Secret Crafter Saturday Challenge #43

Its Jill's turn this week to set the challenge and she has created a fabulous sketch.

I colored Tilda in and then distressed the image in worn lipstick and broken china. I matted the dp onto matching cardstock and punched some flowers and swirls. I love these papers so have tried not to hide too much of them!!
Do check out the other DT members creations.

There is a design tean call over La La land Crafts. Pop over and take a look.

Lilac!!

I seem to be getting into another colour theme at the mo (the pink phase is OVER!!!!). I do love lilac and will confess to around 100 metres of lilac and purple ribbon!!!! I have combined this week's Friday Sketcher .. I can't believe its almost a year since they set up, and I think I have done all of them!! ... with the Just Magnolia. I can't resist a bit of faux stitching!

I watercoliured the iamge and cut her out. I cut the layers out using some of my nesties and then went to town with the inking and stitching!! I matted Tilda so she is sitting just outside her background. I sneezed (hayfever/cold) as I was putting the first layer down so it is at a sharper angle than it should be - opps! I punched some flowers out of co-ordinating papers and inked them and added pearls. Finally I added the punched swirls. Oh I forgot - I added a bit of that huge amount of ribbon I have (isn't it so strokeable!!) I resisted the urge to decorate the plain corners, I think it might have made it too fussy.
The electricity came back on at just after 4pm ... it was a long day without the telly for Beth. She refused to have a sleep this afternoon and I could really have done with plonking her in front of anything with a colourful moving picture, just to help tip over the edge!!

Ellie crafted with me for a bit while Beth trashed the bedroom, and then we all tidied up ... for the umpteenth time today LOL!!

Well it is bedtime for the girls and then I need to cook Dave his tea ... he still isn't home! Hopefully I'll be back later to do some blog hopping.

I have exciting news for tomorrow...

Tilda with Flowers

I have had an almost craft and blogging free week this week as I have been busy at Preschool (I am on their Committee) and catching up with all my paperwork for childminding. But I have managed to make this card this afternoon for 2 challegnes, Just Magnolia which is a fab sketch by Bev, and Charisma Cardz, which is to make a thank you card.

I love this Tilda image, and watercoloured her and distressed the background. I had every intention to use my new K and Co McKenna photo mat stack, but even after breathing deeply I couldn't cut into it, so I resorted to the McKenna pad I have already cut into!!! I used my Fiskars threading water punch for the scalloping, and threaded my ribbon through the holes as it looked tidier. I punched the swirl and flower and glimmer misted them ... but the pink mist looks blue on these papers , hmmmm. Finally I added some flat backed pearls as gems didn't really show, and stamped the sentiment in Sepia ink.

I am hoping to get some blog hopping done later ... but I am a bit (well very!!) behind on my pink and brown ATCs for Becky.

We have friends for the weekend so no crafting now until Monday :(.

Have a great Bank Holiday weekend.

Edited -

I have just gone to add my card To the Just Magnolia blog and looked at the DT cards (I never look at them until after i have made the card as I like to approach it with out ideas from other people) ... but I have seen that Marcea has used the same papers as me ... so I'll be making another card now. Sorry Marcea, I didn't copy you hun, obviously great minds think alike!!

Citrus Tilda

Another quick, simple card for me this week as I can't do much crafting at the mo. I have used citrus colours (CUte Card Thursday challenge) and followed the sketch over at Charisma Cardz.

I coloured Tilda in using my distress inks and cut her out. I rotated the sketch to fit a potrait image and matted Tilda onto the papers. I added some punched and inked flowers, some ribbon and some gems and one of my new WOJ Swirls to finish.

Sketch and Stash #4

Becky has come up with a fab sketch for this Sketch and Stash ...
When I saw this I instantly thought gatefold card. So I have made a thank you/wedding acceptance for a couple of friends who ar getting married in a couple of months.
I used Valentine Tilda and edwin from the winter Stamp club. I coloured them in distress ink and distressed the edges in antique linen and tattered rose. I matted them in contrasting colours, and repeated the distressing and matting for the sentiment.
The new bit is the heart charm - sorry if you have seen it on recent cards .. I made this as soon as I got these gorgeous charms, and have used a few since.

Inside the card I have done the acceptance text in gold pen on a nestie label (hidden as it is personal), and satamped hearts in versamark and gold embossed them.
I am really looking forward to seeing eveyone else's take on the sketch .. so go on have a go.

Sarah Kay Bows

I don't normally get to do the Magnolia Vs Stampavie challenge as Sundays are the family day and then I often forget to do it later in the week. But hubby has been away and Ellie wanted to craft so while she was busy I had a go at this week's challenge which is bows.
This was my 1st go ...

I coloured Spring Blossoms in distress inks and cut her out. I adapted an Ismaki sketch for the card and used Making Memories papers. The lace, ribbon and flowers are all from my stash. I am not sure I like it - its a bit washed out for me ... but thats because I am trying to use up my papers ... and some that are left are the ones I am not as keen on!!
So I had another go ...

I used the same image coloured in distress inks and matted onto Basic Grey Sugared papers. I love the effect that Kim gets by distressing her backgrounds and after a little help from her I am having a go at it myself. The background is distressed in tattered rose and tea dye. The scroll corners are stamped in Versafine sepia and the tag and scroll are sizzix dies.

While I was busy Ellie was making her own cards ... helped by Miffy!

Not sure who is concentrating the most!!

Miffy giving a helping (?) paw!!
And finally (if you are still with me!) a card I made last night, as I had the evening to myself.

Not sure whose the papers are - bought them as single sheets, but the flowers are Prima and the scroll cut from my sizzix die. I followed this week's Friday Sketchers layout as it is such a fab sketch. Tilda is coloured in distress inks and the background distressed in milled lavender.

Wow - you've got to the end!!

Friday Sketcher

Its another fab sketch over at Friday Sketchers this week, designed by Mumur.
I used my latest one Tildas, Valentine Tilda, and coloured her in distress inks. I distressed the background and some of the papers in dusky plum ink. I used the same ink to stamp the scrolls. The papers are by Making Memories and the tag and swirls are Sizzix dies. The flowers are Prima and the organza ribbons from my stash. I used Versafine Sepia to stamp the PB sentiment and flowers on the tag, which again has been distressed in dusky plum.

I am just loving my distress inks!! They are a dream to colour with, and I think I am getting better!!

Have a great weekend everyone.

LOTV sketch

This week's LOTV challenge is a fab sketch by Donalda. I have altered it slightly, as I have used an oval rather than a circle for the image.

I coloured my latest Sarah Kay in in Pro markers and used a white gel pen to add some highlights. The Papers are by making Memories and I have inked all the edges in a dusky pink pad. I added pink swirls to the corners, a prima flower and pink organza. The sentiment is by Penny Black.
I am really pleased by the overall effect for a change - I normally start picking my cards to pieces the minute they are finished!

This is a 'just because' card that I made the other night.

I coloured Tilda in using Distress inks and faux stitched her and the K and Co papers. The heart and patch on her dress are decoupaged. I added prima flowers and ribbon from my stash.

I am still on the use up my stash drive. I have decided stamps aren't included in this resolution as you can't use them up ... so I have bought a few from the Glitterpot sale ... just don't tell the Hubby!

Friendship Tilda

I have combined this week's sketch from the Papertake Weekly Challenge and A Spoonfull of Sugar's challenge, to use paper piecing. I am still trying to thin my stash (so I can get more LOL!) and have found this pack of Papermania papers. I haven't used a single one ... not sure why I bought them as they are pink based!
I used Dala Tilda and paper pieced her dungarees. The rest I coloured in distress inks, including the Magnolia steps. I cut both Tilda and the steps out and matted them onto , more papers from the pack. I cut the corners out and found 3 Prima flowers that matched. I added the mesh ribbon and sentiment from a Making Memories Defined set.

Sketch and Stash Challenge #1

Becky, Chrissy and Lisa have launched a newly fortnightly challenge blog, Sketch and Stash, in which you follow a sketch and use something new/unused from your stash (there goes my resolution not to buy until I have used up my stash!!)

I coloured Tilda using my new (Christmas present!) promarkers and added part of a stamp from PB Transparent Salutations set in the corners using pink Papermania ink. The sentiment is from the same set. I matted Tilda on to Basic Grey Eva papers. Its the 1st time I have used this paper from the Eva pack - far to pink and busy for me, but perfect for my friend who will be getting it. I inked up 2 woodware corners and added ric rac and ribbon from my stash. The flowers are Prima (of course!).
There is a fab prize up for grabs so why don't you have a go?

New Year Card

I have finally got round to doing the Sketch Saturday sketch this week, and have combined it with the Spoonfull of Sugar challenge which is to make a News Years card.I have used bits and pieces from my Christmas papers, and my nesties to cut out the ovals. Tilda is watercoloured and I have added gold pen to the glass. The ribbon is from my stash and the flowers are Prima.

Tilda and Bell

I am getting a bit fed up with Christmas cards and don't seem to have any time to craft, so I have made this quick, simple one this morning. I have found it really hard matching papers to these flowers, so I have only used 2 lots of plain cardstock. I embossed the bp using my Cuttlebug Snowflakes embossing folder and then distressed it a bit. I matted Tilda after watercolouring her, added a bit of lace and 3 flowers. As it has snow and flowers on it, it meets both this week's Papertake Weekly Challenge and Spoonfull of Sugar.

Red and Green Tilda

I have combined this week's Cute Card Thursday (red and green) with the Friday Sketcher. I found this sketch a bit of a challenge, piecing together all the layering.

I have rotated the sketch so the image fits better. I watercoloured the image in pencils and cut Tilda out using my new Labels nesties. The dp are Dovecraft and Papermania Christmas papers. I inked all the edges in Papermania's green ink. I added buttons and ribbons from my stash, Prima flowers and snowflake charms.

My Magnolia Stampclub arrived this morning so I have eazi mounted them and inked them up ready to play tonight when the girls have gone to bed. Hopefully the cat (now a permanent member of the household) will let me craft - she likes to chase pencils while I am colouring, bat tweezers and sit on my lap demanding to be loved- very helpful.

Sledging Tilda

I adore this Tilda, but often only colour her blue. The Basic Grey Challenge this week was a colour combination, so I decided to have a go at being different. I chose the brown and cream combination, and so watercoloured Tilda in browns and creams. I used Co'ordinations textured cardstock for the backing and embossed it using my cuttlebug Snowflakes folder. Then I distressed to get the creamy colour. The dark brown paper is from Basic Grey's Archiac pack. I added a gold snowflake charm and cream prima flowers, with copper glitter added to them, and some copper wire.

I used the Sketch Saturday sketch this week, replacing 2 of the squares with flowers.

I am really pleased with how this turned out, particularly as I am not feeling that creative.

Tilda challenge - a sketch

This week's Tilda and Co challenge is a sketch, and I can't resist a sketch. I am on holiday at the mo,dog sitting for my Mum and Dad so I am working with a limited stash so not as much variety of papers and stash to play with.
Anyway I rotated the sketch due to the images Ipicked and came up with these ...

For this one, I watercoloured Tilda using my Promarkers and matted her onto cardstock. I used K and Co papers and faux stitched them. The ribbon and ric rac ae from my stash. The ribbon already has the stitching on it. I finished it off with some Prima flowers and a bit of red wire.

For this one I watercoloured Tilda and matted her onto cardstock. I used K and Co papers again, and faux stitched them. I added lace, Prima flowers and red wire.

Sorry the photos aren't brill - something to do with the light here in theLake district, as in there isn't much as it is raining!
Thank you for looking.

Tilda and wire

I haven't done a Sketch Saturday challenge before, so this is the week to start!!! I love the sketch and have had a lovely time creating this card (no children/husband/phone interruptions - bliss!!)

This has to be one of my favourite Tildas at the moment - I adore her little pigtails and dungarees. I have coloured her using my aqua promarkers and then matted her onto brown cardstock. The dp is Nostalgic Warn from Papermainia and brown cardstock. The green is from my scraps tray, and I used lace rather than scalloped paper. I went a bit mad with the faux stitching and did it all by hand rather than using my cutterbee - thats probably why there is a single stitch the same length! I finished it off with some Prima flowers and copper wire.

ABC challenge ...J is for ...

JEWELS
This week we would like to see jewels on your creations.

I made this wallet for my lovely SBS sister Becky, who has been a bit down. I have put in some stamped images for her to play with. I have also made it while Ellie has been poorly, so I have not spent as much time on it as I would have liked, and I have been 'helped' along the way by little fingers! The photo hasn't really done it justice either!

I used Making Memories papers - I bought this pack a while ago and find it quite difficult to use as it is often difficult to match up ribbon etc, but they seem to work here. Tilda has been cut out using my nesties, and the lace, ribbon, wire and jewels are from my stash. The heart jewels are courtesy of Ellie and Beth (I wouldn't have used them!!). I have used one of Katharina's latest sketches for the layout.

CCT meets Dutch Dare

I have combined the Dutch Dare challenge of no square edges with the CCT challenge of having food on your card.I have used one of my new Tildas for the card - still not sure what she has got in her basket, recognise the mushroom, but not much else!!! She is watercoloured using water colour pencils. I have used a set of Making Memories papers I don't often use, particularly for cards with female images on them. I have played around with the layout a bit and tried to do something
a bit different for me. The flowers are prima and the lace and wire from my stash.

ABC challenge I is for ...

INDIVIDUAL

This week the ABC I challenge is for Individual. We are lucky to be sponsored by Inklebods who have given a wonderful stamp called Mikey for the winner. The winner will also be asked to join the design team as a regular team member, so if you are interested pop over to the ABC Challenge to find out more.

We would like to see your best work, in your favourite style and medium, we want to see your own individual style.

I love this Tilda image, and have coloured her in using my Promarkers. I chose brown and red/pink as a colour scheme as it is quite rich and autumnal, and I love the colours and light effects we get in autumn.

I used my nestibilities to cut all the ovals and oval frames. For the smaller ovals I used a technique I haven't used for a while, serendipity (or collage to any teachers out there!!), as I love the hotchpotch effect it creats. The papers are K and Co and Papermania and the brown card is from my stash. I added some faux stitching, ribbon and copper wire. The flowers are Prima, with tiny gems in the middle.

If you have time, why don't you have a go at the challenge.

New Tildas!!

I love my hubby!! He has got me the Magnolia StampClub as a "I love you" pressie. I am partially suspicoius as he was educating me on what they call flowers, chocs etc in Germany when husbands buy them - something to do with dragons - hmmmm!

Anyway, it was a huge surprise when it dropped on the mat this morning!! The girls went to Tumble Tots and while Ellie was doing her 'stuff' (her words not mine!!) I eazi mounted them all and then inked them up when I got home. They are fab!

So I have put the girls to bed early and had a play.

I have used Katharina's fabulous sketch from this week's Papertake Weekly Challenge with this fab stamp. I coloured her using my Aqua Promarkers and matted her onto K and Co papers. The lace is from my stash and the flowers are primas. I love this layout as it isn't too fussy and lets the image really stand out.

This is the card I am going to send to my Mum and Dad for Harvest. I love this Tilda, but not sure what flowers she is holding, so i have given her sedum as mine is blooming in the garden. Edwin is holding some veg ... I think! I have again used K and Co papers, and the images are watercoloured using water pencils. I added faux stitching, ric-rac, copper wire (I am getting the hang of it more now!) and some Prima flowers.
