Wags n Whiskers cards

I am really struggling crafting at the moment ... runny eyes and sneezing makes colouring really hard!! But I had a morning to myself, so decided to use the time in my craft room, so closed the lounge door so I couldn't see the pile of ironing to do!!

The first card covers these challenges:
Passion for Promarkers - sketch and handmade flowers
Creative Card Crew - April Showers bring May Flowers

I coloured this Wags n Whiskers image using my promarkers and matted it onto cardstock. The papers are by papermania (Pink Parfait) and matted onto cardstock. The image was just a bit big for the sketch really .. but hey ho!! I punched flowers and added pearls to their centres and round the edge of the circle element.

The second card (started on Friday I have to admit!!) covers these challenges:

Colour Create - burnt orange, black and cream, option of checks
Ryan is coloured using promarkers and I confess to not using black on the image ... too harsh! The ornage dp is MME Everyday Tango, and the black(and grey - oppps!) paper is DCWV - hoping harlequin checks count as checks! I punched circles and added buttons to their centres and 3 large brads to complete the elements of the sketch.

Off to get another box of tissues ... roll on Autumn!!

Saturday's creations

What a busy week ... and no time for crafting! I have finally made a couple of cards this morning while hubby took the girls for their swimming lesson.
The first card is made using the following challenges:
Friday Sketchers - sketch
Just Magnolia - hearts and flowers

Colour Create - soft pink, soft blue, silver and white
A Spoonfull of Sugar - freestyle

I coloured Valentine Tilda using copics and edged the image in silver ink. The papers are by Papermania and the sentiment stamp by Penny Black. I heat embossed the silver heart (s freebie from a magazine last year) and added lace and flowers from my stash.

This card follows the sketch at Whiff of Joy challenge, and the baubles theme at Bah Humbug.

I watercoloured Henry and then added gloss to the bauble. When the gloss was dry I stickle d the bauble and added stickles to the edge of the image. The papers are Basic Grey Wassail, and the sentiment Hero Arts. I added organza ribbon and some punched and layered snowflakes.

Flower Power

Hurrah no more Christmas cards ... until January when I am going to try to make two a week so November and December are not such a mad rush on red and green!!!

I haven't used this image for ages, so I stamped her up, watercoloured her and cut her out. I used the sketch from Whiff of Joy (would like to show that one too, but I had an incident with the cat, stickles and an interesting pattern of glitter!!) and rotated it so I could make the oval an aperature. I added flowers and some ribbon and braid and a feather thingy I have had for ages. Inside i stamped a corner floral pattern using burgundy ink.

Today I am making Christmas cards with the children so my house will be sparkling with sequins and glitter!!

Ellie's birthday card

My big little girl is 5 on Monday, so hubby has taken the girls out this morning so I can get her birthday card made.
As ever I have managed to combine a few challenges!!

I masked Tilda onto the steps and watercoloured her, before cutting her out. The dp is matted onto purple cardstock and acqua cardstock. I cut two circles out of Coredinations gemstone white cardstock and embossed one using the birthday folder and wrote Ellie on the other using a Sakura Stardust pen. I added some purple ribbon, purple gems, these gorgeous gardinia flowers which were glimmer misted and glamour dusted before having tulle added to them, and finally a princess crown charm.
To hold the image part of the easel card up, I glued and then glamour dusted a big black brad, and added some more purple ribbon.

And here's my little one this time last year when she had her tonsils out - she got 49 gorgeous get well cards from you lovely bloggers ... and still looks at them and still has the cards and pictures she made with the lovely things you sent her.
We are now off to the school's Christmas fair, before getting ready for party 1 ... roast lamb for 9!!! Just hope the tin is big enough for it LOL!!!

A couple more Christmas Cards

I am trying very hard to get a few Christmas cards made, as a couple of friends have asked for a few!
Both cards fit Colour Create's red, green and white challenge.
For this one I used the sketch from Sketch Saturday and Animal Antics from Simon Says Stamp.
These LOTV bunnies are watercoloured and I added stickles to their hats. The papers are Basic Grey and I used lace and flowers from my stash. The white flowers are inked a bit as they looked too white!! The sentiment is Papermania.

This card uses a Father Christmas from Whiff of Joy. He is watercoloured and the background distressed in aged mahogany and weathered wood. I followed the sketch over at Stamp with Fun, and distressed the edges of the Basic Grey papers.

Ellie is off poorly today so I haven't been working, just doing the after school bit for a couple of children. Hopefully she will be back at school tomorrow. It has given me the time to rummage through my stamps and list a few on Ebay ... I really do need to reduce my stamp collection as I am running out of space!!! if you fancy a peek, you can find them here.

A few Christmas cards

I am struggling trying to keep up with photographing the cards I am making with such dull weather. Here are three that I have made over the last couple of days.

Creative inspirations - Sparkle
Uru is watercoloured and I distressed the edges of the image with vintage photo, walnut stain and aged mahogany. Th edp and the music paper is also distressed using the same inks. I added the flowers and leaf, and stamped the sentiment straight on the dp using maghogany ink. The sparkle is in the dp - sadly the dull light doesn't reflect it.

Tilda was masked onto the presents (still not convinced she is sitting right, even after 3 attempts!) and watercoloured her. I cut her out and put her straight on to the dp. I glimmer misted the snowflakes using gold and then glamour dusted them, so they do sparkle!! I stamped the sentiment straight onto the dp.

I water coloured this fab mousey and aded fluffy stuff and glitter. I kept the sketch simple and stamped the sentiment on to a cuttlebug bauble.

We have had a busy weekend - at an evening do for a wedding last night, and a princess party for one of the children I mind today. The girls are well tired and partied out!!! Hopefully they will sleep!!!!

Tilda box

I've still got this stinking cold and haven't really felt like crafting, but I did make it inot my craft room last night and made this box for one of Ellie's Christmas presents.
It covers these challenges:

I watercoloured Tilda and coloured the bell and ribbon using silver and starlight inks before cutting her out. The dp are distressed and inked and I angled the dp for a jaunty look (sneezes are useful at time !!!) To make the snowflake feature I cut a circles and punched an elm branch out and inked it up. I added silver brads to the corners, a punched sentiment and gems to the branches. I added a silver ribbon round the side of the box.

Christmas cards

The girls went to a party down the road yesterday, and we didn't have to stay (yippee) so I got some crafting done, and another couple of Christmas cards :). I decided to spend the time playing, so my craft room sparkles with embossing powder and glimmer mist!!

Both cards fit the One Stop Craft Celebration challenge and Winter Wonderland's open theme.

I made this card using the sketch from friday sketcher and Colour Create's white theme.
I heat embossed 4 layers of silver embossing powder and then stamped the inked up image into the hot powder. I embossed the layers using Swiss dots and snowflakes CB folders and distressed the edges. I added some white ribbon and a bow (twice as I managed to bleed on the first lot arrrgghh!!). When the ink was dry I added the image and tag sentiment. Finally some pearls to finish it off.
I am really pleased with the effect ... I feel a few more of these in the making!!

The second card using the sketch from Just Magnolia and the Magnolia down under theme, distressing.
I created the background paper using distress inks, glimmer mists and Tattered Angels winter crystals masks. It doesn't show in the photo but the background really does shimmer. The cardstock is run through the snowflakes embossing folder and sanded and distressed. I watercoloured Tilda and distressed her and the mat. I added ribbons, punched snowflakes and the sentiment tag.

My fingers are still slightly blue LOL!!

The girls are at my parents until tomorrow so we are off out for Sunday lunch - haven't done that since November 2004 LBE!!! (LBE = life before Ellie LOL!! ) And then I am going to do some more crafting - got a couple of winter wedding cards to make.

Trick or Treat

I don't really do Halloween cards, but I have made Ellie a bag for our Halloween trick or treat treasure hunt (Beth's is in the pipeline!!)

I made the backing paper using my Tim Holtz mask and weathered wood and black soot distress inks. Its been a while since I did any masking and I really like this fence. I would have liked Wilma standing behind it, but my printer doesn't like the card I use for my bases and the paper I use for digi images is not very distres ink friendly - so Wilma is floating slightly LOL!! I stamped the swirls at the top using versafine and ran the cardstock through the cobwebs CB folder. I distressed them in weathered wood and black soot. I added the ribbon, fab hat charm (from Bunny-Zoe's shop) and flowers. Finally I added a bit of stickles to the stars on the hat.

I'll be back later with some pics of the girls - we had a day out yesterday and hopefully another card- off to craft!

Henry's heart

One of our nieghbours asked me a few days ago to make a card for his girlfriend (soon to be fiancee hpoefully!!) to celebrate a year together. He is taking her away for a romantic wekend to celebrate and hopefully she'll say yes to his proposal - ahhhhhhhh!

Anyway I have no children this morning so I have finally made the card (cutting it a bit fine as he wants it tonight LOL!!). I used the colours from Colour Create (she adores pink!!) and as it is a 1st anniverary card of sorts I am also entering it in to the Cute Card Thursday challenge.
I watercoloured Henry and used my nesties to cut him out. I inked the edges of the image and dp with brown ink. Lots of heart paper and its PINK!!!! No flowers as while she a pink girl, she doesn't do flowers or fuss! I stamped the sentiment in sepia to keep with the brown and pink theme.

Hopefully she will like it.

Neon green and black!

The Colour Create challenge this time is neon green and black. I had to think hard about what stamp would look good coloured in these colours ... and Willow with her hot chocolate sprange to mind. I have used the sketch from Allsorts, and they also ask you to use just two colours.
I coloured Willow in using promarkers and copics. I embossed the green cardstock and sanded it off. The panel of black cardstock is also embossed. I added some green ribbon and punched the flowers and added black gems to the centre.

Katharina is doing a GDT call so I thought I would enter this for it ...

Ribbon and bows

I've managed a quick card this morning before we go away, as we were waiting for the cat to come in so we could take her to the cattery!! I have used the sketch from Friday Sketchers, the Colour Create theme, ruby, gold and cream, and the ribbon and bows challenge over at Just Magnolia.
I paper pieced Tilda's dress and bow and watercoloured the rest of her. The dp are all matted with gold. The broad ribbon has been in my stash for ages and I really have struggled thingking of how to use it ... I think it matches the other red!

A few cards from my Craft retreat wekend

I am part of a select group of girls that shared a Penny Black fondness and have a couple of retreats together each year. We love Penny Blacks but can step out of the box ... so this retreat I didn't make a single PB card ....eeek!!!! I had a fabulous time and the girls are a great laugh .. and I learned so much again"

I did have time to make these for a few challenges:
The first id for the Sugar Bowl , another fab sketch by Judy and handmade flowers.
I coloured and distressed the image and then punched flowers using my EK success punches. I matted the dp onto beige cardstock and used punched flowers for the corner detail.
My second card uses the Charisma Cardz sketch.
I watercoloured Henry and added stickles to the cake.

No dp, just cardstock, lots of distressing, homemade flowers - I think I like it lol!!

Well I am recovering tonight before working again tomorrow. Hoefully I will have time to catch up with all the weekend challenges.

A few challenges

I got into my craft room last night and made a card for a few challenges:

I stamped up my image and masked the large strawberry behind her so you can see the flowers. I coloured them in using copics and promarkers and matted her onto cardstock. I have kept it simple and only used 1 dp. I added the raffia lace and orange ribbon, the imaginesce flower brad and coloured the Maya Road flower in using copics and added a big green brad.
I have to admit to being slightly concerned about the colour mix ... but I think it works.

Christmas in July

Another combined challegne card, and the first Christmas card in ages!! I have used Colour Create's White and Blue theme with Papertake's sketch and Cute Card Thursday's Christmas theme.
It was a quick card - I find that the orders I get for Christmas cards are for simple cards with few embellies ... so here it is.
Snowy is coloured using promarkers and stickles. I cut him out and matted him onto the snowflake dp, which was matted onto white cardstock. I added white ribbon and some punched snowflakes which I added stickles to. And voila!!
Off to pick the girls up from pre-school - hopefully it will stay dry this afternoon so they can get out in the garden - less tidying up inside!!

A 4 challenge card!!

Gosh, another really hot day - my washing was only out for 20 minutes this morning!!!
I have managed to get some crafting done - it has been a bit of a challenge as the pens bled and the fan sent the papers flying everywhere. However I have managed to make a card for 4 challenges:
Colour Create - grassy green, apple green, lemon, sunflower yellow and white
Sugar Bowl - sketch and sparkle
Cute Card Thursday - stitching
Charisma Cardz - buttons

I coloured my image using promarkers and then masked her and spritzed the image with gold glimmer mist (thanks for the idea Kim!!). My glimmer mist was a bit blobby today - obviously not enjoying the heat!! I matted all the papers and fauxed stitched them using white gel pen. I punched three flowers and spritzed them with gold glimmer mist, then threaded gold thread through the buttons and added them to the centres. I finished the card off with a punched swirl and some flat backed green pearls.

Just need to find somewhere cool for the afternoon!!

Willow and Baby

I have combined this week's Colour Create (pistachio green, aqua and Powder pink) with another go at the WoJ sketch, and Charisma Cardz which is anything goes. The card is for friends who have recently had a baby.

I watercoloured thei mage and distressed the background using Tattered Rose and Shabby paint distress ink. I used lace and ribbon for elements of the sketch and punched some flowers. I loeft the tag bits off as their wasn't much room! Finally I stamped a sentiment
