I have kept it all very simple and used the same cardstock and image for both.
I used a wallet I saw on Camilla's blog as the template for this - it is quick to make and I love the folding out into a gatefold style card.
and here is the little gift bag.
This week the Design Team are offering their creations to lucky participants in the challenge. Now I have the problem that my gift box has already been sent to Lorraine, however I am going to make another one for 1 lucky person. It will be filled with ribbons and flowers and other little crafty bits and pieces. (I'll put a pic on when I have made it!) All you have to do is join in this week's ABC challenge (and I will be checking LOL!!) and leave a comment on this post to say you would like to win a gift bag. To make it more interesting, I will make a gift bag for every 1o comments I get ... so if 20 people comments that 2 gift bags up for grabs etc.
Here is how you make the gift box.
I orginally found the tutorial on SCS but have adapted it again and again to suit me. Oh and changed it from inches to cms as my mat and cutter are in cms!
1. Cut your cardstock 28cm x 21 3/4cm.
2. Score your paper along the longer edge at 5cm, 12 3/4 cm, 17 3/4 cm and 25cm.
3. Turn cardstock and score along the shorter edge at 5cm and 17 3/4cm
4.With the longer side at the top, cut all but one of the 5cm sections off as shown. Then cut the narrow piece at an angle.
If you are using plain cardstock that you want to decorate, this is the time to stamp, emboss etc.
5.Now along the bottom edge, cut up the vertical score lines to create flaps.
6. The flap that you have left at the top will be the fold over part of your box, so decorate as you want. I like to use my Fiskars Threading water punch so I can use the holes to attach a gift tag.
7. Put double sided sticky tape ar other adehive onto the flap with the angle cut out. It is a good idea to stick any image and bits and pieces on at this stage.
8. Carefully fold in and assemble the box. Secure the bottom using adhesive.
