Secret Crafter Saturday Challenge week 41

This week's challenge is set by Gina and it is spots and stripes.
I've used my new Gorguss girl and Bitersweet papers. The image is coloured using promarkers and I matted it using my nesties. I cut the corners using my nesties too (so much neater than my cutting!). The flowers and swirl are punched and I added flat backed pearls to finish.
Do check out the other DT cards.
I am at a church sale this morning, hopefully selling lots of cards!!
Have a good weekend.

Christmas in July

Another combined challegne card, and the first Christmas card in ages!! I have used Colour Create's White and Blue theme with Papertake's sketch and Cute Card Thursday's Christmas theme.
It was a quick card - I find that the orders I get for Christmas cards are for simple cards with few embellies ... so here it is.
Snowy is coloured using promarkers and stickles. I cut him out and matted him onto the snowflake dp, which was matted onto white cardstock. I added white ribbon and some punched snowflakes which I added stickles to. And voila!!
Off to pick the girls up from pre-school - hopefully it will stay dry this afternoon so they can get out in the garden - less tidying up inside!!

Ruby and Gold Willow

Beth has had a bad viral bug (tamiflu prescribed but not needed thankfully) so I haven't done any crafting for a couple of days. She's back at preschool today so I have spent the morning card making :)
I have combined 4 challenges for this card:
A Spoonfull of Sugar - sketch
Passion for Promarkers - ruby and gold, jewels and gems
Whiff of Joy - piercing
Simon Says Stamp - summer fruits
I coloured Willow using my promarkers and inked the edges of the image and pierced it. I embossed the ruby cardstock with my Sytlised flowers folder. I added somer matching ribbon to one of the panels, and rather than using flowers added strawberries.

DDCC challenge 56

The Dutchdare Card challenge this time is to use die cuts and punches on your cards.
I coloured my image using copics and promarkers and cut it and the mats out using my nesties. I matted the dp onto cardstock and cut a tag out using my sizzix tag die. I added gold organza ribbon, and then punched some flowers and leaves. I inked the edges of the flowers and leaves with gold ink.

Do take a peek at the other DT creations.

ABC challenge W is for ...

Window
We would love to see windows on your creations.
I thought I would combine a window with an aperature window (and I regretted it!!).

I stamped up the window, chair and Valentine Tilda, watercoloured them, and cut them out. I usedbrown cardstock and added some textured papers (thank you Becky), and stuck the window in the middle. Using a stencil template and distress ink I created the rambling vine. I then moved onto the inside and decorated both sides of the inside. Then (and I so regretted having the idea at this point) I cut the window panes out of the image through the cardstock and base. It took ages as there are so many layers and I broke a blade!!

I added punched flowers, which I backed so you don't get white on the inside of the card and some pearls.

Having neatened it all up I positioned Tilda on her chair so she is peeking through the window. I kept the inside plain as I started runing out of time!!

Do check out the other DT creations, especially our newest member of the DT Dawn.

Decoupage!

Crafting is on a tight schedule for the next few weeks as my workload has doubled overnight!! I'm not sure how I am going to keep track of which children I am minding when LOL!!
Anyway, just Beth at home this morning so I have combined this week's Next Level challenge (sketch and decoupage) with Stamp with Fun's punches and die cuts challenge.
I coloured the images using my promarkers and cut out the base image. The circles are cut using my nesties and I punched flowers and leaves and added a bit of gold ink to the edges.
When I fisrt got this Wisteria paper I was a little unsure - some of it seemed a bit wishy washy for me ... but now I love it!
Heres' a view of the decoupage - I decoupaged the coat and hat up one layer and the flower, fox'es head and tail up two layers.

Saturday Creations

Me and the girls are spending the wekend in the Lake District with my parents, so I have had a little time to make a couple of cards.
The first is for this week's Sketch Saturday. Its a fab sketch and I have rotated it.
I watercoloured the image and distressed the edges in Scattered Straw, dried marigold and shabby shutters. I added braid to the dp (very stokeable this paper!) and punched some flowers and added pearls.

My mum has asked me to make a card for her - strict instructions - NO flowers, fibbon, buttons or fuss. I have made this using this week's Penny black Saturday Challenge (swirls) and Stampin for the weekend's colour challenge (red and brown).

I coloured the image and matted it onto cardstock. I put some red cardstock through my D'vine Swirls folder and cut a panel and 2 squares. I pierced the edges of the cardstock and then put my hands behind my back so as not to grab ribbon, punches, buttons!! Mum loves it ... I NEED to add to it!!
Off to play out while it is still nice.

Secret Crafter Saturday Challenge #40

This week's challegne has been set by Jane and it is this fabulous sketch.
And here's my take on it ...

Its a simple card as I have made it for one of the little boys I mind ... he was 4 last Monday and is obsessed with our train track. He got lots of Thomas accessories, including a giggling truck!
Anyway - the image is from Crafty Dowloads (link on my sidebar) and I coloured it using my promarkers. I matted the image and the dp onto navy cardstock. As it is for a little boy I have kept all the embellishments to a minimum - just brads.

The last two DT cards have been quite plain and simple - I promise something a bit more elaborate next week!
Do have a peek at the other DT creations and have a go yourself.

Friday Sketcher

Its another fab sketch over at Friday Sketchers and here's my take on it.
I coloured my image using copics - need more practise with these - am finding promarkers easier to blend! I inked the cardstock in purple ink and kept the sketch simple as the dp is very busy. Instead of flowers i used ribbon knots each side of the image.

Thank you Magnolia

A combined challenge again for me .. time is so short, and getting shorter at the moment!!
I have combined Cute Card thursday Thank you Miss, Just Magnolia's sketch and paper piecing over at Simon Says Stamp and come up with this ...

I paper peiced and promarkered Tilda. I matted all the dp on pale blue card stock and kept the flower details simple. This is going to Ellie's Preschool leader - not a very fussy woman and definitely not pink - a lady after my own heart lOL!!
