ABC Challenge K is for ...

Katharina Sketch
Katharina has done this fabulous sketch for this week's ABC challenge.

This is my interpretation of the sketch.

I have rotated the sketch so I could use this gorgeous Sugar Nellie, Picking Apples. I have coloured her using Aqua Promarkers, and used my nesties to matt her. The dp are by K and Co and the brown cardstock from my stash. I faux stitched round all the papers, added lace and ric rac, before finishing it off with some copper wire and Prima flowers.

I am looking forward to seeing all your interpretations of the sketch.

Squeeze til I squeak

I absolutely adore this cute Penny Black. I think PB mice are so cute and cuddly (unlike the mice in doc martens that live in my mum's loft!!!). I have watercoloured them using pencils and cut them out using my fiskars shape cutter (hopefully it didn't hurt too much when the tails were trimmed!!)
I have followed this week's Papertake weekly Challenge sketch and used Basic Grey papers and pink cardstock. I have kept it clean and simple so just a few embellishments to finish it off.
I think the image is possibly a bit big for the card and sketch ... but I love it!! This is a really girly card for me.

Hamish and his tractor!

I love this Sugar Nellie, and he is fab to colour. I used my aqua Promarkers to colour him in. I used this gorgeous dp from Basic Grey's Archaic pack and distressed the edges in brown ink. I used an emery board to distress the brown cardstock and inked the edges of the image. I love the brown knotted cord, it is so soft and looks unusual. The brads are from Papermania. A Ihave used Basic Grey papers I am going to enter this into this week's Basic Grey Challenge.

Blue Sarah Kay

The Sarah kay challenge is Blue. I really like working with blue so I thought I would have a go.
I have been a bit restricted on papers as we are dog sitting for my Mum and Dad. I embossed so cardstock and used one of Anita's Christmas papers that reminded me of Victoriana wallpaper. The image is watercoloured in blue pencil crayons. I added lace, prima flowers and some blue wire to complete it.

All that glitters

The Penny Black Saturday Challenge is Seasons, so I have used this gorgeous PB Christmas stamp and the Sketch Saturday sketch to make this Christmas card. I used Anita's Christmas papers and watercoloured and glittered the iamge. The snowflakes are from Anita's papers and are glittered. I also glittered the prima flower. As we are on holiday,do sitting for my parents I only brought a limited amount of stash, so not able to embellish the way I wanted. Might do some tweaking next week.

Tilda challenge - a sketch

This week's Tilda and Co challenge is a sketch, and I can't resist a sketch. I am on holiday at the mo,dog sitting for my Mum and Dad so I am working with a limited stash so not as much variety of papers and stash to play with.
Anyway I rotated the sketch due to the images Ipicked and came up with these ...

For this one, I watercoloured Tilda using my Promarkers and matted her onto cardstock. I used K and Co papers and faux stitched them. The ribbon and ric rac ae from my stash. The ribbon already has the stitching on it. I finished it off with some Prima flowers and a bit of red wire.

For this one I watercoloured Tilda and matted her onto cardstock. I used K and Co papers again, and faux stitched them. I added lace, Prima flowers and red wire.

Sorry the photos aren't brill - something to do with the light here in theLake district, as in there isn't much as it is raining!
Thank you for looking.

Craft Retreat

I spent Saturday at Penrith Crafts, which is a fab craft shop in Penrith, with a group of crafting friends I have met on Docrafts. We had a great time swapping images, stash and techniques. We also managed to get the odd card made!! This is one of the cards I made.
I used this week's sketch from Friday Sketcher, and the lovely Sugar Nellie image Reflective. The papers are K and Co and from my stash. I used lace and wire from my stash, and Prima flowers. I put a tag on for the sentiment, when I decide to put one on.
I had a great Saturday and can't wait for the next. Thank you very much Sandra and Samantha.

Can he fix it?

A very simple card for this week's Dutchdare challenge. You have to make a masculine card, and as Ellie is back in Pre-school and the round of birthdays is starting, I decided to get a head of myself and make this one for her friend Tom. He is a Bob the Builder fan and loves tinkering with the cars, bikes etc at Preschool, so I thought Hamish was really appropriate. Not much fuss on the card and not much to take off (he has a younger brother that is as destuctive as my Beth!!).

Tilda and wire

I haven't done a Sketch Saturday challenge before, so this is the week to start!!! I love the sketch and have had a lovely time creating this card (no children/husband/phone interruptions - bliss!!)

This has to be one of my favourite Tildas at the moment - I adore her little pigtails and dungarees. I have coloured her using my aqua promarkers and then matted her onto brown cardstock. The dp is Nostalgic Warn from Papermainia and brown cardstock. The green is from my scraps tray, and I used lace rather than scalloped paper. I went a bit mad with the faux stitching and did it all by hand rather than using my cutterbee - thats probably why there is a single stitch the same length! I finished it off with some Prima flowers and copper wire.

All that glitters!

This week the theme for the Cute Card Thursday challenge is
Lots of sparkle!
You can add bling, glitter, baubles, stickles, anything that makes your card sparkle!

I have used this adorable stamp by Penny Black, Hedgy and Snowy. I water coloured the image and then added stickles (lots of it as Ellie helped squeeze the bottle!). I added the turquoise using the tip of some wire. The papers are Dovecraft and from my stash. I used my Swiss Dots and Snowflakes folders to emboss the plain papers. I threaded tiny silver beads onto blue wire and curled it (that was a laugh!), and added some square and circle gems. Not sure where I got the snowman word from - it was lurking at the bottom of my Christmas box!
I followed Claudia's sketch from her blog candy for the layout.

Melinda and charms

Charms is the challenge from A Spoonfull of Sugar this week. I decided to combine this challenge with the WOJ guest designer call, as Ellie is getting better so I thought I might have time to have a go at the designer card if I paced myself. I have used this sketch from Katharina...
and have come up with this ...
I have used Melinda reading her book and my favourite K and Co papers. Lots of faux stitching as I was having a 'fussy'moment and lace. The charm is from my stash, as is the little gem flower I put on the end of the book mark. The flowers are Prima. I really resisted the urge to use wire with this one! I slightly adapted the sketch to have a tag so I could hang the charm from it. Still trying to use up peel off so a peel off sentiment again.

Now for the embarrassing bit - I made this yesterday and late last night (it took hours as I kept getting interrupted by a sickly child!), and had no idea that the 1st WOJ challenge would be this sketch, or that Bev would use the same image and papers from the same pad - honest I haven't copied anyone!! My Mum will testify to this!
So I am also going to enter this into the WOJ challenge.

My time to craft challenge

This week's My Time to Craft challenge is to make a card using blue.
I have succombed to the call of Christmas cards and made this one using this gorgeous House Mouse image sent to me by Gisela. I have coloured the mice in a bluey grey and used a flesh tone for their ears and tails. The candle is is blue grey as well and hopefully looks like pewter. The papers are from Dovecraft and Papermania's embossed cardstock. The ribbon and gems are from my stash and the flowers are prima.

ABC challenge ...J is for ...

JEWELS
This week we would like to see jewels on your creations.

I made this wallet for my lovely SBS sister Becky, who has been a bit down. I have put in some stamped images for her to play with. I have also made it while Ellie has been poorly, so I have not spent as much time on it as I would have liked, and I have been 'helped' along the way by little fingers! The photo hasn't really done it justice either!

I used Making Memories papers - I bought this pack a while ago and find it quite difficult to use as it is often difficult to match up ribbon etc, but they seem to work here. Tilda has been cut out using my nesties, and the lace, ribbon, wire and jewels are from my stash. The heart jewels are courtesy of Ellie and Beth (I wouldn't have used them!!). I have used one of Katharina's latest sketches for the layout.

Penny Black Saturday Challenge

This week's PBSC is to decorate the inside of your card. I have done a rapid re-think on hubby's birthday card (one I had made hubby is winging its way to BIL as forgot his birthday oops!!). I had planned to make a bus orientated card as hubby is a little bus obsessed. I had gotr all the pop up bits cut and scored ready to put a bus on - now its a hedgie!!

I have use Katharina's sketch 27 for the layout on the front, and the papers are all K and Co Hopscotch. The braid and wire is from my stash.

Inside I have used blue card and Hopscotch papers. The bow is made using the left overs from the braid on the front.

Gold peel offs finish it off. Just hope he's not too disappointed that its not a bus!!!

Thank you to all of you that have sent best wishes to Ellie - she is still poorly - her tonsils are getting worse still at the moment!! But bless her, she is trying to play and it hasn't affected her ability to talk (sadly!)! I have managed to knock this card together while she is dosed up with painkillers, antibiotics and is having a sleep. Hopefully I will get some sleep later!

Friday Sketcher

This week's Friday Sketcher has been a bit of a challenge for me as Ellie has gone down with tonsillitus again (4th or 5th time so far this year, I'm loosing count!!!) and I am really tired as no sleep last night. I have used the sketch for 2 cards that I needed to make, but am not sure about either ... but also too tired to care now!!
For this card I used Sugar Nellie's Postbox and coloured it in aqua promarkers. The papers are Making Memories and I made the little envelopes. The flowers and braid are from my stash. I forgot to round the corners on the little squares - oops!

I used Making Memories papers again for this card that is for a friend's little girl. I love this Tilda and used my nesties to cut out the ovals. I punched the hearts out of red corrugated paper and added silver peel off hearts and text. The lace and silver braid is from my stash.

Sorry this is a quick post - off to nurse a poorly little girl. Hopefully I will get time to do some blogging later.

CCT meets Dutch Dare

I have combined the Dutch Dare challenge of no square edges with the CCT challenge of having food on your card.I have used one of my new Tildas for the card - still not sure what she has got in her basket, recognise the mushroom, but not much else!!! She is watercoloured using water colour pencils. I have used a set of Making Memories papers I don't often use, particularly for cards with female images on them. I have played around with the layout a bit and tried to do something
a bit different for me. The flowers are prima and the lace and wire from my stash.

A Christmas card!

The Spoonfull of Sugar challenge this week is to make a Christmas card ... I have really struggled with this as I can't, won't get my head round Christmas in September!!!! All that red, green, gold and glitter ... Anyway I have got some lovely blue Christmas papers so I thought I would have a go at making a card for my nephew as he doesn't "do" the traditionally cute Christmas card!!!So I have used Dinky Dots' AJ (hope a download is OK) and coloured him in using my Promarkers. Ellie has helped me with the rest of the card. We embossed some blue cardstock with my Snowflakes and Swiss Dots folders and added a strip of Dovecraft paper. The ribbon and wire is from my stash.
Ellie glitter glued the cuffs and hood (she says it is as neat as she could get it!!!) and put glitter glue around him and sprinkled beads onto it. I am not sure who was more covered in glitter and glue ... Ellie or the card LOL!! Ellie wanted to add the snowflakes as Ed won't do flowers being a boy - good point!
Hope you like it.

ABC challenge I is for ...

INDIVIDUAL

This week the ABC I challenge is for Individual. We are lucky to be sponsored by Inklebods who have given a wonderful stamp called Mikey for the winner. The winner will also be asked to join the design team as a regular team member, so if you are interested pop over to the ABC Challenge to find out more.

We would like to see your best work, in your favourite style and medium, we want to see your own individual style.

I love this Tilda image, and have coloured her in using my Promarkers. I chose brown and red/pink as a colour scheme as it is quite rich and autumnal, and I love the colours and light effects we get in autumn.

I used my nestibilities to cut all the ovals and oval frames. For the smaller ovals I used a technique I haven't used for a while, serendipity (or collage to any teachers out there!!), as I love the hotchpotch effect it creats. The papers are K and Co and Papermania and the brown card is from my stash. I added some faux stitching, ribbon and copper wire. The flowers are Prima, with tiny gems in the middle.

If you have time, why don't you have a go at the challenge.

New Tildas!!

I love my hubby!! He has got me the Magnolia StampClub as a "I love you" pressie. I am partially suspicoius as he was educating me on what they call flowers, chocs etc in Germany when husbands buy them - something to do with dragons - hmmmm!

Anyway, it was a huge surprise when it dropped on the mat this morning!! The girls went to Tumble Tots and while Ellie was doing her 'stuff' (her words not mine!!) I eazi mounted them all and then inked them up when I got home. They are fab!

So I have put the girls to bed early and had a play.

I have used Katharina's fabulous sketch from this week's Papertake Weekly Challenge with this fab stamp. I coloured her using my Aqua Promarkers and matted her onto K and Co papers. The lace is from my stash and the flowers are primas. I love this layout as it isn't too fussy and lets the image really stand out.

This is the card I am going to send to my Mum and Dad for Harvest. I love this Tilda, but not sure what flowers she is holding, so i have given her sedum as mine is blooming in the garden. Edwin is holding some veg ... I think! I have again used K and Co papers, and the images are watercoloured using water pencils. I added faux stitching, ric-rac, copper wire (I am getting the hang of it more now!) and some Prima flowers.

Friday sketcher meets PBSC

This week I have combined the Friday Sketcher sketch with the Penny Black Saturday Challenge, which is to do a man's card without any blue.

I have rotated the sketch through 90 degrees as the image is too large to go the other way.

As it is a man's card I have gone for plain papers and embossed them rather than patterned papers (and the Kand Co papers that I love for men happen to be mainly blue LOL!). I have used Penny Black's Ode of Joy and coloured it using Promarkers. I used my Swuiss Dots and Allegro embossing folders for the papers, and added copper and gold wire. The sketch hints at buttons - I have non of them so have added some small brads instead. Finally I added a gold sentiment peel off.

Hope you like.

Tilda and co challenge

This week's Tilda and co challenge is ...

Chocolate, Pink & white...
So go as Chocolate Crazy as you like.

I am not a big fan of chocolate, prefer cheese and crisps. However my closest friend, Christine, is so I have made this for her. This Tilda looks a little like her daughter did when she was small.

I have watercoloured this lovely Tilda given to me by Vicky in pinks. I have used brown cardstock and embossed some of it using my flowers folder, and papers from Basic Grey's Twoo Scoops pack. The lace and wire is from my stash, and the text from a K and Co paper.

A simple card with little fuss and no flowers!!! (some of the poor people that get conned into buying my creations don't like flowers!!)

Sarah Kay challenge

The Sarah Kay Challenge this week is ...
Trio of Papers

This week we would love to see what you can come up with the use of your Sarah Kay Stamps, and 3 Patterned/Designer Papers.

I have kept the layout of this card simple and not really embellished it as I have picked some quite 'busy' papers. I have used aqua promarkers to colour the image, and K and Co papers. The lace and wire is from my stash.
