A Tag and WOYWW

Well I have bitten the bullet and done my tim Holtz September tag ...
And mine ...
OK it looks nothing like his!!! I used the same techniques but was missing quite a bit of his stash so a little improvisation was needed!  I added the metal foil and the faux riveting, and then used eggplant, stonewashed blue and terra cotta alcohol inks to create the metallic effect.  While I waited for it to dry I die cut the butterfly and birdcage using the movers and shapers dies and grungeboard, and painted them using a silver dabber.  I splodged it on to create some texture.  When they were dry I went over with some of the alcohol ink mix to tarnish them.  I scrubbed over the tag using a scrubby thing from under the sink - no wire wool so its not really taken much of the ink off - but I like the effect.
The seam binding was also stained using alcohol inks - it has made it quite rough and crispy - a different texture which works well with all the metal.  The sentiment was stamped onto a peice of grungeboard that had had the silver dabber treatment and rough cut out.  I used tissue tape, and then added all the elements, finishing with some spacers attached using teeny brads and some liquid pearl drops for the butterfly trail.
And here's my desk ...
I haven't played along with WOYWW for ages - so lots of goodies on their that I got through the post ... flowers, dies and papers.  Ohh and my first Kraftin' Kimmie stamp.  Also some colouring and card assembling on the go!  Like to dabble with several things at once!!
