Sarah Kay Bows

I don't normally get to do the Magnolia Vs Stampavie challenge as Sundays are the family day and then I often forget to do it later in the week. But hubby has been away and Ellie wanted to craft so while she was busy I had a go at this week's challenge which is bows.
This was my 1st go ...

I coloured Spring Blossoms in distress inks and cut her out. I adapted an Ismaki sketch for the card and used Making Memories papers. The lace, ribbon and flowers are all from my stash. I am not sure I like it - its a bit washed out for me ... but thats because I am trying to use up my papers ... and some that are left are the ones I am not as keen on!!
So I had another go ...

I used the same image coloured in distress inks and matted onto Basic Grey Sugared papers. I love the effect that Kim gets by distressing her backgrounds and after a little help from her I am having a go at it myself. The background is distressed in tattered rose and tea dye. The scroll corners are stamped in Versafine sepia and the tag and scroll are sizzix dies.

While I was busy Ellie was making her own cards ... helped by Miffy!

Not sure who is concentrating the most!!

Miffy giving a helping (?) paw!!
And finally (if you are still with me!) a card I made last night, as I had the evening to myself.

Not sure whose the papers are - bought them as single sheets, but the flowers are Prima and the scroll cut from my sizzix die. I followed this week's Friday Sketchers layout as it is such a fab sketch. Tilda is coloured in distress inks and the background distressed in milled lavender.

Wow - you've got to the end!!

In a nutshell!

Hubby is off for the weekend playing with little metal men with some friends, so I am at home alone with the girls, so less crafting time for me! I usually get Saturday morning or afternoon to myself! Anyway I have managed to get a little time while the girls coloured Andy Pandy pictures in to make a card. I have combined this week's sketch from Sketch Saturday with the PBSC challenge, spots or dots.

I don't often make baby cards, but felt like using this gorgeous image. I used my watercolour pencils to colour the image and then cut it out. I cut the circle from DCWV Nursery stack and added the image. The other papers are from my scraps tray, and I embossed the green cardstock using one of my CB folders.I have just realised as I am typing this that I have put the scalloped edge at the top, not the bottom (DOH!) I made the scalloped edge (which you can't see!) by cutting round the embossed circles.

OK I feel stupid now ... but I still like it!

Romantic ATCs

Becky has set up a monthly ATC swap blog and this month's theme is love and romance. I have made 5 ATCs for the swap, the 1st of which uses peel-offs so it fits in with this week's Tilda and Friends challenge. As there are lots of hearts it also fits in with this week's Secret Crafter theme.

All the ATCs are coloured using distress inks and the images are either Tilda or Penny Black. The papers are all from my stash, as are the ribbons, lace and peel offs. The sentiments are from Making Memories Defined sets, the gems are Papermania, and I made the background for the Tilda with the tray of biscuits using a stamp from Sugar Nellie.

Wallet card

I started making this wallet card 3 weeks ago as my DT contribution for this week's ABC challenge, however it has just not come together as I wanted, so I made another wallet card for the challenge.
However this week's Sugar Bowl challenge has really inspired and I finally finished it today. The challenge is Threes - 3 design papers, 3 types of embellishments etc.

This is the front of the wallet card - I adore this stamp so much. I have coloured the image in distress inks and distressed the edges in Papermania ink. I used pink and green flecked with gold cardstock, and K and CO papers. I faux stitched the papers and cardstock in gold gel pen and inked the edges. I added corners that I cut myself, and made the paper beads, following Marlene's tutorial on Sugar Sugar. The sentiment is PB stamped in Versafine Sepia. The ribbon and gems are from my stash.

This is the inside of the card - all the details are as above.
And finally ... this shows the envelope I made to hold gift vouchers or money.

I am really pleased with it and as it is going to be my Gran's 92nd birthday card, I just hope she will be!

Friday Sketcher

Its another fab sketch over at Friday Sketchers this week, designed by Mumur.
I used my latest one Tildas, Valentine Tilda, and coloured her in distress inks. I distressed the background and some of the papers in dusky plum ink. I used the same ink to stamp the scrolls. The papers are by Making Memories and the tag and swirls are Sizzix dies. The flowers are Prima and the organza ribbons from my stash. I used Versafine Sepia to stamp the PB sentiment and flowers on the tag, which again has been distressed in dusky plum.

I am just loving my distress inks!! They are a dream to colour with, and I think I am getting better!!

Have a great weekend everyone.

LOTV sketch

This week's LOTV challenge is a fab sketch by Donalda. I have altered it slightly, as I have used an oval rather than a circle for the image.

I coloured my latest Sarah Kay in in Pro markers and used a white gel pen to add some highlights. The Papers are by making Memories and I have inked all the edges in a dusky pink pad. I added pink swirls to the corners, a prima flower and pink organza. The sentiment is by Penny Black.
I am really pleased by the overall effect for a change - I normally start picking my cards to pieces the minute they are finished!

This is a 'just because' card that I made the other night.

I coloured Tilda in using Distress inks and faux stitched her and the K and Co papers. The heart and patch on her dress are decoupaged. I added prima flowers and ribbon from my stash.

I am still on the use up my stash drive. I have decided stamps aren't included in this resolution as you can't use them up ... so I have bought a few from the Glitterpot sale ... just don't tell the Hubby!

Awards

I have been collecting awards recently but have been terrible at posting them. Thank you to Pauline, Helen and Loouise for giving them to me.

I have had a look around and most people seem to have these, so if you have visited and don't please take an award away with you.

Dutch Dare Challenge #31

This week's Dutch Dare Card Challenge is to use blue/green and brown on your card. To me this screamed male card ... so out came Hamish and his tractor. This is such a fab stamp by Sugar Nellie and a fab one to use for this challenge.
I coloured him in a mix of aqua promarkers and promarkers and distressed him using papermania brown ink. All the papers are Basic Grey's Archaic. I cut the curvy bands out, following the lines of the paper and matted and distressed it. The sentiment is a Basic Grey Archiac rub-on. The buttons are from American Elements and the ribbon threaded through them is from my stash.

Purple and Green Whiff of Joy

This week's Whiff of Joy Challenge is to use Purple and Green. When I saw it I was inspired to use Willow and Lantern, however it has taken ages to get everything together.

It has turned out to be a really simple card, that I will dress up when I descide who to send it to a Christmas.

I used a mix of papers and cardstock from my stash and coloured Willow using distress inks. I distressed the image using Papermania earth tones. I added two lilac and two green gems to the corners. The papers are quite decorative so I will only add a little embellishment. I would have loved to have added a ribbon, but I have got none to match!! Shopping trip in order!!

ABC Challenge ... W is for

This week's ABC challenge is
W is for ...
Wallet card
Rather than make the usual wallet cards we make when sending images, I decided to adapt the Trifold card to make a gift wallet for a gift card or money.

I used dark turquoise cardstock and made the outer part of the trifold card. I covered the folded parts in Basic Grey Urban Prairie papers and used a wide piece of green organza as the closing sleeve.

Inside I made the wallet using turquoise cardstock and Basic Grey paper. I made a sleeve to pop the wallet into, so it can come out and be displayed on its own.

I coloured this gorgeous PB bear in distress inks and matted it onto the wallet.
I finally made an ATC card holder to act as the gift card/money holder. This pos inside the larger wallet.

Do check out the other DT wallets, and have a go yourself.
Thanks for looking.
