Donald

My SN order arrived yesterday, and having eazi mounted and inked them all up I couldn't resist colouring Donald in ...

Don't you just want to cuddle him, sat in his puddle in the rain?  I coloured him with my promarkers and then cut him out and matted him onto an ebossed circle.  The dp is DCWV Nana's Nursery, and I added some card candy.  I used the sketch from the Sugar Bowl, but ignored the theme ... well I could use it for my brother's birthday, which was Monday, and card is still not made, let alone sent!!!

I'll be back later with my Dutchdare Card challenge card, and a card for inStyle Satmap colour challenge.

WOYWW and InStyle Stamps Colour challenge

Its Wednesday, so time for What's On Your Workdesk Wednesday ...

My postie was busy today ... my recent win from Simon Says Stamp arrived, as did my Cuddly Buddly order (with a freebie :)) and  my Sugar Nellie order ... can't wait to plpay this evening.  Until I unpacked all my new stash my desk was tidy ... just the fab Snow White image from the new Fairy Tales release from InStyle Stamps , my pens and my i-pad.  I use it to listen to music and keep up to date on Face Book and blogger while crafting :).

Thank you to everyon who asked after Miffy last week ... she was found in a shed, so is home safe and sound ... well at this moment in time she is stalking the bird table!!

It's time for InStyle Stamps first Colour Challenge of the year. As we mentioned in our Sketch Challenge last week, you'll notice we've made some changes to the way our challenges look. This is to make it easier for you to participate, and spread the word about the challenges. Are you ready to see our gorgeous colors for this month?

Just look at that stunning butterfly! We've picked out some colors from the photo to inspire you - you can use them all, or you can leave off the neutrals and use whatever neutral you'd like. Just be sure to focus on those shades of green and brown! You'll also notice that this challenge (and all of our challenges now) have a specific keyword. Please use this when you upload to any online gallery, so we can easily find it! For this challenge, the keyword is ISSCC01.

Alice in Wonderland

I have had a fustrating morning ... why do black, grey and red pens have to bleed!!

Anyway I finally managed to get a card made .. no red though, well a teeny tiny bit!!  And it fits these challenges ...
Papertake Weekly - Cold and Frosty Morning
Oh Alice! Challenge - Remembering Holiday Dreams (I chose blue colour scheme)
Stampin for the weekend - New and blue

I ccoloured Alice in using my pens and then used my nestie labels to mat her up.  I stuck to a white background, just scoring it into a diamond pattern, half with the scoring ridge up and half down (if that makes any sense!!).  I added some blue gingham ruffle ribbon, some pale blue gems and lots of stickles ... very frosty, icy.

Now Alice's hair may not be as yellow as some people might think it should be ... but my off blond daughter has begun complaining that all the images I colour with blond hair have very blond hair like Beth, and "it ISN'T FAIR"!!  Quote, unquote, so I had a go at Ellie's hair.

Alice is from one of January's amazing releases from InStyle Stamps.  Take a look at Fairy Tales! A brand new rubber stamp set with six fairy tale inspired images. Snow White, Rapunzel, Alice, Sleeping Beauty, Thumbelina, And Red Riding Hood - they are all in there in amazing detail, just waiting for you to create with them! Fairy Tales will retail for $21.95, and will be available for purchase in the store just after CHA.

Magical Mondays

We are back with a slightly different theme of gothic angels. This week we want to see a naughty side to all your creations, the normal rules apply that it has to be a magical image but we are also accepting any Kenny K images as he has kindly sponsored us this week.

the wonderful prizes are

3 digis for 1st prize, 2 for 2nd and 1 for 3rd

I made 2 cards for the challenge ...

I coloured Raven using my pens, and cut her out using nesties.  I distressed the edgeof the image using starlight black ink.  I followed the sketch over at Friday Sketchers, and kept the details simple.  The dp is K and Co Que Sera, and the embellishments came from my stash.  As I am going to give this to my hubby for Valentines day I am entering into this week's Kenny K Krafty Girlz challenge, Love ya.

My second card using Devilish Donna ...

Again she is coloured using my pens and then i cut her out.  I loosley followed the sketch from Wild Orchid crafts ... put the ribbon in the wrong place ... doh!!!  Sorry about the quality of the pic ... I took it in hubby's light box thingy at night ... not a success!!!

Challenge cards

I had a colouring session last night, so I had to craft this morning rather than do house work!!!

I used one of the Sugar Nellie Simply Sassy range ... luv a latte and coloured her in using my pens.
I followed the sketch from Sketch Saturday, and rather than use lots of dp, I used white cardstock for the background, and used my martha Stewart board to score the diamond pattern .. its works perfectly with the BG Marjolaine papers I chose.  I added some card candy and a PB sentiment. As it is a thank you card it also fits this week's Totally Papercrafts challenge.

My second card also used Luv a Latte ... I have been experimenting with same colours and paper pads differernt looks for the same image ...
I followed the sketch challenge from CRAFT this week, and the recipe from Creative Inspirations fitted perfectly with the sketch.  I layered up some ribbon and some mulberry flowers and added a button to the centre of the flower.  It also fits the Basic Grey challenge, spots and dots.

And finally ...card 3 ...
I used this gorgeous fairy, Clover, toadstool dreams, and coloured it using my pens.  I adapted the sketch from Sketch Saturday, and used the same scored diamond background as before.  I added some card candy to finish.  I am entering this into the POllycraft Challenge, and Cupcake Craft challegne, as both are asking for something new .. .this image hs been used for the first time ... so its new :)  oh and scoring is a new technique for me.

I am going to bite the bullet and have a go fot the Simply Sassy GDT call ...
Make a Simply Sassy card with the style you love the most. Show me what your good at.
( I'll give you good time so that you can manage to get some SS stamps if you don't have)
Post your card in your blog and tell your readers about our GDT call, and link it here with the blue frog

Off to watch Tinkerbell with Beth ... hope I stay awake LOL!!

InStyle Stamps Fairy Tale Release

Here is another of January's amazing releases from InStyle Stamps.

Here are a couple of samples I made ...
I could resist having a go at making tower for Rapunzel ... and once I started I got a little carried away!!
I will be posting a tutorial on how i made this card ... just got to get round to typing it up.  I coloured Rapunzel in using my pens and trimmed the image to create the window.  I used Basic Grey's Marjolaine and cut vines and decorative bits out using Marianne Creatible dies.  The flowers are from Prima.  I used tiny green adhesive pearls for the centres of the flowers.   More details will be on my tutorial post and you will see all the layers more clearly.
Pens used: ivory, blush, sunkissed pink, gold, mustard, yellow, primrose, warm grey1-5, B45, B93, B00

Here is a different view to show the depth of the card ...
I am entering this card into the Allsorts challenge - Fancy Folds, and Basic Grey 's Dots and Spots challenge.

One of the other images is Snow White ...
I coloured her in using my pens and used my nesties to cut her out.  The edges of the image are inked in red ink.  The dp is Basic Grey Curio, and I made an easel card.  I used some red satin ribbon, and a huge prima flower layered with a spacer and pearl brad.  I added a heart charm.  For the base I followed the layout and used a pearl brad to stop it slipping.

Pens: ivory, blush, sunkissed pink, cool grey 5,4,3,1, cyan, sky blue, artic blue, gold, canary yellow, lemon, primrose, meadow green, apple, crimson, ruby

And don't forget January's  InStyle Stamps Sketch challenge. Here is the sketch ...

You'll notice some differences with our challenges this year. Each one has a specific keyword, so that you can upload to online galleries. We encourage to share your projects on your blog, and over on Paper Craft Planet - we have a fun group over there and will be starting a customer gallery. Each month we'll draw a random winner who will receive a litle gift from us, just for having a project in there! So always use the challenge keyword, and "instylestamps" (no quotation marks) when you upload at Paper Craft Planet!
And here is a card I made using the sketch and Thumbelina:

Thumbelina is just so precious nestled in those leaves (or flowers!).  I coloured her using promarkers and copic pens.  The edge of the image is distressed using thyme ink.  The dp is Basic Grey's Marjolane and i added a couple of satin ribbons from my stash, and some card candy.
Pens used: ivory, blush, sunkissed pink, gold, mustard., primrose, meadow grren, apple, YG03, G21, B45, B93, B00

InStyle Stamps Gracie and Twirla release

Introducing Gracie and Twirla! Aren't they just the most adorable pair? This rubber stamp set comes with nine images - Gracie twirling, Gracie tying her ballet slippers, Twirla dancing, a pair of ballet slipper, dancing feet, two different tutus, a wand, and a sentiment ("ballet keeps you on your toes"). How adorable are they? Like our Fairy Tales set, Gracie and Twirla will retail for $21.95 and will be available for purchase just after CHA. (I'll be showing you samples from the fairy tales Set tomorrow).

And here is a sample I made using the set...

I chose one of the tutus and sets of ballet shoes and coloured them in before cutting them out.  The dp I used is K and Co (Classic K I think), and I pleated some off white tulle across the centre to replicate the tulle in a tutu.  To add a bit of depth to the tutu, I also pleasted some tulle under it, and glimmered misted it with a bit of pearl.  I added some pale blue ribbon, and a bow, before adding some cherry blossoms and roses that I had glimmer misted in frost and pearl.  Finally a pale blue crstal chandelier thingy.

Here's a view of the tutu with its tulle underskirt.

I am entering this card into Stampin for the Weekend's New and blue challenge ... new are the images.

CAS Joy

My lovely blogging buddy and at times DT teamie Ali and I both love CAS cards.  Ali is much braver than me and regularly blogs her's ... I am getting better at it!!
We have a ickle challegne between us for CAS cards and Ali set the theme 'one for the girls' ... and here is my card ...
I just could not resist this gorgeous Sugar Nellie digi Joy, and she is a dream to colour.  As I was doing a CAS card I kept the colour scheme very simple .. .blue.  I just couldn't bring myself to do pink Ali, sorry!!!!  I followed the sketch over at Totally Gorguss as it is perfect for CAS cards.  The white cardstock is embossed using my Swiss dots folder.  I left part of it unembossed to fit the sketch and added some thin ribbon.  This week's Paper Play challenge is clean and simple so I am entering it into that too.  Stampin for the Weekend have a new and blue challenge .. new image and blue, oh and as Joy is a digi I am entering it into this week's digi day challenge over at Stamp Something.

I will be back later with some amazing stamps from InStyle Stamps .. Virginia is definitely spoiling us this month.

A couple of cards ... and Miffy

My craft desk was bereft of my lovely pussy cat yesterday ... she had been missing for a couple of days.  We leafletted the street asking people to look in their sheds for her .. .and a lovely man did and found her.
So here she is this morning, helping me out ... well sort of helping!!
I konw Christmas has just been and gone, but Pops has the idea to start making Christmas cards again, so we now have a FB group called Sunday for Santa ... and this week's challegne is All that Sparkles ... lots of glitter!

I combined the challegne with this week's LOTV challenge as I just LOVE James ... I think I might have overdone the gold glamour dust!!!  I coloured him with my copics and glazed the baubles.  The corners were created using my Mairanne Creatible die, ad the dp is Basic Grey Eskimo Kisses .. I bought it 2 Christmases ago and really haven't got into using it!
The card fits these challenges:
Lili of the Valley - sketch
Cute card Thursday - old stash

Onto my 2nd card ... by now Miffy was ensconced on my chair so I had to colour standing up!!
A friend asked me to make a card for his fiancee ... I don't do engagement and wedding cards overly well ... not really got the right images.  But this ickle mouse seemed to fit as he is throwing petals around (loves me ... loves me not!!!)  I coloured it using my copics and promarkers and again used some very neglected dp - Basic Grey Koishi ... didn't get into this one either, far to busy for me I think!!  I added some lilac ribbon and a bow ... no flowers as the papers really don't need anything more.  And no sentiment .. not sure what he wants to put on it!
And challenges ... (I am counting engagement as a New Beginning)

Simon Says Stamp - New beginnings
Creative Card Crew - New beginings
Trully Scrumptious - sketch + dreaming of summer (image and papers are summery)
House Mouse and friends - New beginnings
Cute Card Thursday - old stash - papers

A sad WOYWW and InStyle Stamps sketch challenge

This is my work desk this morning ... I couldn't decide last night what to stamp up!!

The LOTV image is ready to go on a card ... coloured the car red ... no red papers ...hmmmmm!!!

Something is sadly missing from my desk this morning ... my pussycat.  She hasn't been home for 36 hours and we are getting a little worried about her :(  Hopefully she will return from her adventure and join in my crafting later today.

Its also time for the InStyle Stamps Sketch challenge. Here is the sketch ...
