ABC challenge S is for ...

Summer

As it is getting warmer and hopefully we are going to have lots more sunshine, we thought we would like to see your summery cards.

I have to confess to a bit of a rush job on this card - I haven't made a card for over two weeks, and have spent the day making my DT cards for this week.

Anyway onto this card ... only one image really sprang to mind for summer (possibly brought on by the squeals and giggling of two sunsuit clads little girls in a paddling pool!) ...

I coloured this fab image in using my promarkers. I have kept the layout quite simple as I am going to use it as a child's birthday card. I went for bright summery colours but very little embellishment - nothing looked quite right.

Do have a go at the challenge and I look forward to visiting your blogs this week

The exam marking is over so I am back in Blogland and in my Craft room. I am hopefully going to get some time to craft and do some challenges this week ... oh and get some blog hopping in - I haven't visited a single blog for 2 weeks!!!

SCSC challenge 36

This week's challegne set by Wendy is ...
In the Jungle

I thought I was going to struggle with this until I found this cute giraffe stamp in my stash!

I have made a baby card for the challenge. I coloured the giraffe in using my promarkers, and added white gel pen freckles. I resisted the temptation to distress/emboss the Coredinations cardstock, and added the gorgeous DCWV Nursery stack papers ... which have jungle animals on them! I added an elephant stamp and the special delivery stamp that I found in my miscellaneous stamp box (I really must look in there more often!) Satin ribbon and a bow finish it off.

Do check out the other DT blogs, and I am hoping to find time to visit your blogs this wek, but I am up to my eyes with work at the moment.

Have a great weekend,

DDCC challenge #52

This week's challenge is to make a card for a good cause. The Dutch Dare Card Challenge is also a year old this week!! So the Design team are celebrating by making a card for Post Pals and offering some candy for some lucky people.

As I am going to be sending this to a sick child I have chosen bright colours and kept the layout simple. I coloured Sherbert in using my promarkers and the cut it out using my nesties. I inked the edges of the white dp and the flowers and swirl. I added pastel green pearls to the flowers and swirls.

Do please have a go this week - these children love receiving cards and I would love to see what you come up with.

ABC Challenge ... R is for

Roses

What a hard one to do LOL!!! I would have loved to have had the time to create my own flowers for this challenge ... but Parcel Force keep bringing me exam papers to mark ... so very little timne is left for crafting. In fact this week and next I will be lucky to make anything but my Design team cards.

Anyway as time is little I stuck to mulberry roses for the challenge!

I coloured the image in using distress inks and matted it onto pink dp. I chose to keep to a simple colour scheme of pink and blue. I added some lace and then blue mulberry roses layers onto while mulberry flowers. I kept the stems on a couple of the roses and twisted them round a bamboo kebab stick.

Do take a peek at the other DT blogs and I look forward to visiting you and seeing what you come up with.

Daydreaming

This week's Colour Create is a Rainbow of Colour, and the Creative Card Crew challenge is to make a card for a child. I like to ake a few cards each month for Post Pals so I have combined the challegne to make this card to send.

I colured Sherbert in using my promarkers and cut her and the matt out using my nesties.I have kept the layout simple, just matting the dp and only adding a bit of ribbon, as it looked too fussy with flowers.

Sketch and Stash Challenge 12

Our new sponsor for challenge 12 is The Character Cafe ... they are a Canadian Digi Stamp company. All the design team have created 2 cards this week, one using one of their Digi stamps, so don't forget to pop along and visit the other DT members. Their cards are stunning.
So here is this week's fantastic sketch by Becky.
I used Bracey and Stacey Swingin for my digi stamp, which I coloured in using my promarkers.
I cute the image and papers out using my Mega nesties, and added my new Papermania large brads and flowers. The ric rac and little white flower brads are from my stash.
For my second card I used my latest Sugar Nellie Home Grown stamp, again coloured in using promarkers.
I used ribbons rather than papers for the little tabs and coloured white mulberry flowers in using promarkers. The papers are from Making Memories and have sat unused for about a year!

Back from holiday ... and a couple of cards!

We're back from holiday, and it was fantastic. We hardly had any rain, ate lovely food ... and had no children!!!!!
Having done 4 loads of washing and ironing and put everything away I thought I was entaitled to craft for a bit, especially as it looks like I have more exam marking on its way :(.
So I have made a couple of cards for a few challenges. I have used my promarkers for both, and brilliance ink which I heat set. However I am still getting some smudging and bleeding out of the lines, hmmm.
The first card covers the following challenges:
  • Passion for Promarkers - pastel pink and apple
  • A Spoonfull of Sugar - sketch
  • Whiff of Joy - charms

I matted the image onto pink and green papers and added clear buttons with pink ribon through and pink and green buttons. I stamped the swirl using one from the swirl set by Whiff of Joy. I cut the circles out using my nesties and added lace for the scalloped edge. The charm is tied using ribbon as I have lost my embroidery thread ... I am closely questioning the fast fingered two year old who lives with us!!

The second card covers these challenges-

  • Just Magnolia - sketch
  • Charism Cardz - pink and brown
  • Cute Card Thursday - Nip and punc (die cuts and punches)

I coloured my image in using promarkers. The image is matted onto pink cardstock and I have matted some of the dp onto the pink cardstock. I used my hammer and ribbon slotter to make the hole for the robbon. The sentiment is stamped in sepia, and I punched flowers and a swirl and inked the edges in brown ink. The leaves are punched using my new EK Success punch.

SCSC challenge 35

This week's challenge is
BLING
I'm not a big fan of bling, so its minimalist bling LOL!!

I coloured in my Gorguss girl in using promarkers, and cut and matt her using nesties. I kept the papers simple, adding some flowers and ribbon, and then some pink and green adheshive gems.

Do check out the other DT's creations. I am still on holiday (don't you love scheduled posts) so I will catch up with your creations when I get back.
