Papertake Weekly Challenge - Guest Designer spot

Its my 2nd week guest designing for the Papertake Weekly Challenge.  The theme this week is Trully Dimensional ... we want to see lots of dimension and layers, nothing flat!!

I think I might have been a bit ambitious with this one!!!  I stamped this gorgeous House Mouse stamp out 5 times and then used my Labels nesties to cut them out in descreasing sizes.  I coloured the iamges in using my promarkers and then layered them up using 3d pads.  The dp is Making Memories Ethan, and I added some card candy to complete it.

Challenges;
A Spoonfull of Sugar - all creatures great and small

Happy Birthday Mum

Its my Mum's birthday ... and here are the cards the girls have made for her ...

Ellie's

Beth's

They were allowed to use my promarkers and copics ... I supervised them VERY closely lOL!!!  And they raided the limited stash of bling I had brought with me as we are on holiday ... all the bling is now on their cards!!!

If you would like to visit their blog and add a comment (which they would love to read!!) please click the link in my sidebar.

And I have maded this White on White card using Joy from Sugar Nellie.
I coloured her using my grey promarkers and then matted her onto embossed cardstock (thank you Ali!!) and added a ribbon.
This is alot more in my comfort zone than this week's Less is More challenge ... I felt like curling up under a stone and hiding ... totally failed on that one!!!
Challenges:
One Stop Craft - monochromatic

Less is More attempt 2

I am beginning to think I am a glutton for punishment and I need to stop loving a challenge ...!!!!  This week's Less is More is OLC with the focus on the sentiment ... my first attempt included a flower stamp that might detract a little from the sentiment so .... I had another think.  I only have the LOTV additions sentiments with me on holiday  (not that I do sentiment stamps!) and while I was looking at them the idea of layering some of the words came to mind.  I would have liked to have put them in an embossed panel ... but no Bug as on holiday, so I just stamped them directly onto the card.

I deliberately placed party at an angle, and then added Be fabulous to the bottom ... quirky angle thanks to a small, very excited child telling me that "its Naini's birthday"!!!!!  I felt it needed some strong colour so I added this turquoise ribbon ... strongest colour I have here.

Does it work ... oh I don't know ... I am so uncomfortable with sentiments!!!

Less is More

This week's Less is More is OLC with the focus on the sentiment ... eeeekkKKKK!!!  I don't really do sentiment stamps, and being on holiday no printer to print one ... so it have made the best using my stash ...

I was playing around yesterday with this Stampendous flower, positioning it off the page.  So I added one of my new LOTV circle additions sentiment that I brought away with me to play with. (that sentimet stamp is not stamping very well .. very blotchy, even after several attempts .. I thought I had got it right and then stamped it onto the card and ... blotchy ... arrrgggghhhhh!!!)  I added some ribbon to the card ... loves my gingham ribbon.

I think the flower might draw too much away from the sentiment ... maybe it would have been better left uncoloured???   Think I'll be having another go at tis when we get home next week!!

It is my Mum's birthday today so we are off out for the day .. .have a great day everyone xx

Sugar Nellie's Sassy Fashionista (x3!!!)

I have been having a play with my latest Simply Sassy, Fashionista.  I have been experiementing with different looks for her ...

First I had a go using some fab vintage papers my lovely crafting buddy, and friend Ali gave me ...
I coloured the iamge in using my promarkers and then matted her and the dp (Papermania V&A collection)onto black cardstock.  I coloured some white organza and satin ribbon black with my black copic pen, and then made a flower with the satin ribbon, simply doing a running stitch along one edge and gathering it and stitching into a floewr.  I added some card candy and a pin to it.  Simply Sassy are doing a GDT call, so I have followed the sketch for that.

A modern look for the second ...
This time I coloured her in using pinks and greys and again matted her and the dp (Basic Grey Olivia) onto black cardstock.  I added some circles created using punched flowers and layered the butterflies onto them, and some card candy to finish it off.
Challenges:
Colour Create - pink, black and white
Totally Papercrafts - sketch
Stamp Something - Sassy and circles

And finally a White on White card ...
Again Fashionista is coloured in using my promarkers and then  I cut her out.  I followed the sketch from the Sugar Bowl, and the colour theme, purple and green.  I used a doilly  as I haven't got my Bug and nesties with me as we are still on holiday.  I used embossed panels from Ali, and arranged them at a quirky angle, inverting the embossing on the middle two.  I added some white organza, a double bow and some white flat backed pearls.
Challenges:
A Spoonful of Sugar - Tons of Texture
Crafty Catz - Embossing
The Stamp Man - Embossing

I do love my Sassys!!!  Just wished I brought more with me on holiday ... I did have to confess to owning all but 5 of them!!!!

I am off to play in the garden with the girls and hopefully we will blogging this evening if the internet continues to behave itself!!!

Easter Bunny Girl

It is a glorious day in the Lakes today .. the lambs are gambolling around, the girls have washed the car and now resemble drowned rats, and I have made a card :)
I love hAnglars and after some pondering decided to get the Easter kit as I think I can use the images minus the ears for other cards.  I coloured the image in using my promarkers and then cut her out.  The dp is a mix of MME and Pink Petticoat.  I added some organza ribbon and some punched flowers and a punched butterfly.  Finally some flat backed gems to finish it off.  I need to bribe my Mum to write Happy easter on it as her handwriting is better than mine.  I am going to give this to my neice Tilly for Easter.

For Fun - Anything with a bunny

I have used my Tilda with Straw hat and coloured her using my copics.  The dp is a mix of Basic Grey Oh Baby Girl ( a current favourite) and gingham papers from Pink Petticoat.  I added some lilac organza ribbon and tied a bow.  The flowers are punched using my EK Success punches, and I added flat backed gems to their centres ... its very simple as we are on holiday at the mo so I couldn't pack lots of crafting stash ... just a small tote.

Less is More

We are on holiday at my parents at the moment with very limited internet access ... its taken me all day to get on to get this posted!!

Here is my card for this week's  Less is More challenge - add a little red.  I stamped this Stampendous flower bloom onto red cardstock aand cut it out.   I matted it onto black cardstock and then red cardstock.  I added some gingham ribbon, and then put the flower mat on using raised pads.  I am also entering it into this week's Allsorts Challenge - Blooming Blossoms.

And some quick photos of the holiday so far ...
Here are the ickle flower baskets the girls made for my Mum...
... and the first lambs at my Mums ....
 and my new Dorothy shoes!!!!

I hope to get back onto the internet soon, and visit  you all ... hopefully!!!

Tilda with straw hat

I am loving my new Tildas, but not my very wet distress ink pads .. .can't understand why some of them have suddenly gone very moist!!!

Here is Tilda with Straw Hat.  I watercoloured her and added some flat backed pink gems.  The dp is Basic Grey Infuse (love that range!) and I added some flowers, baby's breathe and a pin.  The sentiment is a Whimsy Ticket stamp, with the ticket parts masked off.  I added 3 small gems to it.

Just a short post as I am on holiday ... and Happy Mothering Sunday to all you Mums out there :)

Basic Grey Challenge - More than 1 fold

This week's Basic Grey Challenge is More than 1 fold, and we are sponsored by
Simon Says Stamp who is offering one lucky winner a fab $25 shopping spree in the Simon Says Superstore, just think of the goodies you could treat yourself to with that !!

Simon Says Stamp $25 Credit Voucher

I made a tri-old card, a style I haven't made for ages ...
I covered the outer panels and inner panel in Marjolaine papers, and fastened organza ribbon to the back.  I stamped the LOTV sentiment and cut it out using my nesties.
Inside I stamped a Lavinia flower head and matted it onto the Marjoliane papers.  It is a really easy style of card to make, but effective.  The ribbon is fastened to keep the card closed.
