Ellie's birthday card for Beth

Ellie has worked really hard on making her little sister's birthday card. She doesn't often colour in really neatly, something due to her hasty nature!! However, she took her time with this, including using the waterbrush.

She picked the papers from my scrap tray and hunted through my peeloff and bits and bobs stash to find the greeting and numeral. She was really chuffed when I let her loose with my little flowers!

I am almost jealous of her abillity - not bad for someone who won't be 4 until December!

Tilda ATC

The Tilda and Friends ATC challenge this week is to make an ATC, no theme. I love this new Tilda in patched jeans. She looks so cute and innocent, and yet there is an air of trouble about her ... just like my two gorgeous girls!!

So I made this ATC, using the favourite colour in the house at the mo ...pink!! The papers are K and Co , the flowers primas and the ribbon is from ny stash. I doodled some stiching round the outside.

Beth is 2 tomorrow and I can't find the card I made her a while a go - well I can on my blog, but not the real thing!! So i have used the ATC I made earlier to make a card. I have used some more of the K and Co papers and some ribbon and fibres from my stash. I have added a peel off.

Hubby thinks its a bit loud!! But then so is Beth in more ways than one!!

ABC challenge G is for ...

This week's ABC challenge is G is for Gift. I decided not to make a gift but to use this gorgeous PB stamp called Much Gifted. I just love the duck sat on all those gifts! I have made this card for a bloke, so no flowers or lots of embellishments.
I used K and Co's Hopscotch papers and cut a check band instead of using a ribbon. I attached the image using brads and added a peel off sentiment and some gold swirls just to finish it off. Having gained the courage to wire after seeing it used on my SBS sister Becky's blog, I have had a go - not too bad for a first attempt, but I still need a bit of practise!

If you have time, why not have a go at the challenge.

Friday Sketcher

This is the last card I am posting today. I think I have finally caught up with myself and my blogging!! I haven't made all the cards today ... honest!
I have used the Friday Sketcher sketch to make this card for a friend's hubby, who loves fishing, and as the theme is water it is also suitable for the CCT challenge this week.
I have used a PB stamp, and K and Co Hopscotch papers, which I think work really well as landscape or seascape papers. As I am new to wire I have had another play - still trying to get all the curls the same size - LOL!
No sentiment yet - she can't make her mind up, as ever!

Stars and Stripes

The challenge over at Penny Black Saturday Challenge this week is to use stars and stripes. I couldn't resist using this gorgeous little hedgy kindly stamped for me by Vicky.
I decided to go fro a green and blue theme so I have used Making Memories papers. I love those stripes and checks. I added Papermania stars to it as die cut larger ones seemed a bit out of place and too much. I have kept it quite simple as it is a gorgeous image and the person it is for is quite reserved!

No card challenge

The spoonfull of sugar challenge this week is to make something that is not a card. I found the template for this lovely little bag here. It was really simple to make and is great for those little bits and pieces we girlies give a gifts!
I have used green cardstock from the Papermill shop and a Sarah Kay image watercoloured in greens and lilacs. The papers are purple cardstock and DCWV matt stack. I added some papermania brads and Prima flowers and some ribbon from my stash.
Now all I have to do is get some chocs and I'm away!!

PS I am really chuffed as I won last week's ribbon challenge so I'm going to be getting some stickles to play with!!

Sarah Kay and papertake weekly challenges

As the Papertake Weekly Challenge this week is a fab sketch by Katharina, I have combined it with The Sarah Kay challenge to use purple and green, a colour combo I love.
I have coloured and cut out the image and matted her onto DCWV cardstock. The papers are DCWV and Making Memories. I have added ribbons and flowers from my stash, and some wire.

Tilda embossing challenge

The Tilda and co challenge this week is to use embossing, of any kind on your card.
I love this Tilda and have matted her onto Kand Co papers and added a red bow. I used my D'vine swirls and border folders to embosed some red cardstock. I added the ribbon and green flowers to finish. I have kept it simple so the embossing can be seen.

Samantha's challenge

A friend has set a group of us a challenge to creat a card using some bits and pieces she posted to us. I think we all had an 'EEK' moment when the envelope arrived!
In the envelope there was the flower images, the butterfly image, the tag, the swiss dots embossing, the silver brad and a peach flower (now sadly crumpled and chewed by a teething nearly twoyear old!).
I used the papertake weekly challenge sketch this week as my layout. I coloured and cut out the images and matted them onto to some K and Co cardstock. The butterfly is mounted using foam pads to add a bit of depth. I used DCWV matt atack and English Comany papers for the backing papers and added a green prima flower to replace the peach one. Wire is my latest craft purchase so I have put some of that on.
A friend that does 17th century civil war re-eanctment is having his birthday iminently, so I have made him this card using these 2 gorgeous sugar nellies.
I am still finding black hard to work with as a bigger block of colour, but I really enjoyed colouring the pirate.
I have embossed the red cardstock using my swiss dots folder and used DCWV glitter stack for the black and silver. I have added a peel off, in an attempt to get rid of them!
