Secret Crafter wk 83

It's Debby turn to set this week's Secret Crafter Saturday Challenge, and she has chosen something metal.

I coloured this gorgeous Sarah Kay in using distress inkss and distressed the edges. I stamped around the edges of some of the dp and added a layered flower with a spacer and pearl. The cute little watering can was acquired at the NEC.

Sarah kay in Red

I am having a little break from crafting, and apart from making my DT cards am not really crafting, lost my mojo and inclination :( However Vicky set me the challenge of making a card using a Sarah kay and the colour red - eek!!!

It also fits these challenges:
Passion for Promarkers - Strawberries and cream
A Spoonfull of Sugar - 3 dp and 3 buttons
Simon Says Stamp - sketch
Papertake Weekly - shiny, sparkly and special
Cute card Thursday - Someone special

I am not great with reds, find them really hard to shade, but as Vicky had set the challenge I had a go and am quite pleased with how it has turned out. The papers are embossed and sparkly and I added gems for a bit more bling. This card is special as it is going to a special little girl who is recovering from her 5th operation in less than 2 weeks.

Off to play with the children, nd I'll be back tomorrow with my Secret Crafter DT card.

U for Unused stash

Its time for another ABC Challenge and we are upto U in the alphabet, and for this challenge we want you to use your neglected stash.
We are being sponsored by Whimsy Stamps.

Denise is offering a $15.00 gift certificate.
And here is my creation.
I used this cutie from Whimsey Stamps recent digi release. These papers are very neglected and I don't know why as they are gorgeous (if pink!). The sentiment is from FF Pink Parfait.

Sketch and Stash #35

Its Sketch and Stash time again, and this time were are sponsored by Simon Says Stamp and they are offering $20 to spend for 1 lucky person.
I watercoloured my fab new image and inked the edges. I threaded ribbon through the raffia lace and added a ribbon ... no flowers as I wanted to see the lovely dp at the back. The sentiment is from the FF Pink Parfait range.

The DT have come up with some gorgeous creations again this week so if you have time do go and look.

Lilac and green

Vicky challenged me to make a card using Tilda coloured in Lilac. Not a difficult challenge for me ... the biggest challenge I had was getting the masking right so Tilda sat properly on the dandelion!!
I used my distress inks to colour the image and went over the fairy dust and danedlion clock with a skura stardust pen. The papers are lush, I had to take some deep breathes before i cut into the ... MME Penny Lane glitter stack. I added a ribbon and a charm, and some baby's breathe.
The card fits these challenges -
Just Magnolia - it takes two
Raise the bar - for Mum ... well it is for a very special mum, not mine. One of my friend's has a little girl who is very poorly, so this is for her as a thinking of you card while she nursses her little one in hospital. Her little one is blind so I have used lots of textures on the card nad bits that she can tap and stroke so she can 'see' her mummy's card too.

This week's Sweet Pea Stampers challenge is a sketch.
I used the same colour scheme as my Tilda - had the inks out so thought I might as well!! The dp is DCWV Pocketfull of Posies and the image is Midnight waiting. I added stickles and used ricrac and ribbon.

We have had a lovely time at our friend Nancy's new house ... the girls have played scary monsters with everyone and i didn't have to cook tea or tidy away :)

Yo ho ho instead of ding dong!

A couple of friends are getting married in a couple of weeks and I thought i had better get on with their wedding card. The theme of the wedding is period cosutme or fancy dress ... basically anything but modern/normal clothes!! So with that in mind, and the fact that I don't really have any wedding images I went for an alternative style of wedding card. Its the first card I have made in several days and I am overally happy with the colouring - I am rubbish at red and black!!!
So we have a pirate theme - its Lis and E dressed up as pirates!! The images are watercoloured and then cut out so I could sit them in the oval. The scallop borders and arrow sentiment from the dp pack, and the flowers are Wild Orchid Craft. I did some rough faux stitching round the edges of the dp, but resisted the temptation to distress the papers.

The card fits these challenges:
Stampavie and more - sketch
Totally Papercrafts - stitching
Charisma Cardz - Wedding
Just Magnolia - It take two (well 3 in this case!!)
Simon Says Stamp - birthday/celebration

I have a couple of other cards on the go ... Vicky has set me a tilda in Lilac challenge which is nearly finished and I have my Sweet Pea stamp to get finished too.

Secret Crafter Saturday Challenge week 82

This week's Secret Crafter challenge has been set by Christine, who has sadly left us. Her challenge is a recipe - 3 embellishments, 2 papers and 1 image.
I used one of Wendy's fab manga stamps, Sitting Mollie and coloured her using my promarkers. I decided to use these BG papers ... not very girly, but Mollie in dungarees isn't too girly!! I punched flowers and added gems and ribbon.
The DT have come up with some fab creations.

It's taking a long time ...

to make, finish and post these 2 cards!! I started them last Friday ... but managed to get a few challenges in with them LOL!!

The first card fits these challenges:
Just magnolia- sketch
Basic Grey - photo inspiration
Totally Gorguss - In Stitches
Tilda is watercoloured and then the background is distressed. I used the fairydust sparkle stamp to stamp around the edge of the image, and then added stickles. The dp are faux stitched in white and black gel pen. I added some organza and gingham ribbon, a bow and charm, and some gems.

The next card fits these challenges:
Penny Black Saturday Challenge - get punchy
Allsorts - animals
Papertake Weekly - sketch
Stamp with Fun - friend
A Spoonfull of Sugar - Furry Friends
Passion for Promarkers - gratitude
I love this PB stamp and that butterfly must be a good friend to be pulling the mouse!! The image is coloured using my pens and then distressed in blue and green ink. I punched the pink detail using my EK success border and swirl punches. I added a layered flower, some pearls and a PB sentiment.

I am finding that I have very little time these days to craft and blog, so I am taking a few months break from a couple of Design Teams. I need to find some time to enjoy crafting, rather than feeling the need to craft.

Just Cute Bears Challenge 15

Wow I can't believe we are upto week 15 already!
This week's challenge is Buttons and Bows, and we are again sponsored by Cuddly Buddly. We also have a new fab Guest Designer, Bev.

I watercoloured this cute Penny Black bear and distressed the edges. The papers are Basic Grey Wisteria, and the clear buttons and ribbon is from my stash. I blame my lovely friend Samantha for my slight (only slight mind) obsession with clear button!

We are at my parents for the weekend, so might be needing a boat if it rains alot!!

Secret Crafter Saturday Challenge week 81

It is my turn to set the Secret Crafter Saturday Challenge and I have chosen
Friendship.
I have made this card for my best friend ... my lovely hubby.
I made this card at a crafting session at Wendy's (Secret Crafter). I watercoloured the iamge and used nesties labels to cut it out. The image is distressed using tumbled glass. I love this dp and matted it onto navy and grey cardstock. I love this colour of ribbon and just had to use it. Whilst the colours might not be the first that spring to mind for a romantic card ... but the image reminds me of depression Mid west and these colours are fitting for that.

Recipe:
Stamp(s): Sarah Kay A Kiss for Chloe (Secret Crafter)
Colouring Media: Distress inks (Secret Crafter)
Papers: Basic Grey granola (Secret Crafter)
Embellishments: nestibilities and ribbon (Secret Crafter)
