ABC Challenge ... W is for

This week's ABC challenge is
W is for ...
Wallet card
Rather than make the usual wallet cards we make when sending images, I decided to adapt the Trifold card to make a gift wallet for a gift card or money.

I used dark turquoise cardstock and made the outer part of the trifold card. I covered the folded parts in Basic Grey Urban Prairie papers and used a wide piece of green organza as the closing sleeve.

Inside I made the wallet using turquoise cardstock and Basic Grey paper. I made a sleeve to pop the wallet into, so it can come out and be displayed on its own.

I coloured this gorgeous PB bear in distress inks and matted it onto the wallet.
I finally made an ATC card holder to act as the gift card/money holder. This pos inside the larger wallet.

Do check out the other DT wallets, and have a go yourself.
Thanks for looking.

I don't often do 'newsy post', but I have decided to today as I have a mad cat and talented daughter.

First the mad cat ...

yep she is curled up in the girls' dolls buggy fast asleep. She even allows them to push her round in it - how mad is that!!! Particularly since Beth is a speed fanatic! Miffy was neutered yesterday - advice fronm the vet ... keep her quiet. Well how do you keep a deliwquent cat with ADHD tendencies quiet? Any suggestions will be warmly recieved. The stitches are still intact - just!

Now on to my fabulous, gorgeous older daughter ...

She is really proud of this snow scene she made at pre-school, and spent 20 minutes telling me how she did it. The Snownman is made from her milk carton. We took a picture of her with it as I was worried that the above mentioned cat would trash this lovely snow scene before anyone saw it. Miffy has yet to find it! Notice I say yet!

Oh and I have a card as well ... this is a just for the fun of it card, no challenge, commission, special occasion. A great thing about using up my stash is that I am re-finding papers I was in love with a few months back ... and this K and Co pad is gorgeous! Haven't inked up the stamp for a while either.

I used my nesties, and got a bit carried away to create the frames and matting. Did lots of faux stitching and added more flowers than I usually would. I took the photo and then thought something was missing - hubby found the gem centres for the flowers ... children or cat ... the cat gets my vote! So you will have to imagine sparkly centres to the flowers. The ribbon is from my stash.

Christmas mice

This week's challenge at My Time to Craft is to have mice on your creation. I made a resolution at New Year to make at least 1 Christmas card a week - so here is this week's!!

I love these little sleeping mice by Penny Black and made loads of cards with them last year. I used a mish mash of papers from my stash, and cut the corners myself. I added organza ribbon (that the cat then played with - spot the tiny holes!!) red gems and a peel off. Quick and simple.

Friendship Tilda

I have combined this week's sketch from the Papertake Weekly Challenge and A Spoonfull of Sugar's challenge, to use paper piecing. I am still trying to thin my stash (so I can get more LOL!) and have found this pack of Papermania papers. I haven't used a single one ... not sure why I bought them as they are pink based!
I used Dala Tilda and paper pieced her dungarees. The rest I coloured in distress inks, including the Magnolia steps. I cut both Tilda and the steps out and matted them onto , more papers from the pack. I cut the corners out and found 3 Prima flowers that matched. I added the mesh ribbon and sentiment from a Making Memories Defined set.

Secret Crafter Challenge

This week's Secret Crafter challenge is to make anything but a card. I have been making a book for a very special friend who is going through a bit of low patch. I finally finished it today.

The book is 6"x6" and covered in papers from my stash (think they might by Stampin' Up). I love the flower and butterfly detail on them. I coloured these two Sugar Nellie Sweet Art Ebony's using distress inks and cut them out. I made paper beads using Marlene's tutorial on the Sugar Bowl. The text at the bottom is from a Making Memories Defined set. The flowers are Prima and the ribbons from my stash. I made a bookmark using matching ribbon and a paper bead.

I don't often show pics of my gorgeous Gremlins ... however this is Ellie drawing a hot air balloon with a flower on it. Not bad for a 4 year old I think (and certainly better than me LOL!)

Pink and Brown

This week's PBSC is a colour combination, pink (heart sinks again this week!) and brown. I used this week's Sketch Saturday for the layout.
I used this fab stamp and coloured it in distress inks and cut it out using my Nesties. I used some papers I haven't used for a while, Papermania's Warm Nostaglic, and added some scroll detail to the dark pink using vintage photo distress ink and a scroll stamp. All the edges are distressed and inked. The sentiment is from a PB transparents set, and the pink organza ribbon is from my stash. No flowers as I think the flower paper is enough.

Closer pic of my colouring - I think it is getting better!
Hope you are all having a good weekend.

Friday Sketcher

I can't believe it is already Friday, where has the week gone? While the girls were tidying their bedroom (and making a bigger mess LOL!) I had a go at this week's Friday Sketcher using an image I had already coloured.

This gorgeous Sarah Kay is coloured in distress inks and cut out using my new nesties. I inked the edges of all the papers and image, was tempted to stitch but resisted! I used K and Co papers, ribbon, eyelets, flowers and gems from my stash. The sentiment is by Penny Black. There has been a little resizing of some of the elements in the sketch to make things fit better.

Hope you all have a great weekend.

Charisma Cardz Challenge #1

There is a new challenge blog (and I can't resist challenges!) called Charisma Cardz Challenges. There 1st challenge is a pink card (feel my heart sinking!!). However I have made a friendship card for one of my closest friends and she does I fear like pink!

I used this lovely Sarah Kay image, Rosies garden and all the papers are Making Memories, as is the ink for distressing. I watercoloured the image and the flower using distress inks. The image is cut out using my nesties. The charm and pearl brad were part of a PIF I received, and the ribbon is from my stash.

I think I need to lie down now to recover from the pinkness of it all!!

Combined challenge card ... again!

I have combined 4 challenges for this card as time is a bit in short supply. I have used this week's WOJ sketch, my promarkers that I got at Christmas (CCT challenge), the theme is birthday (LOTV challenge) and Melinda is drinking soup (MTTC Food theme - tenuous I know but!!)
I coloured the image in with Promarkers and cut Melinda out. I have used papers from Basic Grey's Urban Prairie and added prima flowers, adhesive pink gems and a pink organza ribbon. The sentiments are Penny Black.
OK ... the cat ...
Yes she is cute and sweet, but has taken a liking to the raffia I got to decorate a box I am altering ...
and doesn't she looked pleased with herself.
That'll be raffia to get then!!

DutchDare Card Challenge #30

This week's DDCC is to use at least 3 triangles on your card. Well for me there was only one card to do ... a Trifold as it uses lots of triangles. I have been making a few of these recently so watch out for them popping up on my blog.

For the card I used lilac cardstock and papers by Papermania (still on the use up!) I distressed all the edges with purple Papermania ink.
The band to hold the card closed is made using lilac cardstock, Anitas ribbon and wire. I added lilac adhesive stones.

The card inside is made using the same cardstock and paper pack. I used Sugar Nellie's Hug in a Mug image and coloured her using my promarkers. I cut her out and matted her onto cardstock cut with my nesties. The sentiment is PB.

So it folds/opens like this.I can't wait to see your creations using triangles.
