Less is More

This week's Less is More is OLC with the focus on the sentiment ... eeeekkKKKK!!!  I don't really do sentiment stamps, and being on holiday no printer to print one ... so it have made the best using my stash ...

I was playing around yesterday with this Stampendous flower, positioning it off the page.  So I added one of my new LOTV circle additions sentiment that I brought away with me to play with. (that sentimet stamp is not stamping very well .. very blotchy, even after several attempts .. I thought I had got it right and then stamped it onto the card and ... blotchy ... arrrgggghhhhh!!!)  I added some ribbon to the card ... loves my gingham ribbon.

I think the flower might draw too much away from the sentiment ... maybe it would have been better left uncoloured???   Think I'll be having another go at tis when we get home next week!!

It is my Mum's birthday today so we are off out for the day .. .have a great day everyone xx

Taking crafty things on holiday is real dedication to your hobby!
I must agree with Mandi in that the flower does look like the focus point of the card!
We'll look forward to seeing mark II!

Crafting on holiday!! :) That's dedication for you.

The card is lovely, but I think you're right that the flower does tend to pull your eye. Very pretty!

Have a great day with your mum.

Fabulous card but as you've said doesn't quite fit the criteria - looking forward to seeing version 2 when you've got all your crafty stash to play with

Lovely card - and yes I think the flower would have been just the job left as an outline. 10/10 though for coming up with a lovely card while on holiday; a truly dedicated crafter. Lynn x

I agree with Mandi and Chrissie about the flower being more focal than the sentiment but it's a lovely card regardless. So difficult to sort out when you haven't got your normal craft stuff around you.

I love that sentiment, it looks like a badge. Maybe had you just highlighted alittle colour on the flower instead of colouring the whole thing it wouldn't distract from the beautiful sentiment.
(althought the flower is gorgeous, would have been fab from the touch of red challenge)

Cathy...I can't believe you took your crafty supplies on holiday with you! My hubby would faint! LOL! It's a fab card, but the beautiful red flower does draw the eye.

As for stamps that don't stamp right. My stamps sometimes don't pick up the ink well, and I can see that it's "bubbled" on the stamp. When that happens, I use a big white eraser and rub it all over the stamp (just like I was erasing the stamp). Then I wash the stamp off and try reinking it again. Usually helps me to get a cleaner image. Hope it helps you out.

Hugs! Susan
