I believe in Fairies

I had a little time in my craft room this morning ... and made this ...

 

I coloured this gorgeous LOTV fairy in using my Promarkers.  The dp is Basic Grey Phresh and Phunky, and I added some layered flowers made from stars (nesties), a Marianne Creatible die and small roses.  I had a go at making a swirl using pink and ivory flat backed pearls.

A couple of cards

Dear hubby is in late - he's dining in London tonight, so I ate with the children and settled down in my craft room when Ellie and Beth went to bed. Here are the fruits of my labour:
The first combines the Passion for Promarkers colour combo, Marsh green and burnt umber, with the Papertake Weekly Challenge sketch - another fab one by Dawn.

I coloured the image (thanks Jen!!) using my promarkers and then matted onto green and brown cardstock. The dp is Basic Grey Infuse, and I matted it onto cardstock, folded the corners and added brads. Iadded organza ribbon and green ric rac and a ric rac bow. Very fitting for the weather at the mo!!!

The next card uses the Everybody-Art-Challenge sketch, Allsorts theme, card for a child, and the baby's 1st Christmas theme over at A Spoonfull of Sugar. I made this card for Maddy.

I have kept it very simple - I think little ones need strong colours and not too much detail. I love this LOTV bear, and I coloured him using distress inks. The dp is DCWV and I added loops of red ric rac rather than flowers or snowflakes - a bit more touchy feely for a little one. Some gold distressing and stickles finishes it off.

My craft room feels like a stranger to me at the moment - what with having been poorly and working extra hours (thinking of the crafting stash to buy when I have time!!) I have hardly been in there. Hopefully this weekend I will have time to get in there and catch up with the Christmas cards LOL!!!

Easter cards for 3 challenges!

I managed to get some Easter cards made yesterday while Beth had a nap and Ellie made her own cards.
They fit 3 challenges - LOTV Easter, Charisma Cardz Favourite things (I love these Doodlebug papers at the mo!), and CCT card for a family member (the 2nd card is for my niece Tilly).I coloured the duckling in using Promarkers and matted everything onto pink and green cardstock. I went to town with the doodling (perhaps a bit excessively!!)

First time I have inked this stamp up this year, and again I coloured it using Promarkers. I punched a couple of little eggs and added them to the handwritten sentiment. The gems finish it off. I used the trully Scrumptious sketch for this week so I might enter it into that challenge - I just loved Beth's sketch.

Ellie helped me make this one for Beth for Easter - she had a go at inking the edges (not too bad a job!) and put the papers on, so they might not be as straight as mine LOL!! Oh and of course we had to have the pink bling!!!
These are Ellie's cards that she made for Easter - not sure who she is going to give them to yet!

Cuppa anyone?

I love a cuppa and so this Leanne Ellis is right up my street. I have coloured her for this week's CCT which is food and drink, and LOTV bright and cheerful.

I coloured her in my fave media at the moment and resisted the urge to distress the background. I just ran the ink pad round tthe edges as I didn't want to layer her too much. I love these MME papers, but have yet to use them. I thought the flowers would match Annie's. I cut Annie and the backing layers out using my nesties, added the ribbon, and a papermania brad flower. Decided not to do anything else as its busy enough!!

Twinkle

This week's challenge over at Lili of the Valley is a fab sketch by Donalda. As Ellie's friends seem to be always having birthdays I thought I'd make a girly pink ( ... yes Ali you read that right PINK!!) card to have in stock.

I used my prize from a couple of week's ago, Twinkle, as my image. Ellie has made a few cards with this stamp so I hadn't had a look in. I watercoloured her simply in and, with some help from Beth, stickled the sparkles and crown. I have kept it quite simple and as it will be for a 4 year old used metal flowers - they don't seem to appreciate Primas!! I thought the PB sentiment was quite appropriate with this fairy.

Spring wishes

I can't believe I have already made a card this morning - no girls to feed or do a school run for ... I could do this more often LOL!!
I have combined the CCT theme Spring with the recipe over at LOTV (3 brads, 2 papers, 1 flower) for this card as I have to go and get the girls soon, so my crafting will be back to normal soon :(

This has to be my current favourite image from the Stamp Kit - she is just gorgeous. I watercoloured her and resisted the urge to distress the background! I added some ribbon and ric-rac detail to a couple of the corners and ric-rac acrooss the middle. The sentiment is set off to an angle as it didn't look right straight, with the ribbon corners.

Well off to chuck the cat out, get my mum some flowers and pick the girls up. Will catch up with you all later.

LOTV sketch

Mum have made this for my Mum to give to my gran for her birthday. I love these papers, i got them to scrapbook with, but decided they would be better for cards. As Mum doesn't like fussy cards with lots of embellishments I thought this paper would be perfect, and it works really well with the LOTV sketch this week.
Gran has a March birthday and loves cats so this image is just perfect for her I watercoloured it and matted it onto cardstock. I cut a band of co-ordinating paper and added some organza ribbon. I stamped the daisy scroll in distress ink. The sentiment is left blank as Mum isn't sure what she wants yet ... so that'll be a handwritten one!

Giddy up

One of Ellie's special friends at preschool is 4 next week ... so I have had to make him a card for her. She will ldo her own but he has to have a 'proper' card too!! So I have combined the sketch from Friday Sketchers this week and the LOTV theme, Men, for this card. As it is for a 4 year old boy it is very simple, and non fussy. Ellie wanted wire and had a go herself and then ripped it off - "wire isn't easy Mummy" was her comment!

I let Ellie choose the image, I don't have many boy ones, and thought she would go for a teddy, but she chose this one. I haven't inked him up for ages so it was lovely to colour him and distress the background. I kept the colour theme simple and used simple papers. Just a few brads for embellishments.
While I was doing this card Ellie was playing with my proze from the LOTV challenge, Twinkle. Apparently Twinkle is not mine!!

A pink Valentine

... well red and pink, but as slushy as I can get ... just for you Becky and Alison!!
Love really does seem to be in the air at the moment ... every challenge is love or Valentine's!! Either hubby is going to get lots of cards or I'll just have to find someone else to send a few too!!
So both Cute Card Thursday and Whiff of Joy have Valentine's as their challenge, so another combined challenge, using Lili of the Valley's sketch this week. Bit of a cheat combining them but I have a stinking cold and don't feel very crafty.
Anyway here is my effort...

I coloured and distressed Melinda and matted her onto that fab stripey paper, found at the bottom of my 12x12 stash. The heart is stamped and heat embossed using red tinsel powder to give it a bit of sparkle, and again matted onto the stripey paper. On the other side of the paper was ..pink heart paper!! So that is the backing, hopefully reasonably well covered with velvet ribbon, flowers, scrolls and a sentiment!

OK I really don't do pink, hearts, slush!! But I have tried!

Create a scene

This week's CCT challenge is to create a scene, and I thought I would combine it with LOTV's Valentine challenge. I thought the idea I had was good, it just hasn't come together very well, and I am blaming feeling terrible with a flu like bug. The idea was to have Tilda pondering Edwin's feelings.

I doodled the phrase "loves me loves me not" round the edge in gold pen.

While I was huffing and puffing over this ... Ellie created this:

and she has obviously been taking note of the decorated insides ...

LOTV sketch

This week's LOTV challenge is a fab sketch by Donalda. I have altered it slightly, as I have used an oval rather than a circle for the image.

I coloured my latest Sarah Kay in in Pro markers and used a white gel pen to add some highlights. The Papers are by making Memories and I have inked all the edges in a dusky pink pad. I added pink swirls to the corners, a prima flower and pink organza. The sentiment is by Penny Black.
I am really pleased by the overall effect for a change - I normally start picking my cards to pieces the minute they are finished!

This is a 'just because' card that I made the other night.

I coloured Tilda in using Distress inks and faux stitched her and the K and Co papers. The heart and patch on her dress are decoupaged. I added prima flowers and ribbon from my stash.

I am still on the use up my stash drive. I have decided stamps aren't included in this resolution as you can't use them up ... so I have bought a few from the Glitterpot sale ... just don't tell the Hubby!

Combined challenge card ... again!

I have combined 4 challenges for this card as time is a bit in short supply. I have used this week's WOJ sketch, my promarkers that I got at Christmas (CCT challenge), the theme is birthday (LOTV challenge) and Melinda is drinking soup (MTTC Food theme - tenuous I know but!!)

I coloured the image in with Promarkers and cut Melinda out. I have used papers from Basic Grey's Urban Prairie and added prima flowers, adhesive pink gems and a pink organza ribbon. The sentiments are Penny Black.

OK ... the cat ...

Yes she is cute and sweet, but has taken a liking to the raffia I got to decorate a box I am altering ...

and doesn't she looked pleased with herself.

That'll be raffia to get then!!

2009 journal

I have been making this journal as a Christmas present (Vicky don't look!!), and have finally finished it today. Having looked at the challenges it fits the CCT challenge, punches, and the LOTV challenge New Year (tenuous, but it has 2009 on it and it is a journal for next year!)

I used my Bind-it-All to make the book.

I stamped this gorgeous PB stamp, Water skiing, in Versafine Sepia, and watercoloured it with my pencils. I added scrolls using the sepia ink. I used K and Co papers for the covers, matting and flowers. I used my Stampin Up Scallop punch and my X cut flower punches. The tag and numbers were cut out using my Cuttlebug Olivia alphabet. The ribbons are from my stash.

The scroll stamps are from the Angel Company, and the flower and grass stamps are Magnolia. The inks are from Making Memories.

I hope she likes it.

Skating hedgehogs

I have managed to get some space in my craft room today to make a couple of cards - Ellie and Beth have done the child equivalent of world domination ... kicked me out of my craft room!!

I made this Christmas card (how many more do I have to make :() using this week's fab sketch from LOTV challenge blog. I love these little hedgies, especially the one going the wrong way! I used Dovecraft papers from last year (love them more than this year's), some green cardstock, organza ribbon and prima flower. The sentiment is part of a stamp have for the inserts I occasionally do!

I've made a card!!

After several days of not managing to get to craft at all I have finally made a card, and combined 3 challenges!!! I have combined CCT (lilac), PBSC (no patterned paper) and LOTV (glitter and sparkle).

I have used my current favourite PB, Snowy, and watercoloured him in lilac/purple. I used my Swiss Dots and Snowflakes embossing folders for the backing papers and sanded some of the paper to create a white snowy effect. I added ribbon, gems and stickles from my stash.

I made the aperature using my star nesties and glittered the cut out up. I put a few little adhesive stars around it for interest. I am really liking aperatures after the DDCC challenge so watch out ... there may be more!
The stamp sentiment is from my stash - I inked it up in sections.

Not too bad - amazing how a few days away can put you off your stride!!!

Snow!

I have combined the CCT challenge and the LOTV challenge this week as I am running a bit short on time. For the CCT you need to have snow, and the LOTV challenge is to have a furry friend.
I have made my 1st step/stair card for these challenges, and was surprised how quick it was to do. Sadly I have struggled to get a clear pic of the card - well the front image is clear, the rest a bit blurry!

I used this gorgeous PB image (thanks Pauline) and watercoloured it. I added Woodware's white Fluffy stuff to make the snow round their feet and on the umbrella. I added a little turquoise stickles onto the ribbed white cardstock. The other layers have white gems, woodware brads and silver paper embossed using my cuttlebug Snowflakes folder.

Another quick Christmas card - they need to be quick the amount I have to do!!

Beth decided to be 'helpful' and began to arrange my embossing powders while I was heating the fluffy stuff. When I got back she had taken the lids off the pink and cream powders and sprinkled them over the chairs, the work bench, paper trimmer, cat ... I was not as pleased with her as I could be!!
