Sugar Sugar beads!

OK so I am the first to admit I am a bit of a Sugar Nellie fan, so the new blog and and its sister blog have appealed to say the least!!
As a childminder I have started amking plaques for all the rooms in our house so the children know what is in them and where they can go. So I am making door plaques that will go in simple Ikea frames.
So I have used Marlene's tutorial on paper beads and Tiets sketch to create the plaque for my craft room. The tutorial for the paper beads can be found on the sugar sugar site. I was amazed at how easy they were to make.
This is Tiet's sketch

and this is the best photo I can do of the plaque!!

I have mounted it onto cream hammered card that has been distressed using Versafine Sepia and Papermania Earth tones. The lettering is Cuttlebug Olivia. I used my Hero Arts scroll stamps to add scrolls to the corners of the card.
The image is the gorgeous birdhouse, which to be honest I find too big for many of my card projects. I have coloured it using my Distress inks and created a background using them too. I distressed the edges in sepia and earth tones and did a bit of faux stitching. All the papers are Making Memories and Stampin Up. I scalloped the edge of one using my SU scallop punch.

The beads I made using off cuts from the papers - how therapeutic is bead making - a feel a new hobby coming on!! The buttons and ribbon are from my stash.

Hi Cathy,
Gorgeous - bet the children love your door plaques. I'm giggling - I've got a PB Hedgie in his bath - should I do a plaque for my bathroom?
(The family all think I'm nuts anyway).
Going to practise my paper beads now.
All the best to you and your family for 2009.
hugs Heather xx

Hi Cathy
It's gorgeous, of course it fits perfectly with the 'Sugar Sugar' challenge. Could I just ask that you leave another comment on the Sugar Sugar post for Paper Beads, just so that I remember when it comes to choosing the Guest Sweetie spot!
Thanks so much for joining in both of the challenges, and as you were the first to do both (and both are sooo gorgeous), please email me and I will send you an 'eye candy' blinkie to wear with pride!
Kisses
