Some simple cards

We have been having real problems with our phone and internet line over the weekend, but a lovely enginner seemed to have fixed it for us - so thank you everyone who has visited my blog, and I ma sorry if I haven't visited yours ... technical difficulties.
I have to be honest and admit to little crafting over the last few days, as Ellie has been unwell again and ... I bought a Bind-it-all and have been playing!!! Oh and I had a few Christmas cards to make for my mum.

Anway I have managed to catch up with some challenges over the last couple of days, although I warn you I have gone for the less is more approach to these!!
All three cards qualkify for this week's Basic Grey as they all include BG papers and glitter!!This has been made for one of Ellie's pre-school friend's birthday. I love the image and coloured her in the colours the little girl often wears. I have used this week's sketch from the Secret Crafter as the layout - a bit bigger than I had thought but it is all there, except the sentiment - Ellie will write inside so no sentiment. It also qualifies for this week's CCT as the image is of an angel!! Ellie helped glitter glue the wings - trust me they are well and trully GLITTERED!!
For this fab sketch from Friday Sketchers this week I used one of my fab Sugar Nellie Father Christmas's. I have rotated the sketch to make the image fit, and used both Basic Grey and Dovecraft papers. All the edges are inked using Papermania ink and the image and matted layer were cut out with my nesties. The flower is a Prima and the ribbon from a box of chocs!! The sentiment is a Papermania vellum one from last year.
And finally, this week's sketch Saturday. Its a fab sketch and one I am sure to use again. I stunned myself - not ribbon or flowers, just a bit of wire to embellish, but I am pleased with the effect. All the papers are Basic Grey, theimage is a Siugar Nellie and the little snowflake a vellum sticker by Papermania.
Off to blog hop and catch up now.

Dutch Dare Challenge #22

The Dutch Dare challenge this week is anything but a card. I thought I'd try and be organised an start getting ready for Christmas. We don't have crackers, we do table presents instead on Christmas day, so I am making little bags this year.
I used spotted green cardstock (Papermania I think) and made this little bag (I will add the tutorial link when I find it). Iwatercoloured this gorgeous SN Father Christmas. He is matted onto cardstock and K & Co paper and placed him at a jaunty angle. I added little gold peel offs and loosely coiled green and red wire. The bag fastens with a red and gold ribbon, and the name tag is cut using my CB and Olivia font.
Quite simple to make ... only another 13 to go!!!

WOJ sketch

I've made quite a lot of cards for other people recently, so for the WOJ sketch I have made a card for me, one I probably will never put in the to use/sell box. The sketch is fab and one I will definitely use again, and for this card I decided to keep the embellishments to a minimum ... so no flowers or wire!I do like this Willow and have used Autumnal colours as Spring seems quite a long way away at the moment. No sentiment, a bow instead, as I don't put sentiments on cards unless asked to.

Stamps : WOJ Willow with umbrella, Hero Arts Scrolls
Papers: Basic Grey Mellow
Embellishments: ribbon from stash, the bow one came from a box of chocs!, brads by Papermania

Spoonfull of sugar sketch

I have been asked to make a card by one of the parents at pre-school - they wanted to choose the image and papers etc ... never again will I do this!!
To be honest I am quite surprised as to how well the card has turned out as I would never have mixed theses colours and ribbons together. Took me a while to find my sunglasses so I could get on with it LOL!
As the papers and ribbons were in danger of zapping my creativity I chose to use this week's Spoonfull sketch so here it is ...

I have rotated the sketch so the image fits - I adore this Sugar Nellie, he is so friendly and fab to colour.

Stamps: Sugar Nellie Arthur, sentiment Penny Black

Papers : DCWV Pocketful of Posies

embellishments: from stash

Hope I haven't damaged you eyes too much !!!

As the theme is celebration, a four year old's birthday, I am entering this for Pauline's blog candy.

ABC challenge P is for ...

This week's ABC challenge is to make a card that includes pink.
Now this was a challegne for me as I don't do PINK. I have two lovely daughters who do do pink big time, so pink is a colour I try to avoid and not a colour I craft with too easily!!!

Anyway I think I rose to the challenge with this tri-fold card.

I have ysed Making Memories papers and pink card stock to make the card. The band is decorated with Prima flowers and pink ribbon from my stash.

The image is a grogeous PB hedgie which I have watercoloured and matted onto more Making Memories papers. I added teeny prima flowers and a ribbon to the tag, and the scroll stamps are from TAC. The sentiment (yes I stamped a sentimet!!) is from Hero arts I think - peeled the laberl off as it was bugging me a while ago.

Christmas Sparkle

This week's Papertake Weekly Challenge is to add sparkle, and the Lili of the Valley challenge is to make a christmas card. I have made a couple of Christmas cards that fit the bill.
I adore these PB mice and have done something I haven't done for ages ... decoupaged them! I stamped the image 3 times and then layered the mice, and then some of the berries and the mice's arms up. I added blue fringe to the mouse's scarf. The dp are Daisy D and the braid is from my stash. I added glitter glue to the berries and leaves, and gems to the corners of the card to add some sparkle.
I am also going to enter this into this week's PBSC challenge as its better than my previous effort!LOL!

This is Ellie's Christmas card. Another Rachelle Anne Millar Christmas sta,p. The dp are Dovecraft, Papermania embossed card and cardstock put through my cuttlebug. I used sparkly blue organza ribbon and glittered up a couple of prima flowers and bits of the image.

A few cards

I finally got round to some crafting yesterday and managed to make 3 cards for 4 challenges!

The first one follows the Saturday Sketch and uses Wassail papers by Basic Grey. I love these little Penny Black mice, they look so cute. I added braid, gems and flowers from my stash, and did some faux stitching in gold pen.

This card follows the Friday Sketchers sketch for this week. Again I have used Basic Grey's Wassail papers. The papers edges are inked in gold ink and I have faux stitched in gold. I added a couple of Prima flowers, gold scroll cut with my sizzix die, gorgeous velevet ribbons and some tiny gems. I have decided to use this as a birthday card for a relative who has a December birthday.

The last card I made was for the new Magnolia meets Stampavie challenge. The first challenge is a sketch, which I have rotated. I love this teddy bear. I watercoloured the image and added tiny red gems for the berries. The edges are inked in blue ink, and I decided on to matt the image, just leave it inked, as I didn't want a really fussy, busy card. The papers are Daisy D's Snowflakes and Holly, flowers are Prima and the braid is from my stash.

This is going to be Beth's Christmas card, and the lone flower has been added by Ellie, as in her words "it looks right". Who am I to argue with a 3 year old!!

Sparkles

I am feeling a bit jaded at the moment and struggling to get cards made, pushing papers and stroking ribbons, but not coming up with much. Ellie's tonsils are up again (7th time this year and 4th time in 6 weeks!) and Beth is cutting her back molars, so not alot of sleep and it is showing grr!
I have made this card using the Secret Crafter sketch and the PBSC theme, Get Sparkly. It is not a bonfire theme, but it is for my bestest friend's birthday which is on Bonfire Night. There is sparkle on it though and uses the pink, brown and white colour theme from Secret Crafter.

I watercoloured the image, Light the Night in pink water pencils and added small pink flower and heart gems. The patterned paper is from DCWV Glitter matstack and my stash. I put the pink cardstock through mt CB using the D'vine Swirls folder. I added copper wire, pink gems and lovely brown glittered ribbon to finish. It does sparkle lots in the light.

Hopefully Christine will like it ... although she is more of a purple girl LOL!

Dutch Dare Design Team!

I have been a bad blogger this week, as apart from posting some cards I haven't visited many people - sorry, but Ellie is on half term so we have been out and about.
I have also been making cards like mad for a sale this afternoon and for my Design Team cards for the ABC Challenge, and the Dutch Dare Challenge.
Yes, I am one of the new members of the Dutch Dare Challenge Design team, and am really looking forward to the challenge and working with the team.
I have been given these 2 awards by Michele ... and am struggling thinking of who to give them to as there are so many fabulous blogs out there and so many of you already have them, so if you haven't got either of these awards yet, please take it and pass it one.

Cute Card Thursday - Drinks

This week's Cute Card Thurdsay challenge is to include drinks. I couldn't resist inking up my latest Sugar Nellie, Strawberry Tea, for this one!
Isn't she so cute?! I have watercoloured her using my Promarkers and matted her on to K and Co papers. All the papers are inked in gold. The flowers are Prima and the scroll stamp from TAC. The gorgeous organza ribbon is from my stash.
