Papertake Weekly Challenge - Guest Designer spot

Its my 2nd week guest designing for the Papertake Weekly Challenge.  The theme this week is Trully Dimensional ... we want to see lots of dimension and layers, nothing flat!!

I think I might have been a bit ambitious with this one!!!  I stamped this gorgeous House Mouse stamp out 5 times and then used my Labels nesties to cut them out in descreasing sizes.  I coloured the iamges in using my promarkers and then layered them up using 3d pads.  The dp is Making Memories Ethan, and I added some card candy to complete it.

Challenges;
A Spoonfull of Sugar - all creatures great and small

Cute and girly

I have not been working today, so after a brisk trot home from Pre-school, I spent an hour in my craft room making a card for some challenges:
Stamp with fun - Stripes
Pollycraft - Summer Blooms
Papertake Weekly Challenge - Say it with flowers
A Spoonfull of Sugar - Cute and Girly
Passion for Promarkers - Fantasy/Mythical
Just Magnolia - One for the Girls
Creative Inspirations - fairies
I am loving this latest Magnolia collection, and used my promarkers to colour this sweetie in. I used my nesties to cut the matt out and then inked the edges. I love these BG papers and they are so pretty and girly. I raided the last dregs of my Poppicraft flowers for the blooms and added some organza ribbon. I need to find a new outlet for my flat flowers ... any suggestions?

The card is for a friend's birthday on Thursday. I am hoping she won't notice the wonky bits, yes there are wonky bits as walking home meant walking across Rape seed fields and through a small wooded area ... fab for the hayfever!!! I have sneezed all morning!

I am plannnig to catch up with some DT work later on ... just putting my feet up with a cup of tea before the school run!

Dark Royalty

A friend came round to craft this morning, as I hadn't got any children so no Mums and Tots. While she stamped up nearly every stamp I own (and I own a fair few!!) I had a go at colouring this Sweet Pea Stamp in. They are growing on me, and I might be adding to my collection of 2!
I made the card up this afternoon for these challenges:
Sweet Pea Stampers - Under the Sea
Papertake Weekly - Do Something Else - I never add removables to my card, but I have added a tag that comes away
Simon Says Stamp - buttons, bow and bling
Eveybody-Art-Challenge - song title - Waterboys Song of the Mermaid
Truly Scrumptious - sketch and removable part - tag

I coloured this mermaid with my pens. I chose these papers as they remind me of the colours of the sea, and some look a little like anemones. In real life she is not quite as pale ... the light is weird here today. I added bows to the ribbons, and a button. I used papermania shimmer dots to make the swirls ... they are fab, clear domes with glitter in them. I thought they looked like sparkly bubbles. I made the tag and stamped Happy Birthday on it, it pulls out.

Finally a card for a challenge or 2

I have a stinking cold and cough, with hayfever thrown in, so crafting is not happening at the moment! It has taken me 2 days to get this card completed!
It fits these challenges:
Passion for Promarkers - in the garden
A Spoonfull of Sugar - Happy Birthday
Papertake Weekly - sketch
I love these manga stamps from the Secret Crafter and have coloured Mollie using my promarkers. I followed the sketch from Papertake Weekly, just swapping the text for a flower. I stamped the sentiment down the side of the image. Its from a papermania Clare Curd set, and I have to admit to being dissappointed, it never stamps crisply, even though I have cleaned it, selloptaped it etc to try to get a crsip image.

We have the Jolly Joust at Preschool today ... that promises to be fun!!

My first hAnglar Stanglar card

Yresterday my lovely postie dropped my Magnolia kit, 2 hAnglar Stanglar kits and magnolia Ink through my letterbox!!! Created the problem of having to decide what to play with first!!!
So having spent some time eazi mounting them ... I shut my eyes and picked ... this little cutie.
I have coloured her using my pens and then created the background by using the chisel end of my blender pen and then going over with satin and Tea green. I lightened up patches with my blender pen and added shadows. I stamped the swirl round using one of my pattern stamps and Duck egg promarker. I added some pearls and some punched flowers.

The card covers the following challenges:
A Spoonfull of Sugar - sketch
Papertake Weekly - cutie pie
passion for Promarkers - create your own background only using promarkers
Creative Card Crew - Happy Birthday
My Time to Craft - pearls

Arrrrrrrrrrrrrrrh!!!

I have finally found time to play with some of my new stamps from the NEC. We are off to my parents for a week tomorrow and being a saddo I have packed loads of crafting stash .. I am going to play while I am away!!
Anyway when I saw these stamps i just had to buy them. The card I have made covers these challenges:
Just Magnolia - sketch (a bit loosely at the bottom!!)
Passion for Promarkers - use 2 images
Papertake weekly - open theme
Creative card Crew - vintage/aged (well its distressed and inked and pirates are from the olden days!!)
Simon Says Stamp - distressing
I masked Edwin onto the barrel and coloured using my promarkers, then cut out. I matted it onto the dp, which I matted onto black cardstock. Both the dp and cardstock have been distressed using my Tim Holtz tool (I could not live without it!) and the dp has been distressed using antique linen and weathered wood distress inks. I cut the ickle flags and rope out of some of the dp, and the sentiment is from Cuddly Buddly.

Sparkly Spring

I made this card last night for the follwoing challenges:
Papertake weekly - sketch
Passion for promarkers - Spring and an animal
Polly craft challenge - sparkle
Everybody-Art-challenge - Easter
Simon Says Stamp - Easter/Spring and glimmer
Stamp with Fun - Easter
Magical Crafts Fortnightly Challenge - Easter/Spring
Our Creative Corner - Easter
Sweet Stampin Challenge - Spring is in the Air
Allsorts Challenge - Spring is in the Air
Stampin for the Weekend - Easter
I coloured the image using my pens and added finme glitter glue to the flower and round the edge of the image. I love this sparkly paper from DCWV Nursery stack, and is so spring like. The flower is glimmered with gold glimmer mist and I added a sparkly brad from the bottom of my stash! I am sending this to my neice for Easter ... they do the chocloate bit of Easter but not the religious bit so I tend to make Spring cards for them.

Super Ryan

It seems ages since i made a card ..but its actually only a few days!! This fab stamp arived this morning (thank you Lacey!) and I just had to ink him up!!
The card fits a few challenges -

Wags 'n' Whiskers - tags/bookmarks
Papertake Weekly Challenge - sketch
A Spoonfull of Sugar - Recycle

I coloured Ryan in and matted him onto brown cardstock. I used these fab Archiac papers ... the dinos seemed a bit superhero-ish, and I also struggle to use this sheet. I added tags ties with raffia from a bunch of flowers I recently got, and wrote my own sentiment. I wrapped the raffia round the dp as well. Finally a button to finish it.

I'm off to make a chilli and hopeully will find my way into my craft room later on. I am going to do some serious catching up on the blog hopping front too!!

Finally a card

I haven't done any crafting this week thanks to an incident with the cat and the stairs, which involved a fair bit of pain on my part ... the cat is fine ... if a little contrite! I finally got back into my craft room last night and aftersome hufffing and puffing and a lot of ouching I made a card to cover a few challenges:
Papertake Weekly Challenge - buttons, bows, brads and bling
Creative Card Crew - Celebrations
Simon Says Stamp - Mothers Day/girly
Cute Card Thursday - Lucky Green
Creative Inspirations - Lace, pearls and pins (no pins as I little fingers who like to help themselves to my stash ... so pins not safe)
Stampavie and More - Spring
Totally Papercrafts - Mother's Day/Special lady
Stamp Something - Something girly
Stampin'for the weekend - Monochromatic (I think its pretty monochromatic!!)

I have made this card for my Mum ... not her Mothering Sunday card ... but her birthday card as her birthday is in early April.
I used my pens to colour Tilda and then matted her onto green and cream cardstock. I decided to go with just 1 dp and keep the layout simple. I threaded the ribbon through the raffia lace and added a bow with a button at the centre. I added some pearls and gems (not a lot of bling, but a bit!!) and a couple brads to the image for detail .. .and thats pretty much it.

We have friends' coming for the weekend and then I am working full time all next week so very little crafting time on the horizon :(, and little time for blogging ... I have been a terrible blogger this week ... but hopefully will catch up with you all soon.

A challenge card at last

We're back from a few days away and feeling slightly more refreshed!! Beth's impetigo has almost gone and Ellie is off school for the week so lots of nice thingss planned.
The children are still tired from their time away and chose to have a chill time this afternoon in front of the telly ... they ended up watching it through their eyelids!!!

So I made a card for some challenges:
Quixotic Cards - tag it
Simon Says Stamp - Whats love got to do with it
Just Magnolia - Love
Friday Sketcher - sketch
Allsorts - recipe - 3,2,1 ... I used 3 flowers (and buttons!), 2 patterned papers, 1 ribbon
A Spoonfull of Sugar - Springtime
Passion for Promarkers - buttons and bows
Papertake Weekly - Check this out (checks/gingham)

I colouredTilda in and then cut her out. I matted her onto oval dp and scalloped oval cardstock (I love my nesties!!!). The dp is edged with pink ink. I added yellow ribbon and a bow. I punched flowers out of the dp and added white buttons. Finally a tag stamped with the sentiment.

Passion for Promarkers - all creatures great and small
Papertake weekly Challenge - love actually

Henry was stamped and masked so I could add the roses. I used my promarkers to colour him, red I find particularly difficult to shade with ... might need to buy a few more reds!!! I used my nesties to cut the image, squares and mats out. I added some brown organza ribbon and tied some red organza knots. A couple of roses and punched leaves to finish.
He does look a happy mouse doesn't he!!

Aqua and cocoa

This week's Passion for Promarkers challenge theme is aqua and cocoa ... not 2 colours I would put togwther usually ... but I think they go really well with this dp.

I used the sketch from this week's Papertake Challenge. Tilda is promarkers and then cut ot. As the paper is busy I just matted it onto cardstock and added some ribbon and card candy.
Still sticking to my simple and not fussy resolution!!

Some cards ..at last!

I haven't done much crafting over Christmas, just some DT stuff to get myself ahead, but no challenges :(. I had intended to do some at the weekend at my parents but I forgot the stuff to stick with and the snow was a bit of distraction!

We were forcast light snow and sleet overnight - 7" and rising at the last look!! It has snowed heavily during the night and is still snowing heavily .. so I haven't worked today, and the girls are at home so we have had a bit of a play in the snow, crafting, more snow, and now they are crashed in front of a DVD!!
And I have had time to make these ...

The first card is for my SIL - baby due very soon.
I combined the following challenges:
Passion for Promarkers - sketch and love theme
A Spoonfull of Sugar - hearts
Charisma Cardz - celebration
Fuss and Fancy - New
Papertake Weekly - New Beginnings
Cupcake Card Challenge - baby card
Stamp something for the weekend - New Beginnings
By the cute and girly - New

Will ow is coloured using my promarkers nad then I cut her out as she was rather large for the circle!!! I used papers from the DCWV Nana Nursery stack and embssed some pale pink card with my hearts folder. I added some ribbon and a heart charm. I am going to add baby's name when she arrives ... got 6 so far!!!!

This card combines
Stamp with fun - sketch
My Time to Craft - blue and brown
Stamp Something - new somethings (my stamp)
One Stop Craft Challegne - things beginnig with B (blue, brown, bow)
I love this Tilda from the winter kit ... she has a right attitude!! I coloured her using promarkers and had a play with my blender pen. i made my own flower and added some ribbon and pearls. The papers are Basic Grey Wisteria. No sentiment yet as I am not sure what I am going to use it for.

My final card uses the following challenges:
Totally Gorguss - Thank you
A Spoonfull of Sugar - Hearts
Creative Inspirations - thank you
My Time to Craft - blue and brown
Cute Card Thursday - sketch
One Stop Craft Challenge - things beginning with B (blue, brown, bow)
This has to be one of my fave gorguss girls and I coloured her using promarkers. Again she is cut out to fit the sketch! I rotated the sketch and added a bow and sentiment. Again I used my lovely Wisteria papers

I don't often set New Year's resoultions as they are always broken ... but this year I am gonig to use all the stash I have so I can buy new and have space for it!! And make the kind of CAs cards I like rather than really fussy ones all the time ... need to make a few of those as I have a rather large flower collection!!

Look what I made .... eventually!!!

So it has taken me nearly a week to produce what I am showing today .. good job I can link them to some challenges!!!

The first is an easel card for my Godmother ...it is her birthday at Christmas so she always gets a Christmas themed card ... kills two birds with one stone so to speak.
This card covers theses challenges:
Just Magnolia - Christmas
Sketch Saturday - sketch
Basic Grey Challenges - cream, pink and blue
Allsorts - pearls and swirls
Totally Gorguss - Free and Easy
Create4fun - easel card
Magnolia Down Under - bedazzledThis gorgeous Tilda is coloured using distress inks and then I inked the edges of the image and dp. I added stickles to the image - might have just got a little carried away ... having added baby blue ... I had to add some cotton candy!!!
I used organza ribbon and added a fab tea rose, glimmered and glamoured and some punched swirls and some flat backed pearls.
Here's the sketch element.
Here's a close up of the image and sparkle.

This is for a crafting friend ... and I used these challenges -
A Spoonfull of Sugar - monochrome
Papertake Weekly - no red or green
Passion for Promarkers - Christmas theme, but not a card
Friday sketcher - sketch
Simon Says Stamp - snow
Whiff of Joy - sparkle
Uru and his littl friend are coloured using Promarkers and then stickled. I kept the papers simple and just added lace and punched snowflakes which were liberally stickled too!! I added fluffy stuff to make the snow under Uru's feet.
The box/bag is made using two bottoms for a gift box I use and adding vellum inbetween ... so you can't see your pressie!! The box/bag is tied using some gingham ribbon, so all you need to do is untie the ribbon and take the lid off ... just need to think about how to post it now LOL!!
Ellie has finally opened the last of her birthday presents we can start on Christmas!! I bought a whole salmon today that is now filleted and in the freezer (guess what the girls chose for Christmas dinner!!) and the cat is happy!! Oh and cubed 5lb of topside for hotpot on Christmas Eve ... not just for the 4 of us I hasten to add!!
So we are off to get the tree tomorrow, and the Christmas music will come out, and I need get wrapping those pressies! But the cards are written and posted!

A couple of cards

Dear hubby is in late - he's dining in London tonight, so I ate with the children and settled down in my craft room when Ellie and Beth went to bed. Here are the fruits of my labour:
The first combines the Passion for Promarkers colour combo, Marsh green and burnt umber, with the Papertake Weekly Challenge sketch - another fab one by Dawn.

I coloured the image (thanks Jen!!) using my promarkers and then matted onto green and brown cardstock. The dp is Basic Grey Infuse, and I matted it onto cardstock, folded the corners and added brads. Iadded organza ribbon and green ric rac and a ric rac bow. Very fitting for the weather at the mo!!!

The next card uses the Everybody-Art-Challenge sketch, Allsorts theme, card for a child, and the baby's 1st Christmas theme over at A Spoonfull of Sugar. I made this card for Maddy.

I have kept it very simple - I think little ones need strong colours and not too much detail. I love this LOTV bear, and I coloured him using distress inks. The dp is DCWV and I added loops of red ric rac rather than flowers or snowflakes - a bit more touchy feely for a little one. Some gold distressing and stickles finishes it off.

My craft room feels like a stranger to me at the moment - what with having been poorly and working extra hours (thinking of the crafting stash to buy when I have time!!) I have hardly been in there. Hopefully this weekend I will have time to get in there and catch up with the Christmas cards LOL!!!

A couple of quick cards

I have finally completed a couple of quick cards ... well they would have been quick if I had made them in one go!!!
The first one uses the Papertake Weekly sketch (another fabby one) that I have flipped, Stampavie and more's Stars challenge, and Creative Inspirations colour challenge - red and black.
I have had this Gorguss girl coloured in these colours for a few days - big intentions to make a card for a friend of Ellie's (she's a big girl - 10 next birthday!!!) I used flipped the sketch and stamped a border. The stars are made with my nesties, cut onto black card and then gold embossed, as is the sentiment. Simple black ribbon with some red ric-rac finishes it. The colour combo is stunning, and the gold just adds a bit!

This card is for a friend's wedding - I don't usually do wedding cards, but I thought I would make their card for a change.
I used the Create4fun sketch and the allsorts wedding challenge.
The glasses are stamed in versamark and embossed using gold embossing powder. The paper is from my stash. I used black velvet ribbon to add a bit of texture, and the greeting isn't an oval as it would have been huge with congratulations written in it!! I have kept it simple and added no flowers as I wanted a glittery, stylish card.

Sorry about the bad light - it has rained all day today and trying to find a light place has been ... well impossible!

A couple of cards ...

I have had a couple of hours in my craft room this morning to create, before we go away for the weekend.
The first card is to go with a tub of biscuits the girls have made.
It covers the following challenges:
Friday sketcher - sketch
Just Magnolia - monochrome - I chose greens
A spoonful of Sugar - kiten/cooking
Magnolia down Under - distressing

Tilda is coloured using distress inks. I masked her onto the plate and then cut her out (well after the cat walked across the image with muddy feet!!). I used these gorgeous K and CO Charlotte papers and matted them onto green cardstock. I made my own flower and added ric-rac and a charm. The sentiment is supposed to be at angle.

Then I had to make the compulsory Christmas card LOL!!
It covers the following challenges:
Cucake Challenge - sketch
Whiff of Joy - red, cream and 1 other (teal)
Passion for Promarkers - animals
Papertake Weekly Challenge - spots and stripes
Simon Says Stamp - All that Sparkles
Henry is coloured using promarkers and cut out using my nesties. The papers are MME - I had to take some deep breathes before I cut into them!! The flowers are from a prima Christmas bauble and the ribbon from my stash. I just need to add the sentiment - going to do a few computer generated ones.

Have a great weekend, and don't forget to take a peek at my candy.

The dark side

So I've been playing. Its been too long since I had my inks and masks out, so I have had a play tonight and combined a couple of challenges:
Passion for Promarkers - sketch
Papertake Weekly Challenge - the Dark Side
I coloured the image in using promarkers and then made my background. The panels are made using BG paper and shimmery lime green ribbon. I coloured some mulberry flowers and added lime green brads and a witches hat charm. The bracket replaces the text and was coloured using lime green promarker.

How I made the paper:
On my craft mat I mixed weathered wood and dusty concorde distress inks and covered the cardstock with it. I placed the masks and then used dusty concorde, weathered wood and black soot to distress the cardstock. Before removing the masks I spritzed it all using blue frost glimmer mist as I wanted to creat a moon shimmer.

Where does the time go?!

I can't believe it is already Sunday afternoon ... where does the time go? I have finished off a couple of cards I started last night - hubby's finally got round to placing a light in my craft room so I can colour properly - well I would be able to if my water brush was behaving!!!
We took the girls to a miniature railway yesterday, as it was Dave's big boss's retirement do ... just a round trip of 6 hours on the train!!! The girls loved it as they got to go on 4 trains (we had to go into London and out) and they could colour and draw, unlike being trapped in the car for hours!! Here's a pic of them and a little train!! Beth loved going on the trains and Ellie spent her time catching fairies in the woods ... we now apparently have 12 living with us. I wonder how good they are at ironing, washing up ...!!!
I made it into my craft room last night and coloured the images for the two cards I am going to show, and chose the papers.

The first is for the following challenges:
Just Magnolia - sketch
Roses on Paper - orange, brown and green, plus sketch
Stampin' for the weekend- orange, brown and leafy green (glad you're back girls!)
Stamp Something - Brown plus

OK in the sketch the image is circular, but Tilda didn't look right so she's oval!!! I watercoloured her and distressed the background. I used my favourite autumnal papers and matted them onto green and brown cardstock. Rather than used flowers I stamped some leaves and gold embossed them, and cut them out.
Roses on Paper are doing a DT call if you are interested.

The second card is for Alison Acton (one of Whiff of Joy's artists) as sahe and her husband are expecting their first baby really soon. Katharina would like everyone to send her a card and there is candy up fro grabs.
I used the Penny Black Saturday Challenge, Buttons and Bows, Cute Card Thursday's Charms, and the Papertake Weekly sketch.

I used this gorgeous PB image as I love it for baby cards and watercoloured it. I matted the dp on yellow cardstock and added some ribbon, buttons and an ickle flower. The sentiment is from WoJ's baby sentiments.

Recipe:
Stamp(s): Magnolia Tilda with Basket, autumn leaf; Penny Black Baby Hammock, WoJ baby sentiments
Colouring Media: Distress inks
Papers: Basic Grey Mellow; DCWV Nursery Stack
Embellishments: ribbon, buttons, flower, charm from stash
