Simply Sassy Guest DT call

The Simply Sassy by Sugar Nellie blog is having a GDT call ... click the pic to go to the post for deets.

Now for those of you who follow my blog, you will know that I am a bit of a Simply Sassy fan ... just LOVE Krista's artwork and the Sugar Nellie stamps.  For the DT call you have to choose 3 Simply Sassy cards/projects that show your style ... only 3!!!  That was really, really hard!!!  Partly as I have lots more than 3 cards that I LOVE, and also as I don't really have a specific style, I do a bit of vintage, CAS, really anything that takes my fancy on a particular day.

Soooo ... here are my favourite Sassy projects  ...

Amelia has to be my favourite image .. I even have her on my bedroom wall!!

Here I stamped her twice and mounted sections onto chippie squares.

This was my Simply Sassy In the Spotlight card ... chippie square and lots of texture.

Butterflies and Pigtails is such a great image ...expecially as I have girl who would catch butterflies given half a chance!!
Here she is teamed up with stamped and glassine paper butterflies.

5th Avenue ... one VERY Sassy lady!!

Here teamed up with kraft and a bit of grunge.

Winking Student ...
Clean and simple and lots of white ... I do like white space.

And finally (I know more than 3!!  But when you own them all ...)

Artistic Godess ...
I love doing her hair wacky colours!  Again a clean and simple, lots of white card

Blue Romantic Dreamer

What a wet day ... best place to be is in the craft room!

I coloured Romantic Dreamer in last weekend, but hadn't got her onto a card until this morning.  She is coloured using my promarkers (and the fancy new nibs which I LOVE!).  The dp is MME Stella Rose and I added ribbon, lace, a doilly and flowers all from my stash.  I followed the sketch over at the Sugar Bowl, and added the extra optional of lace.

And as it is Monday, I am entering it into this week's Make it Monday ... I will get round more blogs this week!  It akso fits this week's Simon Says Stamp challenge- Anything Goes

Basic Grey Challenge

Its time for another of our fortnightly Basic Grey Challenges, and the theme this time is STITCHING, either really our faux, it doesn't matter.

As always, our wonderful sponsor Simon Says Stamp is offering one lucky winner a fab $25 shopping spree in the Simon Says Superstore, just think of the goodies you could treat yourself to with that !!
Simon Says Stamp $25 Credit Voucher

I used 5th Avenue from Sugar Nellie's Simply Sassy range, and stamped her onto kraft, before colouring her with prismas.  The dp is Basic Grey Curio, which I distressed using my TH tool and sepia ink.  The stamped detail round the image is from part of a Prima stamp.  I faux stitched all the papers and added some lace from my lovely DT buddy Sandie, and some flowers from my stash.  The sentiment is part of an Inkadinkado stamp, and the flat backed pearls are from my stash.

Challenges -
Simon Says Stamp - sketch
Crafts and Me - we are in stitches

Bright and bold, subtle and subdued

I had to have a play last night with my Sassys set 7 ... love Mark at Funky kits for getting these out soooo fast.
If you have seen my earlier post today you will have seen that i stamped some of these images out onto kraft to see what it was like to colour on kraft ... here is Missing you ...

Doesn't she look all forlorn?  I coloured her in using distress inks, and then distressed the edges.  I made the background using distress inks, glimmer mists and kraft paper.  The hearts are cut out of off-cuts.  I added some layered gingham and some gingham ribbon to lift it a little, and punched some ickle butterflies.  Finally some flat backed gems to set off the shimmer.

CHallenges -
Simon Says Stamp - sparkle and shine
Crafts and Me - anything goes + kraft

And onto a complete contrast ...!!
I used 5th Avenue  and coloured her with my promarkers, before stickling her dress.  I kept it very simple, just using cardstock and no embossing folders (shock, horror, needed a sit down!!)  I put some dst in a sort of circle onto the white cardstock and then ruffled the red ribbon onto it.  Finally a blue bow, a charm and some card candy.

Challenges -
Passion for Promarkers - red, white and blue + a charm
Sugar Bowl - sketch (but no distressing)
Divas by Design - one for the girls

I've been bursting to tell everyone ... I have been asked by the fab girlies over at Totally Papercraft Challenge to be part of the Design Team ... I confess to a nano-second of thought before I said yes!!!!!

This week's challenge is a recipe ... 1 image, 2 papers, 3 embellishments.
I used Winking Student from Sugar Nellie's Simply Sassy range, and coloured her using my promarkers, and paper pieced her top, skirt and one of the books.  Remind me not to paper piece again with this image ... lots of fiddlly little bits!!!  The dp is a Nitwits one, and the embellies are all from stash.

Sassy's and sketches x2

Its a glorious day here, and the gardening has been done, and the washing brought in, so a little crafting was in order before the ironing is tackled!!

I coloured these images last night ... so just needed to put them on a card.

As some of you may know ... I LOVE my Sugar Nellies and especially the Sassys ... even bought set 6, just waiting for my postie LOL!!  I coloured Artistic Godess in using my promarkers.  I decided to go for a mainly monochrome card, with just a bit of colour ... her hair is rather colourful LOL!!!  I embossed the panels of white cardstock using a couple of embossing folders.  The black flower was a white one that I coloured in using my black promarker, and layered it up using flowers from my stash, finally adding an organza bow.  I followed the sketch over at the Simply Sassy blog, and am entering this into their GDT.  They have also got a blog hop runnig until Tuesday, I'll be hopping in a bit.

I love Romantic Dreamer, love her look, and that skirt! again she is coloured in using my promarkers, and i have been having another play with different colours.  The dp is Basic Grey Wisteria, and I followed the sketch over at I Love Promarkers.  I added some flat backed pearls nad black ribbon to finish it off.  I added some black faux stitching, which is this week's Secret Crafter Saturday Challenge theme.

Sugar Nellie's Sassy Fashionista (x3!!!)

I have been having a play with my latest Simply Sassy, Fashionista.  I have been experiementing with different looks for her ...

First I had a go using some fab vintage papers my lovely crafting buddy, and friend Ali gave me ...
I coloured the iamge in using my promarkers and then matted her and the dp (Papermania V&A collection)onto black cardstock.  I coloured some white organza and satin ribbon black with my black copic pen, and then made a flower with the satin ribbon, simply doing a running stitch along one edge and gathering it and stitching into a floewr.  I added some card candy and a pin to it.  Simply Sassy are doing a GDT call, so I have followed the sketch for that.

A modern look for the second ...
This time I coloured her in using pinks and greys and again matted her and the dp (Basic Grey Olivia) onto black cardstock.  I added some circles created using punched flowers and layered the butterflies onto them, and some card candy to finish it off.
Challenges:
Colour Create - pink, black and white
Totally Papercrafts - sketch
Stamp Something - Sassy and circles

And finally a White on White card ...
Again Fashionista is coloured in using my promarkers and then  I cut her out.  I followed the sketch from the Sugar Bowl, and the colour theme, purple and green.  I used a doilly  as I haven't got my Bug and nesties with me as we are still on holiday.  I used embossed panels from Ali, and arranged them at a quirky angle, inverting the embossing on the middle two.  I added some white organza, a double bow and some white flat backed pearls.
Challenges:
A Spoonful of Sugar - Tons of Texture
Crafty Catz - Embossing
The Stamp Man - Embossing

I do love my Sassys!!!  Just wished I brought more with me on holiday ... I did have to confess to owning all but 5 of them!!!!

I am off to play in the garden with the girls and hopefully we will blogging this evening if the internet continues to behave itself!!!

Simply Sassys

I have been meaning to get these Sassys inked and coloured for a while ... so today I thought I would knock a few challenges on the head and use these cuties from Sugar Nellie ...

First up is Bad Hare Day ... my Ellie has finally put her very loved bunny to bed, after 6 years of constant kissing and hugging!    I coloured the image using my promarkers and then cut her out.  I foloowed the sketch and CAS theme over at the Sugar Bowl, using Papermania papers and cardstock.  The punched border is a Martha Stewart one, and the embossing folder is one of my faves!!  I added a few green flat backed pearls to finish it.  Sugar Nellie have a weekly facebok challenge, and this week it is a colour theme ... mint choc chip ice-cream ... think its about right!!

Isn't Bunting adorable!!  Love her ickle flags.  I coloured her again with promarkers and them cut her out.  I followed the Stamp with Fun sketch, and the colour theme (purple and green) from I Love Promarkers.  The dp is MME and I matted it onto green cardstock.  I used my WOJ pendant die to make the triangles behind the circle.  Finally I added some flowers from my stash.  I am also entering it into this week's Passion for Promarkers girly challenge.

My Simply Sassys set 5 arrived today ... so watch out for more Sassys ... although I have a couple of House Mouses ready to assemble!!

Simply Sassy Windswept

I have been having a play with my distress inks and watercolour paper, instead of the linen cardstock I have always stamped on ... I love the watercolour paper, just need to practise getting the shading right!
I'm also having a bit of a brown, and Sugar Nellie week!!
This is Windswept - don't you love that hair!!  She is watercoloured and then I distressed the background and edges.  I kept the embellishments really simple, just some raffia and satin ribbon from my stash and a layered flower.  The gem brad and pearls are also from my stash.
 Challenges:
Simon Says Stamp - Coffee and Cream

Sketch Saturday - sketch
Pollycraft challenge - pearls and diamonds

And a CAS card ... do love these cards.
This is Joy, one of SN's digis, again printed on watercolour paper, and then coloured using distress inks.  I inked the edges in pink, and then all the white cardstock in pink.  Very simple.

Challenges:
The Sugar Bowl - sketch and CAS

I have been given this award by Valerie, thank you Valerie.

I will have a think about 7 random facts LOL!!  And would like to pass it on to everyone who follows and comments on my blog xx

A Sugar Nellie, and Ali's new blog addy

Beth and I had some 'bonding' time today.  Recently I have had the urge to bond her with anything but love, possibly Superglue, as she is being an imp.  Today I thought I would spend some 'our' time with her to see if it improved her impish ways!

So we made this ...

Beth chose the image (Lurve a Latte by Sugar Nellie), and then helped me stamp it up. I coloured it using my Promarkers and hen Beth went round the outside with the blending pen!!  She chose the embossing folders, turned the handle, distressed the edges and sanded them ... yep she did all the messy bits!!  She picked the ticket out and added it at its cheeky angle ... so basically all I did was colour!!

We are entering it into this week's Passion for Promarkers challenge - Coffee and Cream.

Now my lovely blogging buddy Ali has moived her blog as she is having problems with Blogger.  You can find her here ...

Windswept

We have had a busy morning tidying and cleaning ... sent hubby out to buy some more storage units for the girls' toys.
I did find some time to ink up and colour one of my new Sugar Nellie Simply Sassy's - windswept.
I coloured the image using my promarkers, and then distressed the edges in milled lavender and stamped the swirl in dusty concorde.  The edges of all the cardstock and dp is brushed in starlight black ink, and the white cardstock is embossed using my D'vine swirls folder.  I added some gorgeous lace from my lovely blogging buddy Ali, (thank you sweetie, it broke my heart to cut it!!!), some ribbon, a bow, and a flower with a button centre.

It fits these challenges:
I Love Promarkers - lavender and lace
Everybody-Art-Challenge - Favourite things - Sugar Nellie Simply Sassy stamps, my promarkers, crafting!!
Creative Inspirations - buttons and bows
Friday Sketcher - sketch
Totally Gorguss - As you like it

And being brave having seen everyone else's entries, a final go at the Simply Sassy GDT call.

Frilly frills!!

Just a quick post from me tonight ...
I made this card this morning in a crafting session with Beth.  She asked about the TH distressing tool I have, and then distressed all the papers for me ... she loves it!!

I coloured the SN Simply Sassy image in using my distress inks ... I do find that skirt challenging LOL!!!  I embossed some white cardstock, and Beth distressed it all and then helped ink it all up.  I lavender ribbon and a heart doily finishes it off.

I used the sketch from the Sugar Bowl ... and the other challegnes I will add later, when i find the list!!!

Found it!!
A Spoonfull of Sugar - Valentine
My Time to Craft - emboss, emboss, emboss
CHarisma Cardz - Valentine/love

We have had a busy afternoon ....
Beth went in to have grommets fitted as her hearing is rubbish and she is constantly having infections.
Here she is after her op ...  the knittedc bunny is from Gayle ... it is now called Lily :)
And here are her cards ....
(Gayle, Debby, Pops, Lorraine, Linda, Jan, Pippa)
 (me(!!) Ali, Ellie, sarah)

Thank you to everyone who made/sent her cards, she loved opening them and it kept her distracted during that awful waiting time.

Now I just need a good night's sleep to recover from it all!!

A couple of cards

Its taken me a couple of days to get these cards finished ... life is one long roller coaster here at the mo ... and we are now onto geting Beth prepared for hospital on thursday.

I love Sugar Nellie's Simply Sassy range ... Hippy Chick is a definite favourite.
I watercoloured her using my distress inks.  I spritzed round her using hydrangea glimmer mists.  The sketch is from Friday Sketchers, and I used doliys for the circle elements.  The outer one is spritzed in Dusty Concorde distress ink and then hydrangea glimmer mists.  The dp is Basic Grey Koishi, and the ribbon and flowers are from my stash.  I am entering it into this week's Basic Grey CHallenge, flowers, and also the Simply Sassy Guest DT call ... if I don't try I'll never know LOL!!

Now this card id for hubby for Valentine's day ...
I love these latest LOTV images, and just had to have this one.  I coloured it using my Promarkers, and then followed the sketch from this week's Lili of the Valley challegne.  The white cardstock is embossed wusing my hearts folder.  I made the heart by covering one I drew in glitter paint (3 layers) and once it was dry using crackle accents to get the crackle effect.  The button hole feature was punched when I drew it.
Here is a close up of the heart ... I am quite please with it :)
The card also fits these challenges:
Passion for Promarkers - All you need is Love
I love promarkers - Keep it sweet and Simple
Totally Papercrafts - Add a heart
Craft Your Days Away - love

I am going to have a day in my craft room ... I feel the need for crafting therapy LOL!!

Little Light of Mine

I had a disastrous afternoon yesterday ... sat down to colour some images in for some DT work I wanted to get done ... ohhh the mess!!! Between bleeding inks and a cat with muddy paw prints there was nothing to show for it!!!
Except this .. I finally resorted to distress inks and a play, and the cat curled up and went to sleep!!!!

I coloured this ickle cuties in my distress inks and then faux stitched round the outside of the image in a starlight gel pen.  I kept the layout very simple, just embossing the background with my Swiss dots folder and added a corner of dp, oh and some ribbon.  I haven't added a sentiment, not really into sentiments!!  But I think I will probably give this to one of my friend's for her birthday ... think its OK for a birthday card :)
