Thank you

This is just a quick post to say
THANK YOU
to everyone who has been so kind and sent Ellie a get well card. She took nearly 3 hours to open them as she looked at each one and decided where to put it. I would love to list you all but it would take ages (over 40 cards and they are still arriving!!) and she is a little clingy.
The hospital staff said they had never seen so many cards in 1 place and so many beautiful cards - they are absolutely stunning. Your kindness, generosity and thoughtfulness has overwhelmed myself, Dave and Ellie.
Ellie is home and making good progress. She will be making a big thank you card to you all over the weekend, so check back on Sunday to see her creation - I promised her glitter and sparkle (gulp!!).
Have a great weekend everyone.
Big hugs from Ellie xxx

Dutchdare Card Challenge 25

This week's Dutch Dare challenge is to have hole somewhere on your card. It took me a while to come up with this card, but I am really pleased with theoutcome ... and it reminds me of Summer, not Christmas cards!!

I used Penny Black's Lily Skiing and stamped it twice. I water coloured both and then decoupaged the lily and the butterfly to add a bit of depth. I cut the circle out using my nesties and put the butterfly on the inside of the card. I used silver wire to replace the string on the stamp and coiled the end a little.
The papers are K and Co and the flowers Prima. I used clear gems from my stash, and copied the corner pattern on the inside of the card. The organza ribbon is from my stash, and the sentiment a Penny Black.
Here is another view of the card.

I hope you like it and it has given you the inspiration to have a go at this week's challenge.

ABC challenge s is for ...

SNOW
This week's challenge is to create a card or project with snow somewhere on it. Hopefully this is the last Chrsitmas card I make!!

I have made quite a simple card as I don't seem to have been very organised recently and so have lost crafting time. I used my winter Stamp club Tilda and Edwin and coloured them using my Acqua Promarkers. I added Woodware's Fluffy Stuff to the cuffs, hat and coat trim to add texture. Finally a lot of glitter glue for the icy sparkle. I used Dovecraft papers and cardstock from my stash. I embossed the white card with my Siwss Dots folder and matted it ontp lilac cardstock. I cut cirlcles with my nesties and arranged them on the corners. The sentiment is a Cuddly Buddly and the brads are Woodware. I faux stitched round everything using a silver gel pen and added stickles to the centre of the brads.

I apologise in advance if I do not visit your blogs this coming week - Ellie goes into hospital tomorrow so it will depend on her recovery to how much blogging time I get.

Spoonfull of Sugar Sketch

The Spoonfull challenge this week is a fab sketch and I have used it to make another of Ellie's friends a birthday card.

I love this Sugar Nellie stamp - it is so good for birthday cards! I watercoloured Arthur using my Acqua Promarkers and then cut and layered him using my nesties. The papers are DCWV Glitter stack and Coreindination (I resisted the temptation to distress it!) The organza ribbons and flower brads are from my stash. The sentiment is a Penny Black.

We are all suffering a bit here with colds, and Ellie is back on antibiotics, so fingers crossed she gets her tonsils done on Thursday. Thank you so much to all of you who have offered to make a card for her to open in hospital. They are beginning to arrive thick and fast and being squirrelled away. It really really cheer her up.

Funky snowy

This week's Penny Black Saturday Challenge is to do a funky Christmas card ... finally the lightbulb lit up, and I have made this for my niece using this week's Papertake Sketch by Dawn.

I used Penny Black's Snowy image and watercoloured part of the hat and the scarf. I mixed flower soft and pink glitter together to do the pompom and trim to the hat. It looked fab when I did it ... then the kitten decided she liked the feel and now there is less flower soft, and glittery paw prints everywhere!!
The papers are cCoreindiations and I have embossed and distress the pink one. I matted onto black cardstock, added green and pink ribbons, and a couple of Woodware Snowflake brads. The only thing missing is a sentiment ... might add one, but my niece is a bit young to be reading!

transported ted

I have hasrdly done any crafting over the weekend, been craft spending, but not creating!!
I have made this card for a firend's little girl who is not too good at the moment. I have alos managed to combine the Sketch Saturday, Secret Crafters (decoupage) and the Basic Grey (embossing) on this challenge :-)

The image is of course by Penny Black and i stamped it out three times, and watercoloured 2 of them. On the third I heat embossed the balloons as I still can't find my glossy accents. I layered them up ...

I used Basic Grey Urban Priarie papers and blue cardstock. I covered the chipboard corners and used ribbon from my stash. The sentiment is hand written in gold pen. Instead of flowers I used die cut balloons.
Ellie says it is pretty so I think it will be loved!

Friday Sketcher

I do love doing sketches and this Friday Sketchers is a fab sketch. I have rotated it and re-sized it a bit as I have done a square card, rather than a rectangular one.I have used this gorgeous Sugar Nellie, she is just so cute and matted her onto Making Memories papers. The lace is from my stash and the sentiment a Penny Black one. I added a gold wire flower and faux stitched everything in gold.

Snow!

I have combined the CCT challenge and the LOTV challenge this week as I am running a bit short on time. For the CCT you need to have snow, and the LOTV challenge is to have a furry friend.
I have made my 1st step/stair card for these challenges, and was surprised how quick it was to do. Sadly I have struggled to get a clear pic of the card - well the front image is clear, the rest a bit blurry!

I used this gorgeous PB image (thanks Pauline) and watercoloured it. I added Woodware's white Fluffy stuff to make the snow round their feet and on the umbrella. I added a little turquoise stickles onto the ribbed white cardstock. The other layers have white gems, woodware brads and silver paper embossed using my cuttlebug Snowflakes folder.

Another quick Christmas card - they need to be quick the amount I have to do!!

Beth decided to be 'helpful' and began to arrange my embossing powders while I was heating the fluffy stuff. When I got back she had taken the lids off the pink and cream powders and sprinkled them over the chairs, the work bench, paper trimmer, cat ... I was not as pleased with her as I could be!!

WOJ Sketch

Heather has done another fabulous sketch for this week's WOJ challenge. I have struggled with the layering of the paper, so I have used a bit of artistic interpretation!!

I have used Willow and her umbrella, and watercoloured her. The papers are Basic Grey's Urban Priarie, and the ric-rac ribbon is from my stash. The flowers are Prima, the sentiment a PB and I used a gold gel pen to do the stitching. I would have used glossy accents to make the umbrella look wet, only I can't find them!!!

Dutchdare Challenge 24

This week's Dutchdare challenge is to use 3 flowers on your card.
I haven't made a card, rather scrap pages for a scrapbook that I am making for one of my closest friends.
I have made the book using my bind it all and cream hammered card. The pages have had the edges inked in gold ink.

I have used Prima flowers and Papermania's warm nostaglic papers. The tag was made using my sizzix die and the scroll stamps are from Hero arts. The tag is plain on the back so some journalling can be added and there is space in the pocket for other little bits to be added.

This is the facing page, for the photograph. I have made the frame using my nesties and you can slide a picture into the aperature. I added butterflies stamped in Sepia and gold heat embossed and some ribbon from my stash. The flowers are Prima.
I am trying to keep the layouts quite simple so the photos and journalling will be the focus.

Here is the front of the book and another couple of pages.
I have used a journalling stamp and the title has been generated on my compute - I love the text as it prints out looking distressed. The clash is a false fastening, the ribbon goes round the inside front cover and there is a matching one on the back cover. I have tied ribbon on the wires and added Prima flowers.

The scrolling has been stamped in green ink and the heat embossed with clear powder to create a textured background. The journalling tags have been cut out using my nesties, and the edges inked in green.
For these pages i used K and Co papers and inked all the edges. The frame is made using my nesties ( loving the latest shapes!), and of course a couple of Prima flowers.

I am really pleased with the overall effect so far - only 4 more pages to do!

ABC challenge R is for ....

RIBBON
although I have to say I liked the idea of red robins!!!
You have to use ribbon somewhere on your card for this challenge ... and like I was going to find this hard!!! The hardest part was deciding which ribbons to use - some many to stroke and choose from!
I decided to be a bit different and create a woven ribbon background for my card. I wove green and pink ribbons, and then added a simple tag with prima flowers on it. I will add a sentiment to the tag when I use it. The bp is Papermania.
So what are you going to do with your ribbons?

Tilda and Bell

I am getting a bit fed up with Christmas cards and don't seem to have any time to craft, so I have made this quick, simple one this morning. I have found it really hard matching papers to these flowers, so I have only used 2 lots of plain cardstock. I embossed the bp using my Cuttlebug Snowflakes embossing folder and then distressed it a bit. I matted Tilda after watercolouring her, added a bit of lace and 3 flowers. As it has snow and flowers on it, it meets both this week's Papertake Weekly Challenge and Spoonfull of Sugar.

I love dirt

The Basic Grey Challenge this week is One for the Boys. I love this Sugar Nellie and use it alot on cards for my daughter's preschool friends. I have however decided to make this card for my brother!
I have used Basic Grey Archiac papers and rub ons and follwed this week's Lili of the Valley sketch. I rotated the sketch and replaced the text circle and flowers with pebble rub-ons and added my own text below -call it poetic licence!
I watercoloured Hamish and cut and layered him using my nesties. The circles are also cut with my nesties. I inked the edges in dark brown papermania ink. Really simple, just took me a long time due to a kitten chasing the lolly stick while I was adding the rub ons!!

Ellie's get well card

I have made Ellie's get well card, by combining the Sketch Saturday sketch and the Secret Crafter challenge this week, to use a cute image and button. And for those of you who know me ... I have used pink!!!!
I love this gorgeous Sugar Nellie image. I have watercoloured her and then inked the edges using Making Memories rose pink ink. I have used Basic Grey Eva papers and a Making Memories flower and Woodware button. The itsy flowers are also Prima. I faux stitched round everything using a gold gel pen.
Just need to hide it away, and remember where I have hidden it!

black and white Snowy

This week's PBSC is monochrome. I have made a black and white Christmas card.

I used Snowy and added black, silver gel pen and some glitter glue to the image. I have used black cardstock, and DCWV gliiter stack ans adhestive papers. I ran a piece of silver cardstock through my Snowflakes embossing folder.

The sentiment was stamped and heat embossed with silver embossing powder.

I am really pleased with the effect. Might make a few more of these!

Red and Green Tilda

I have combined this week's Cute Card Thursday (red and green) with the Friday Sketcher. I found this sketch a bit of a challenge, piecing together all the layering.

I have rotated the sketch so the image fits better. I watercoloured the image in pencils and cut Tilda out using my new Labels nesties. The dp are Dovecraft and Papermania Christmas papers. I inked all the edges in Papermania's green ink. I added buttons and ribbons from my stash, Prima flowers and snowflake charms.

My Magnolia Stampclub arrived this morning so I have eazi mounted them and inked them up ready to play tonight when the girls have gone to bed. Hopefully the cat (now a permanent member of the household) will let me craft - she likes to chase pencils while I am colouring, bat tweezers and sit on my lap demanding to be loved- very helpful.

WOJ challenge boys Christmas card

I really scratched my head with this one, as I do not have any of the Charlie Christmas stamps ... but I do have Oakley on a scooter ... and the little boy I mind wants one for Christmas so ...

I used Papermania papers and a Cuddly Buddly stamp - the idea being, has he been good enough to get his scooter? I added red metallic brads and green wire to complete it.

There is a little blue, but only smidge!

Dutch Dare Challenge #23

This week's Dutch dare challenge is to make a card using no fun stamps, just text stamps -EEEEKKKKK went I, I have non of them ...so ... a bit of cheating has gone on ...

I have used a Penny Black stickeroo!!! I have made quite a few Christmas cards using this set of stickers, and have kept all quite simple. I matted the sticker onto black and silver cardstock, ran some pearlised white card through my Snowflake embossing folder and matted that onto silver cardstock. The dp is last year's Dovecraft(yes I still have little bits of it around!) I added tourquise organza ribbon, and little gems to some of the snowflakes.

Its a fab challenge why not join in and have a go?

Here are a couple of other cards I made using the same stickeroo sheet and Dovecraft papers. I used the Bauble embossing folder for the background.

ABC Challenge Q is for ...

Quick card.
For this challenge you have 20 minutes to make your card once you have coloured your image.I chose this gorgeous WOJ image and used my nesties to cut her out. I used Basic Grey Boxer papers and navy blue cardstock, and inked the edges with dark blue ink. I finished it off with navy blue ric-rac, prima flowers and a PB Transparent sentiment. A total of 18 minutes from picking up my nesties to finishing!

Bind-it -all book

This is the first book I have made using my Bind-it-All. I think these little books are going to get rather addictive!!
I have used this week's papertake sketch to do the front - rather than curved cut ins I have done straight ones as I couldn't get the size right!
The papers are all Basic Grey, the image WOJ and the flowers Prima.

Spoonfull of sugar challenge 25

This week's Spoonfull challenge is to make a card for a child. I love Sugar Nellie's Arthur and have used it quite a lot for cards for Ellie and Beth's friends ... so here is another card using that fab stamp.I have kept it simple as it is for one of Ellie's friends who is 4 tomorrow. I watercoloured Arthur and matted him onto blue cardstock, and papers from DCWV Glitter matt stack. $ blue brads finish it off.
I'm definitely into the less is more card at the moment. I can also hear my flowers and ribbons crying out to be used LOL!
