Summer

This week's Just Magnolia challenge is summer, and I have combined the challenge with this week's Friday Sketcher.

I masked Tilda and the summer background, and coloured them using promarkers. I matted the image onto pale blue cardstock, and matted some of the dp onto pink cardstock. I added white mulberry flowers with baby pink tea roses threaded through them. I twisted the stems round a cocktail stick. I added baby blue organza to finish the card off. I was going to add some swirls, but I really like the simplicity and cleanness of this - so no fuss!

SCSC challenge 37

This week's challenge is a colour challenge - Pink and Green. The pink bit was always going to be a challenge for me LOL!!

I coloured Tilda in using my promarkers and inked the edges in pink and green ink. I inked the edges of the white dp in pink and green and added punched flowers with pink tinged roses in the middle and pink ribbon. I punched some smaller flowers and added them to the bottom corner of the image, using pastel green pearls for the centre.

Summer

As it is getting warmer and hopefully we are going to have lots more sunshine, we thought we would like to see your summery cards.

I have to confess to a bit of a rush job on this card - I haven't made a card for over two weeks, and have spent the day making my DT cards for this week.

Anyway onto this card ... only one image really sprang to mind for summer (possibly brought on by the squeals and giggling of two sunsuit clads little girls in a paddling pool!) ...

I coloured this fab image in using my promarkers. I have kept the layout quite simple as I am going to use it as a child's birthday card. I went for bright summery colours but very little embellishment - nothing looked quite right.

The exam marking is over so I am back in Blogland and in my Craft room. I am hopefully going to get some time to craft and do some challenges this week ... oh and get some blog hopping in - I haven't visited a single blog for 2 weeks!!!

My foxy friend

I have managed to get a few minutes to myself today and made a simple card - I am really liking the less fussy look of this card, it makes the Gorjuss image stand out.

I coloured the image in using promarkers (I wanted to see how she looked in Promarkers) and matted her onto purple and black cardstock.I ran the purple and lilac cardstock through CB embossing folders and matted them onto black cardstock. I printed out the sentiment and mated that onto black cardstock. I decided to leave it embellishment free, except for the two brads. I followed Becky's sketch on My Time to Craft, and followed CCT and Charisma Cardz challenges theme, animals.

I'm off to rest my back for a bit, girls willing!! Hopefully I'll get a chance to do some more later.

DDCC challenge #34

This week's challenge is to make a love themed card without using red or pink.

I chose purple as my colour!! Think I might have gone a bit mad on the purple!! I coloured Tilda and Edwin in using my promarkers, and sat them on a bench from Magnolia - don't they look cosy! I used coredinations carstock and embossed and distressed it. The other papers are from my cardstock. All the edges have been inked in purple ink from Papermaina (I use alot of their little pads for distressing). I added ribbon and wire from my stash and the large heart ribbon slider brad from Papermania. The sentiment is from a PB transparent set.

Sketch and Stash Challenge #3

My 1st challenge card as a member of the Design Team, and what a fab sketch again by Becky.
My new bits form my stash are the buttons and pink organza ribbon. I rounded the corners and added photo anchors to make it look more like a scrapbook photo. The image is a RAK from Vicky.
I love this sketch and can't wait to see your interpretations of it.

Red and black love

I don't usually make Valentine's cards but one of my friends (?) asked me this morning at preschool if I could make a Valentine's card for her husband.
So the remit ... no flowers, no pink, no fuss and no cute cuddly image ... hmmm.
So following my CAS post and effort yesterday I thought I would do another CAS using Blossom.

I used red, black and white cardstock, and embossed the white using the flowers CB folder. The image, sentiment and white panels are matted on black, and a simple red organza ribbon to finish it. My lovely friend wrote the sentiment herself. I actually like the result - don't often use red or black on my cards, but I think I'm going to start now!

I used this week's PTW sketch (and its a fab one again Dawny!) and as the theme is love I am using this for the Spoonfull of Sugar challenge.

First Love

Another combined challenge for me. I have used the Sketch Saturday sketch, the recipe from Secret Crafter (1 image, 2 papers and 3 embellishments) and the Charisma Card challenge theme, love, to create this card.

This is one of my new acquisitions from the Glitterpot sale. Rather than do the traditional pink/red colour theme, I chose these lovely blue and purple papers, and I think they go so well with these Rachelle Anne Miller stamps. And I managed to get the scallops right this week!

LOTV sketch

This week's LOTV challenge is a fab sketch by Donalda. I have altered it slightly, as I have used an oval rather than a circle for the image.

I coloured my latest Sarah Kay in in Pro markers and used a white gel pen to add some highlights. The Papers are by making Memories and I have inked all the edges in a dusky pink pad. I added pink swirls to the corners, a prima flower and pink organza. The sentiment is by Penny Black.
I am really pleased by the overall effect for a change - I normally start picking my cards to pieces the minute they are finished!

This is a 'just because' card that I made the other night.

I coloured Tilda in using Distress inks and faux stitched her and the K and Co papers. The heart and patch on her dress are decoupaged. I added prima flowers and ribbon from my stash.

I am still on the use up my stash drive. I have decided stamps aren't included in this resolution as you can't use them up ... so I have bought a few from the Glitterpot sale ... just don't tell the Hubby!

Sketch and Stash Challenge #1

Becky, Chrissy and Lisa have launched a newly fortnightly challenge blog, Sketch and Stash, in which you follow a sketch and use something new/unused from your stash (there goes my resolution not to buy until I have used up my stash!!)


I coloured Tilda using my new (Christmas present!) promarkers and added part of a stamp from PB Transparent Salutations set in the corners using pink Papermania ink. The sentiment is from the same set. I matted Tilda on to Basic Grey Eva papers. Its the 1st time I have used this paper from the Eva pack - far to pink and busy for me, but perfect for my friend who will be getting it. I inked up 2 woodware corners and added ric rac and ribbon from my stash. The flowers are Prima (of course!).

Papertake Weekly Challenge sketch

For this Papertake Weekly sketch I used one of my favourite stamps, Sugar Nellie's Daisies. I coloured her using my Promarkers, and have used a selection of purple cardstock and papers by Papermania. The flowers are Prima with little gems in the centre. I added gems down the right hand side (not very clear, sorry), purple organza ribbon from my stash and a gold peel off for the text.
As the Cute Card Thursday is a card of our choice I am also using this for that challenge as it is one of the many thank you cards I will b e making for the girls to send their thank you letters in.

Cute Card Thursday - Drinks

This week's Cute Card Thurdsay challenge is to include drinks. I couldn't resist inking up my latest Sugar Nellie, Strawberry Tea, for this one!

Isn't she so cute?! I have watercoloured her using my Promarkers and matted her on to K and Co papers. All the papers are inked in gold. The flowers are Prima and the scroll stamp from TAC. The gorgeous organza ribbon is from my stash.

A bit of a long post

... but got quite a bit to share!

Firstly thank you so much to all of you that have left a comment for Ellie about her card. She is over the moon and has asked several times today "has anyone else looked at my card?" It has really perked her up. She is getting better and has managed to get out of her PJs today and go outside and play!!!

Sadly Ellie has her eye on quite a few of these, and what she doesn't want she is 'giving' Beth!! I am gong to really enjoy colouring and creating with these as I don't have any of these stamps ... yet!!

Dave, my lovely, wonderful etc hubby finished the technical bits of my craft room (small, compact and bijou!), and after a few coats of varnish it is finished and I have moved in ... it looks like this ...

Anyway finally onto the card!! I got to craft in my lovely room this evening and this is what I have created ....

The CCT challenge this week is autumn and I have combined it with the Dutchdare challenge of only cardstock. I do love this Sugar Nellie image and have coloured her in acqua Promarkers. I used Coreindations cardstock and embossed some of it using my Pumkins folder. I distressed both the background card and the little rectangels to give them that aged feel Autumn has. I added olive green ricrac, ivory lace, Magnolia leaves, copper wire and ochre Prima flowers - pretty much the Autumn colour range. Sadly the wire hasn't shown up as well as it does on the card itself.

Have a grat evening - it has started to rain here, there's a surprise!

Autumn Colours WOJ

This week's WOJ challenge is to use Autumn colours. I love the browns, greens, reds, oranges and yellows of autumn and tend to use them alot on my cards. I have chosen Willow with Umbrella as it does rain alot in Autumn (well it is this autumn!!) and coloured her using my acqua promarkers. The dp is Basic Grey's Mellow and the the cardstock is from my stash. The ochre embossed card is by Coredinations and I have distressed the surface a little. I added ribbon, Prima flowers, brads and gems from my stash.
Its quite a simple card but not very much time to craft between varnishing the woodwork in my new craft room and nursing Ellie.

WOJ challenge 3

This week's Whiff of Joy challenge is a sketch. I was planning to use my new WOJ that arrived this morning to do it, but as I already had Melinda stamped up from another project (see post below if you are interested) I have used her.I used my Aqua Promarkers to colour her and K and Co papers. The cardstock is from Papermania and it is pearlised with gold colouring running through it. I was a bit worried that it might be too dark, but it seems to have worked. The flowers are prima and the lace and brads are from my stash. I used a new marker from the faux stitching and am not overly happy with the result so I will be digging out my old one again.

ABC Challenge K is for ...

Katharina Sketch

Katharina has done this fabulous sketch for this week's ABC challenge.

This is my interpretation of the sketch.

I have rotated the sketch so I could use this gorgeous Sugar Nellie, Picking Apples. I have coloured her using Aqua Promarkers, and used my nesties to matt her. The dp are by K and Co and the brown cardstock from my stash. I faux stitched round all the papers, added lace and ric rac, before finishing it off with some copper wire and Prima flowers.

I am looking forward to seeing all your interpretations of the sketch.

Tilda challenge - a sketch

This week's Tilda and Co challenge is a sketch, and I can't resist a sketch. I am on holiday at the mo,dog sitting for my Mum and Dad so I am working with a limited stash so not as much variety of papers and stash to play with.

Anyway I rotated the sketch due to the images Ipicked and came up with these ...

For this one, I watercoloured Tilda using my Promarkers and matted her onto cardstock. I used K and Co papers and faux stitched them. The ribbon and ric rac ae from my stash. The ribbon already has the stitching on it. I finished it off with some Prima flowers and a bit of red wire.

New Tildas!!

I love my hubby!! He has got me the Magnolia StampClub as a "I love you" pressie. I am partially suspicoius as he was educating me on what they call flowers, chocs etc in Germany when husbands buy them - something to do with dragons - hmmmm!

Anyway, it was a huge surprise when it dropped on the mat this morning!! The girls went to Tumble Tots and while Ellie was doing her 'stuff' (her words not mine!!) I eazi mounted them all and then inked them up when I got home. They are fab!

So I have put the girls to bed early and had a play.

I have used Katharina's fabulous sketch from this week's Papertake Weekly Challenge with this fab stamp. I coloured her using my Aqua Promarkers and matted her onto K and Co papers. The lace is from my stash and the flowers are primas. I love this layout as it isn't too fussy and lets the image really stand out.

This is the card I am going to send to my Mum and Dad for Harvest. I love this Tilda, but not sure what flowers she is holding, so i have given her sedum as mine is blooming in the garden. Edwin is holding some veg ... I think! I have again used K and Co papers, and the images are watercoloured using water pencils. I added faux stitching, ric-rac, copper wire (I am getting the hang of it more now!) and some Prima flowers.

Whiff of Joy

I have finally got round to putting my Whiff of Joy creations on my blog. I love Melinda reading her book, and thought she would work really well with my Sugar Nellie Penpal image.
I have made this card for a very creative friend who loves to read and write letters, poems, short stories, shopping lists!!
I have watercoloured the images and then used a selection of papers from my scraps tray and some ric-rac.

I confess I didn't ink up Melinda's wings for this one!

For this one I had a play with my new Pro markers, and really like the results.

I have used Making Memories papers and added ric rac, lace and wire. The image is rasied up using foam pads. I used the basic elements from one of katharina's sketches. I was going to use flowers for the circle element, but I haven't got any flowers that work with these papers - they look too fussy.

I love this image, a really good image for a boy, and Ellie has lots of boy friends at pre-school.
I love these K and Co Hopscotch papers and think they work really well for boys cards.








I used my Pro markers to colour Oakley and followed one of Katharina's sketches. The papers are English Company I think and I think looking at it now, I am going to add some brads and a peel of just to lift it a bit.

I have never been a big fan of felt pens (something to do with being a teacher I think and kids never colouring well with them. Oh and all the marks on the table that I had to clean so the caretaker wouldn't grumble!!), but I am loving my Pro markers. I just need to practise using them to blend, what a chore, colouring images in!LOL
Off to take Ellie to pre-school and brave the rain. Its a yuck day again here. Hope its better where you are.
