Cute Card Thursday - Drinks

This week's Cute Card Thurdsay challenge is to include drinks. I couldn't resist inking up my latest Sugar Nellie, Strawberry Tea, for this one!
Isn't she so cute?! I have watercoloured her using my Promarkers and matted her on to K and Co papers. All the papers are inked in gold. The flowers are Prima and the scroll stamp from TAC. The gorgeous organza ribbon is from my stash.

ABC Challenge - O is for ...

Oval
This week's ABC challenge is oval - you need to include ovals in your creation.
I used my nesties to cut a large oval out of a card blank and then I hung the image using wire (sorry it doesn't show very well) from the top and bottom of the oval. I curled the ends of the wire into the flowers. The oval will swivel in the breeze (in theory!!)

I am looking forward to seeing all your creations this week.

Stamp: Sarah Kay My Sweet Lili

Papers: Basic Grey Two Scoops

Embellishments: Lace and silver wire from my stash, Prima flowers

Red and Green Willow

This week's Whiff of Joy challenge is to use Red and Green ... so that's another Christmas card done!!
I have been a bit quick off the mark with this but the girls got up at 6am so I have made a card, done the ironing and hoovered ... it must be nearly lunch time!!
I watercoloured Willow and then matted her onto papers from Basic Grey's Wassail pad (I love this pad!). I inked all the edges with a goldy green pad by Papermania and added some ribbon from my stash and Prima flowers.

Have a great day.

Spoonfull of sparkle

The Spoonfull of Sugar challenge this week is to add sparkle and bling to your card. I'm not really a blingy person ... but I have some scrummy ribbon that fits the bill!! Sadly the photo doesn't do it justice. The sentiment, as such as it is, is personal to a close friend.
Its a bit tenuous, but as I have used a bit of Basic Grey paper and got shapes (squares on there) I am going to also enter this into the Basic Grey Challenge this week, in lieu of having much time to craft due to it being half term.Stamp: Sugar Nellie Sweet Art Ebony Picking Apples, watercoloured using Promarkers
Papers: Coredinations, DCWV Glitter Stack, Basic Grey Urban Prairie
Embellishments: Wire and ribbon from Stash, rub ons by Making Memories.

Sarah Kay meets Papertake

I haven't inked up my Sarah Kay's in a while so I thought I would enter the Sarah Kay challenge this week, in which you have to include an animal. I have used Rose's Garden as it has a cat/dog (never sure!!) and followed this week's fab papertake Weekly Challenge sketch by Dawny.
Its pink (Marcea and Sue please take note!!!) and a bit busy but I do love Eva papers!

Papers - Basic Grey Eva

Images: Sarah Kay Rose's Garden, Penny Black transparent set (name gone from mind and too lazy to look!!)

Embellishments - ribbon, gems and prima flowers from stash

Saturday Sketch 22

I loved this sketch, and will definitely use it again. Still making Christmas cards, but might have a go at something else as I get easily bored using the same colour combos, and cannot quite get to grips with pink for Christmas!!Image: Penny Black

Papers: Papermania

Embellishments: ribbon from stash, stamp from papermania vellum peel off.

Friday Sketchers

This is my interpretation of this week's Friday Sketcher. I have tried to keep it simple.Image: Penny Black
Papers: Papermania, DCWV
Embellishments: prima flowers, buttons, ribbons, snowflake charm from stash.

Dutch dare sketch

This is the card for this week's Dutch Dare Challenge. I am making a concerted effort to get on with making my Christmas cards, so I have used the sketch for this card.

Papers: Dovecraft, cardstock from stash

Embellishments: brads from stash

Vamp!

We've been away for the weekend, so I have mild craft withdrawal symptoms, having not made a card since last Thursday!! So now I am playing catch up - the girls are going to have a long sleep this afternoon LOL!
I have combined the PBSC with the Secret Crafter sketch this week. I confess to not having any Halloween Penny Black stamps, so I have used Light the Night and tried to vamp her up a bit, like Mortica from the Adams Family! My waterbursh was a bit tempermental and flooded a lot so the image is not as crisply coloured as I would like! I also rotated the sketch to suit the stamp.

Papers: Coredinations put through CB Spiders web embossing folder, DCWV Glitter stack, Old World stack

Embellishments: Prima flower, letters cut using CB Olivia font, purple wire and brad from stash

WOJ sketch

This week there is a fab sketch over on the Whiff of Joy Challenge blog. I love sketches and this one is fab - lots of papers to use.

I watercoloured this image of Charlotte sent to me by Becky using Acqua Promarkers. The papers are all from the Basic Grey Mellow pad. The ribbon is scrummy organza with glittered swirls on it. The flowers are Primas and the buttons from my stash. The stext is from somewhere, I have had it so long I can't remember where I got it from!

Halloween Lulu

The Papertake Weekly challenge and the Spoonfull of Sugar challenge this week is Halloween. I don't normally do Halloween cards as the girls are a bit young. However this year I thought I would have a go.

I watercoloured Lulu using my Acqua Promarkers - the purple was having a contrary moment and went everywhere! The cardstock is embossed using my Spiders web and pumpkin CB folders. I cut out a moon from white mulberry paper and put Lulu over it. I added orange star gems and orange spotty ribbon. The silver wire is supposed to be a spider's thread, and as I can't make spiders I made a black cord bow.

Create a card!

A few of my crafting friends set each other challenges using bits and pieces we send through the post. We tag each other so don't always know who has sent the delight envelope of goodies! My envelope arrived yesterday ...

The only rule is you have to use some of each element - that paper was going to be a challenge for me!!! This is what I came up with ...

I cut some of the flowers out of the paper and stuck them on white cardstock. I faux stitched some stem and added a piece of embossed green cardstock. Stamped a sentiment using a Hero Arts stamp. The ink bled a bit, and then I added the photo clip and gem. I originally used the bubbles to stick prima flowers down, but the flowers ended up looking like pancakes so I have removed them after photographing the original card for the challenge.
As it doesn't have a stamped image and uses pink, white, green and black I am going to enter it into the Poppicrafts challenge.

ABC challenge ... N is for ...

This week's ABC challenge is Nature and we want to see your interpretations of nature. It can be using the images or colours of nature.

I used these gorgeous stamps fom the Magnolia Fall Stamp Club. I watercoloured them using my Acqua promarkrs and cut them out. After layering them on brown cardstock I matted it all onto papers from my stash and did a bit of faux stitching. All the papers are inked using Versafine Sepia. I added gorgeous stitched ribbon and ricrac by Rico and Prima flowers that I added Cinnamon glitter glue to. Copper wire finished it all off. It is supposed to be tucked behind the brown cardstock, not right across Edwin's face though LOL!

I am really looking forward to seeing your creations this week, and do have a look at the other DT members' cards ... they are stunning.

Flowers and swirls

I have made this card for a friend, as a thank you card. I followed this week's Friday sketcher sketch, and used Basic Grey's Eva papers. The Basic Grey challenge is to use stitching, and I love a bit of stitching. I am also entering it into Suzanne's Breast Cancer awareness challenge. Pop over to her blog to find out more about it.
Papers: Basic Grey Eva, cardstock
Ribbon: organza ribbon, braid from stash
Flowers: Prima
Embellishments: Papermania gems, swirls cut using sizzix die

Swinging mouse!

The PBSC challenge this week is an ATC - I don't often make these and haven't made any for a while. I fund them too small!!I used Xmouse Ornament and watercoloured it. I cut it out (and nearly chopped its tail off LOL!) and put glitter glue on the snowflake. I have used navy glitter card and snowflake paper from Anita's Christmas papers. I wrapped silver beads round the ATC and positioned the mouse to look like he is sliding down it.

The Secret Crafter Saturday challenge is to use blue, white and a bit of snowflake, so I used the Saturday Sketch and my ATC to create a card (sorry it didn't scan very well, and the light is too bad for photos here today).
The papers are Dovecraft and snowflake embossed white cardstock. I added star and blue gems and white organza ribbon.
Yet another Christmas card made!

No image card

Over on the Poppicraft blog Michelle is running a challenge - you need to create a card with no stamped images, and can only used a combination of pink, white, green and black. Some gorgeous flowers are up for grabs. This has posed a really challenge for me as I haven't made a card without a stamped image on it for months, so here goes ...

I have used papers by DCWV and white cardstock that I have embossed with my Swiss Dots folder. The organza ribbon and flowers are from my stash. I used my sizzix swirl die for the green fronds.

Very different from my usual cards!

A bit of a long post

... but got quite a bit to share!

Firstly thank you so much to all of you that have left a comment for Ellie about her card. She is over the moon and has asked several times today "has anyone else looked at my card?" It has really perked her up. She is getting better and has managed to get out of her PJs today and go outside and play!!!
Next - THANK YOU BECKY for the lovely card and images.
Sadly Ellie has her eye on quite a few of these, and what she doesn't want she is 'giving' Beth!! I am gong to really enjoy colouring and creating with these as I don't have any of these stamps ... yet!!

Dave, my lovely, wonderful etc hubby finished the technical bits of my craft room (small, compact and bijou!), and after a few coats of varnish it is finished and I have moved in ... it looks like this ...

The work bench ... which also hides a single bed under it.

Lots of storage space

Some of my stash stored away!

He has made a shelving unit to store stamps, ribbons etc.

Anyway finally onto the card!! I got to craft in my lovely room this evening and this is what I have created ....

The CCT challenge this week is autumn and I have combined it with the Dutchdare challenge of only cardstock. I do love this Sugar Nellie image and have coloured her in acqua Promarkers. I used Coreindations cardstock and embossed some of it using my Pumkins folder. I distressed both the background card and the little rectangels to give them that aged feel Autumn has. I added olive green ricrac, ivory lace, Magnolia leaves, copper wire and ochre Prima flowers - pretty much the Autumn colour range. Sadly the wire hasn't shown up as well as it does on the card itself.

Have a grat evening - it has started to rain here, there's a surprise!

Ellie's Autumn WOJ

I am not very well and am sad because I can't play with the little boy mummy looks after. So mummy has let me have a play with her stamped images and papers. I love this little girl with her umbrella up. The ribbon has come from my crafty bag and so has the red and gold paper. The rest has come from mummy's scraps tray.

I liked mummy's umbrella card and she told me about the Whiff of Joy challenge blog and showed me some of your cards, so I thought I would do one.

Hope you like it.

Hugs

Ellie xx

(Age 3yrs)

Ellie has made this card all on her own from cut papers in her bag and my tray. I was really surprised when she showed me it.

Autumn Colours WOJ

This week's WOJ challenge is to use Autumn colours. I love the browns, greens, reds, oranges and yellows of autumn and tend to use them alot on my cards. I have chosen Willow with Umbrella as it does rain alot in Autumn (well it is this autumn!!) and coloured her using my acqua promarkers. The dp is Basic Grey's Mellow and the the cardstock is from my stash. The ochre embossed card is by Coredinations and I have distressed the surface a little. I added ribbon, Prima flowers, brads and gems from my stash.
Its quite a simple card but not very much time to craft between varnishing the woodwork in my new craft room and nursing Ellie.

Hope you like it.

ABC challenge - M is for ...

Doesn't time fly - I can't believe that we are already up to M in the ABC challenge. A small part of me is now beginning to think out those 'nasty' letters towards the end of the alphabet!!

Anyway this week's challenge is...

MALE

I used Sugar Nellie's gorgeous Hamish with Tractor and watercoloured him using acqua promarkers. I inked his edges in olive green ink and matted him onto a collection of BG Archiac papers, which were inked in Versafine Sepia. I added a couple of lengths of braid (it is gorgeous, so soft and almost velvety!) and some brads by Dovecraft and papermania.

Hope you like it and I look forward to visiting you all this week.

I apologise to all of you that have visited my blog in the last couple of weeks and not been visited back. We have been on holiday for a few days and then plagued by sickness, and finally my older gremlin has got tonsillitus so not much blogging going on ...lots of messy crafting as 3 year olds like that!! Hopefully normality will resume soon and I can get round everyone.

Dinky Dots Den Challenge #1

There is a new challenge blog set up by my lovely SBS sister and ABC challenge Design Team member Alison, called Dinky Dots Den. They set monthly challenges and this month's is Halloween. You are encouraged to think out of the box so I have decided to make a recipe book using 8x8 scrap papers.

I decide to use purple, orange and black as my main colours.

I have used Lulu on the front cover and followed this week's sketch on a Spoonfull of Sugar challenge. I have broken with habit and got my Whispers pens out and coloured the images in with them. The papers are inked and distress nad I have added cobwebs from the magnolia Autumn stamp club and die cut pumpkins. The Prima flowers have also been distressed.

I used Versafine black onyx and Sepia to distress the papers and the font for the recipes is CHiller - very appropriate for Halloween!

I have used Wizard AJ and die cut bats and pumpkins. I cut crescent moon and full moons out of mulberry paper. I used the Pumpkin Harvest embossing folder for some of the purple papers.

We had great fun creating this - Ellie and Beth helped with the tearing and distressing, and the embossing and die cutting bits of it. Just going to take a while to get the ink off our hands!

Hope you like it,
