What's on your Workdesk???

Well its hump day ... Wednesday!!  And I am mostly waiting for things to dry ... my washing, and some spritzed papers ... waiting slightly impatiently for the latter!!  So I will be trotting though blogland looking at the weekly desks of the crafty peeps, hosted by the amazing Julia .
So here is my desk in all its glory ... glimmer mists and masks out .. waiting for that spritzed cardstock to dry ... might be getting the heat gun out soon!!  A tube of translucent silicon in the background .. yep I buy the bulk version and put it in a gun ... lasts for ages works well in a pot or syringe and so so so much cheaper than buying the craft one .. just need to make sure hubby buys the RIGHT one LOL!!!  The translucent one!
And there is a paper mache flatish bauble that I have been playing with ... decopatch (sort of) and glimmer glaze.
Oh and there is a lazy ribbon bag ... that's all the ribbons I have used that ae waiting to be put away ... need to spend some time tidying properly!!

And here is the drying project ... now to add masks and layer up DIs and glimmer mists ... when it is dry!!

I haven't forgotten about my candy ... will announce the winner later today.

Sweet Stampin' Challenge

The theme for this week's Sweet Stampin' challenge is a photo inspiration ...

And here is my take on the photo ...
I stamped this gorgeous SU flower twice in blue, green and coral, and then cut out the elements and layered them up.  I cut out the centre of a doilly and pleated it to create the lacey bouquet and added the layered flower to the centre.  The  swirl pattern is created using coral ink and a SU wheel, and I added a matching green ribbon.  All very simple!

We are sponsored by our lovely teamy Fi, this week and she has 2 Sugar Nellie stamps up for grabs.

Challenges:
2 Sisters - ribbon
Allsorts - anything but square
CES - Entertain Us inspired by a song/film ... Radiohead Lotus flower

Totally Papercrafts Challenge

Woohhhhoooo I've got that Friday feeling :)

In Stitches

I used this fab Christmas paper from Bo Bunny, and stitched the background and then the squares using my sewing machine (I confess to having been a bit nervous putting cardstock through my beloved seing machine, but it seemed happy enough!).  I stamped the reindeer and sentiment onto kraft cardstock, and added some sparkle to the reindeer.  Quite simple really.

Angelica

My lovely older DD is going to be 7 soon ... so I needed to get a crack on and make her birthday card.

This is Angelica from Sugar Nellie 9looks like she is out of stock at the moment), and I masked the bunny off, as I didn't want it (just for this card though!!).  She is coloured using my promarkers and flexmarkers, and a smattering of glamour dust has been added to her fairy wings.  The dp is MME Penny Lane and is very glittery and sparkly!!  I matted them onto silver and purple cardstock.  I made a layered tag and stamped the sentiment on.  I made Ellie's name using an alphabet stamp set. The image is popped onto 3d pads so the tag can slide behind it.   Finally I added gingham ribbon, punched butterflies, pearls and a metal charm accenty thingy that I have had for AGES!!

Challenges:
Crafty Creations - purple, green and silver
Creative Inspirations - lashings of sparkle
For Fun - special birthday
I love Promarkers -glitter and glitz
Divas by Design - use metal
Charisma Cardz - cutesy
Stampavie and More - anything goes
Passion for Promarkers - a day at the zoo (Chester zoo has an amazing butterfly house!)

Sugar Bowl #71

Its Erika's turn to set the sketch over at the Sugar Bowl challenge this week, and the optional extra is patchwork.
One lucky winner of this challenge will have their choice of 4 stamps (or 6 stamps, if we reach 100+ entries) either from the new release or any stamps from the Sugar Nellie range at

Here's the sketch ...
 and my card ...
I used a Sugar Nellie digi image, Little Plaits, and coloured her using my promarkers.  I 'stole' some pink dp from the girls' craft stash and made up patch work squares, stitching them together using my sewing machine.  I stitched some co-ordinating panels across the centres, and added a flower created using a Marianne Creatible die set and a pink gingham bow behind it.  The sentiment is a Penny Black one.

Now I know it is pink ... and I HATE pink, but one of Beth's friends has just started wearing glasses and she hates them, really hates them ... but loves pink ... so I made a card for her from Beth, hopefully to make her feel better, as that is one cute image, and wearing glasses.  It did make me think, as I was trying to find a stamp to use, how few stamps there are out there with people/children wearing glasses ...hmmmm.

WOYWW

Well not much ... my week off paled into sickness starting with the girls and ending in me!!  We went to Scotland, I had a fab time at the SECC (spent a bob or two!!) and then came home feeling pants, the train journey was far to long and uncomfortable.  Took the ipad and hubby's pooter and dongle .. neither wanted to connect ot the internet!!  Tyical .. or trying to tell us something lOL!

Slowly getting back into crafting .. but not much to show this week ...
Reasonably clear desk, just a basket of ribbons to put away ... but look at hubby's space!!  It should be binned, so messy!!!!!

My desk is so tidy as I spent the evening helping Beth make her homework project .. a Diva lamp!!  Out of a paper cup!

We have to collage the outside of a paper cup and then make a flame ... not as far as the flame yet!  But not too bad, considering Beth talks ... and I mean talks!  Paper stuck to her fingers she was concentrating so much on talking rather than sticking LOL!!  We have until Monday to get it finished, and it will take that long!!

Well I am off to persue (nosy at) the crafting world's desks, courtesy of the wonderful Julia, anyone joining me???

Shabby pom pom

I am striving to craft in the evening and share my space with the DH ... it is a strain!!!  But I did get this made last night ...

I used this cute image, Pom pom, from LOTV, and coloured her with my promarkers and flexmarkers.  She has been duly glamour dusted and all the papers and cardstock distressed.  The dp is K and Co Charlotte, and I got my machine out (thought the noise might annoy him ... fat chance!!) amd stitched the elements together.  Finall I added lace, ribbon, a bow, crocheted flowers (thanks Jo!) and a flower and button to their centres.

Challenges:
Magical Mondays -circles and stripes
Addicted to stamps - shabby/vintage
Anything Goes - stitching
ABC - crochet flowers
Oldie but a goodie - buttons and bows
Stamp with Fun - buttons
Lili of the Valley - sketch
The Pink Elephant - distressing

The Craft Garden Monthly Challenge

This is my first DT card for the Craft Garden ...how exciting is that!!

This month we are very lucky to be sponsored by Crafty Sentiments Designs  who have provided the design team with some images to use.  One lucky winner (drawn at random) will win some images of their choice from their shop.

The challenge this month is quite simply CHRISTMAS but with a twist. You can't use any red or green on your creation!

I used this cute ickle pengiun and coloured him in using my promarkers.  I cut the top part of him out and glamour dusted the tree and round his feet.  I matted embossed white and turquoise cardstock onto purple cardstock, and added some purple ribbon and snowflakes.

Challenges:
A Passion for Promarkers - day at the zoo
Papertake Weekly - Anything Goes
Glitter Fairies - Non traditional Christmas
The Ribbon Girls - jingle all the way to Christmas
