The Sugar Bowl #67

Its Thursday and time for another dip in the Sugar Bowl.  We have a fab sketch and great prize for you this time ...
One lucky winner, chosen at random, will win 4 super sweet Sugar Nellie stamps of their choice. However, if we have more than 100 entries that prize will rise to 6 stamps!

Here is the sketch, designed by the fabulous Erika, with the optional extra of scraps .. .and its a great sketch for using up those scraps.

I used these cuties, Cute and Cuddly, from the Homegrown range, and coloured them with my promarkers.  The dp is scraps from DCWV Nana Nursery ... really need to get some more of this!  I inked the edge of the white cardstock and image using liquid chalk.  The sentiment is a WOJ one matted onto a Spellbinders label.  Finally I added some organza ribbon, a knot and some flat backed pearls.

Patchwork

Do you ever have what you think are brilliant ideas .. .and they don't turn out the way you expect them to ... well this is an example of this.  I did hestiate before blogging this, as I don't tend to blog projects that I am not overly happy with.

The image is Hello little friend, from Sugar Nellie's latest release. I coloured her in using promarkers and added some stickles and a swirly stamp to the corners.  The patchworker effect is made using 3 Nitwit digi papers and my octagonal nesties.  I gel penned the faux stitching round the shaped.  I added some ickle heart buttons with embroidery thread through the centres to give a quilty feel, and the flower is made using a nestie flower.   I cut out 3 sizes, stamped a swirly stamp in aged mahogany, and then cut petals into them and curled them.  Having layered it up and added a pearl to the centre I stickled theedges of the flower.  Finally a ribbon and knot bow.

WOYWW

Its Wednesday and time for another snoop round the crafty blogs in blogland led by the amazinginly talented Ms Dunnitt.
I have been having a bit of a re-organisation of my space thanks to a discussion with my very close friend Jo ... she is in to de-cluttering at the mo .. and that seems to include my craft space.
So I persauded hubby to clear some of his books of the bookcase (3 shleves worth!!) so I could move things around ... this has led to more space on the desk ... (yep there are 4 sets of spellbinders peeking out, and a fabby fairy from Sugar Nellie) ...
So it has all got moved onto the window sill ... it is now less cluttered than it was ... well it will be when i have sorted the canvas box out!!!

And ...
I now have a die cutting/embossing space (so i don't have to use his board and 'lose' his bits and pieces!!), and all my dies and embossing folders, border stamps etc are in one place.

One happy me :)  .. just need to get in there and use it all now lOL!!  Just got to get the ironing done first!!

Embellishment free Cards

Here are a selection of cards I have made this week (not just this weekend!!!) and they are all embellishment free ...
For this card, I distressed the background using DIs to create a cloudy, icy sky.  I stamped the Inkadinkado Father Christmas, and sligh, and the sentiment, using versafine.  There are some silver stamped stars there too, they don't show up very well.  I distressed the edges with silver versafine ink, and then matted it onto dark blue cardstock, and silver cardstock.

Challenge:
Less is More - Metallic

This is Grant you 1 wish from Sugar Nellie's Jingle Bells and Tinkle Bells release.  She is coloured in using my promarkers and flexmarkers, and I added glamour dust and stickles to her clothes and wings.  The dp is MME Penny Lane, and is all glittery and touchy feely.  I added some pink gingham ribbon and a bow.  The dp is patterned enough not to need flowers.

I coloured this Sugar Nellie Simply Sassy, Carnival Balloon, in ages ago, using my promarkers in.  I cut her out and matted her onto an embossed circle.  The dp is MME Stella Rose and I embossed the bottom half in using one of my new folders.  I used a Stampin' Up wheel to create the swirl strip.

 Challenges:
Fab n Funky - go mad with embossing
CRAFT - sketch

And finally Cherry Pip, from Sugar Nellie, coloured in again with my promarkers and the dress has been stickled. I added glossy accents to the shoes and bag ... a girl's got have shiny shoes!!!  The Dp is Stampin' Up Blueberry Crisp.

You should have hopped here from Maya's blog, but if you have arrived from somewhere else, or have got a little lost, pop back to the Sugar Nellie Blog for the full list.
Now this little cutie is called Little Apprentice, and is coloured in using prisma pencils.  I added glamour dust to her hat, coat and mittens trim,  and stickled her wings.  The dp is cranberry coloured gingham (... looks more pink to me!!) and I added some ribbon and lace, a crystal whatsy, some punched snowflakes and some flat backed pearls.  The sentiment is a Craftwork Cards one.

And after you have hopped along all our blog, you need to hop along to Funky Kits to buy them!!

Totally Papercrafts Challenge

Anything but a card.
Our two fantastic sponsors this week are ..

£10 voucher to spend in store (p+p not included).
and

Di\

The winner will receive 5 digital images of their choice, which will be tough as Di's has so many adorable images.

I thought I would get ahead with some of my Christmas pressies ...so I have altered a jam jar to hold some little gingerbread biscuits.
I coloured in this gorgeous Sugar Nellie image from the latest release, Knitted with Love, in using my promarkers and then glittered her wings and the knitted heart.  She is matted onto kraft and red cardstock.  I roughly tore some parcel paper and painted the edges with white acrylic paint, and cut a couple of holly leaves of of kraft and painted them.
I added some red gingham ribbon, a bow and some little heart buttons to the holly leaves.

Finally I decorated the top using a circle of kraft, again painted with acrylic paint, some lace, a snowflake and a luceted flower with a button at its middle.
Here is my flower .. .I am so proud, I made it all by myself, using my latest new skill, luceting.
And here it is in the making ... luceting makes braid, a bit like french knitting, and it is really easy once you get going (and have a friend who can fix it when it all goes horribly wrong!!)
