Sketch and Stash 51

Your Choice

We are up to Sketch 51 which means that the Sketch and Stash challenge has been going for nearly 2 years, and I have been there since the start ... so it is with great sadness that I have decided to step down from the team after this challenge.  All good things have to come to an end, and I think it is time for someone else to offered the opportunity to work with the fabulous DT girls.

Anyway we have a fab challenge lined up for you ... and some fab prizes from some of our regular sponsors.
 Here are our prizes ...

from our very regular sponsor Simon Says  Stamp we have this fab prize.

Katharina over at Whiff of Joy is offering a stamp of YOUR choice

Elaine from Quixotic Paperie is offering this fab embellishment pack ...

Whimsy Stamps are offering a $15 voucher for their store

is offering 2 of her fabulous new rubber stamps ...

As well as offering these fabulous prizes we are also running a scavenger hunt.  Hidden on some of the DT blogs are some mystery  prizes ... if you want to be in with a chance of winning one of these prizes, offered by Meljen Designs and Wags n Whiskers, you need to comment on the DT blogs and enter the challenge  (we will check LOL!!).

OK so to be in with a chance of winning one of these fabulous prizes all you need to do is make a card using one of our last 50 sketches ... yep it is your choice which sketch you use.  To find our sketch catalogue click on the link on the right hand sidebar ... all of them are there for you to peruse!

I was the guest designer for challenge 1 before joining the team fulltime ... so I just had to pick Sketch 1.

I used this gorgeous digi image,  Valentine Ava, from InStyle Stamps and coloured her using my copics.  The dp is Basic Grey Olivia and I added some raffia lace and ink ribbon, some punched flowers, and a Whimsy ticket, cut out with my new Whimsy ticket die.

Off to wrestle with a broken down boiler ...  it seems to be an annual problem when the weather gets really cold.

InStyle Stamps Inspiration challenge and WOYWW

Its time for another InStyle Stamps inspirational challenge.  There's love in the air today on the InStyle Stamps blog! We're talking about Valentine's Day with this InSpiration challenge - it seems far away but it's never too soon to get started! The fabulous Martha Stewart lent us an idea this month - were going to make our own packaging (or wrapping paper) and a matching card! Take a look at our inspiration:

I made a pillow box to hold some heart shaped choccies (hubby LOVES choccies) and a matching card.  I took my inspirtion fro the swirly paper and the hot pink.
I used this cute digi, Vanessa and coloured her in using my promarkers.  For the pillow box I cut her out.  The dp is Basic Grey Bittersweet, and I used retro punches to make my flowers and a Martha Stewart leaf punch.  The brown organza ribbon is from my stash.

I am entering this into this week's Sketch Saturday and Craft your Days Away punch it out challenges.

And its time to show Whats on Your Workdesk Wednesday ...

So here it was firsdt thing this morning ... image ready to colour, and pillow box made.
I haven't worked today as I have had a little one at home poorly, so I got my project finished :)

And my craft shelves ... I have now got space on the window sill .. for baskets LOL!!
I have got all my ink pads out, stickles, mists etc ... hopefully I wil start using them all more now.
And here was my desk yesterday ... yes Ellie made herself at home!!!  And I did ... no crafting LOL!!!
She's gone back to school today, but Beth is now ill ... I feel like I am running a hospital!!!

A fairy and a ballerina

Ellie is on the road to recovery so that meant I got a little crafting done yesterday ... but she has been very generous with her germs so I now have her bug!!!  Hey ho!!
I love LOTV stamps, and this fairy has to be one of my favourites.  I am saving all my pennies for the January release.  I got out my distress inks for this one, not used them in ages.    The dp is Basic Green Green at Heart and I used ribbon and flowers from my stash.  The sentiment is a Cuddly Buddly one.
It fits these challenges ...
Lili of the Valley - sketch
Cute Card Thursday - Floral Frenzy
 Creative Craft challenge - recipe

My next card was a bit of a challenge!!
I coloured Tilda in using my distres inks and added some stickles.  I followed the sketch over at trully Scrumptious and decided to have a go at the optional frame as I have a Marianne Creatible frame lurking in my dies basket ... how big is that die!!!!  I had to make a card specially for it ... and still cut the dp too big, and didn't check before adding the ribbon ... so I am going to have to get an A3 sheet of cardstock to make the card blank :). The dp is Basic Grey Green at Heart, the sentiment is from LOTV and no flowers ... would hide the frame and stickles!!

I am off to see what her ladyship is doing in my craft room ... back at school tomorrow for her!!

InStyle Stamps A Day in the Life of Collection

With TWELVE days to go, InStyle Stamps thought it would be fun to showcase some of their favorite holiday projects using images from oth A Day in the Life Collection (some are digi, some are rubber). So get comfy and keepthem bookmarked - from today until Christmas you'll see some gorgeous inspiration from the designersover on the InStyle Stamps Blog.

We are starting things off today with Love Couple. This is a great image for lots of special occasions - Valentine's Day, Thanksgiving, Christmas, Hanukkah, anniversaries, and any other day that is meaningful to a couple. Or you could use it as a tag for homemade goodies.  Love Couple is available in the store as a cling rubber stamp, and quantities are limited - so order soon!!

I altered a paper bag to put some chocolate godies in for hubby ...
I used the digi version of the image and made it big enough to fit the bag.  The image was coloured using my promarkers and matted onto red cardstock.  I've lost the name of the dp, but it is gorgeous, with a lovely, strokeable sheen to it!  I added some dark green raffia and grosgrain ribbon, and a ponisettia created using a Marianne Creatible die set.
I was a little nervous before i started colouring this up, so much detail ... but it was a pleasure to colour.

And if you visit the InStyles blog everyday until Christmas and comment you may be in with a chance of winnig a prize.  We will draw a random commenter from all the people that comment every day, on every 12 Days in the Life post, from now through December 24th. The 25th (Christmas Day) will be a recap post, and you will have until December 27th at 3:00 PM EST to comment on all of the posts. We'll draw a random winner and post it on the 28th. One lucky commenter will win a $25 goodie bag from InStyle Stamps! Remember - you have to comment on ALL of the posts to be eligible!

And finally .. I am entering this project into these challenges:
Stampavie and More - Christmas
Creative Inspirations - Anything Christmas Goes
Allsorts Challenge - Last Minute Christmas
Charisma Cardz - Christmas gift
Stamp Something - digi day

Magical Monday

Itstime for another Magical Monday and the theme this week is Fairytale Christmas.  You can use an image for your creation as long as it has a magical/mythical image on it ... Tilda with wings counts.
I used onr og my Sweet Peas that I got from teamie Lacey's store.  I coloured it using my pens and then cut her out, including ickle bits.  I distressed some cardstock using Airondronick inks and distress inks. I layered some green organza ribbon and red satin ribbon.   The berries are glossed with glossy accents and I added some adhesive gems to finish.

I am entering this into these challenges:
Stamp with Fun - Christmas
A Spoonfull of Sugar - Christmas card
I love Promarker - Christmas song/carol (The Holly and the ivy)
Stampavie and More - Christmas
Creative Inspirations - Anything Christmas Goes
Allsorts Challenge - Last Minute Christmas

I haven't done any crafting or blogging for a few days ... I have had both girlies poorly, one after the other, so I have been busy nursing them.  Hopefully crafting will resume this morning ... hopefully :)

InStyle Stamps December Colour Challenge

This month InStyle Stamps is embracing the cold weather and going with a nice cool color palette to challenge you with. Shades of purple, silver, and white plus a little bit if sparkle....so elegant! Take a look at our color inspiration photo:

Here's my project ...

I made a tag for a scarf I have made for my Gran for Christmas.  I used a fab digi image Jana, how warm does she look!!!  I coloured her in using my promarkers (colours at the bottom), and then cut her out, before glamour dusting her fur.  She is matted onto white cardstock embossed using a CB snowflakes folder.  The tag is made using a Marianne Creatible die, and the dp is MME, with gorgeous sparkly dots on it.
I surprised myself and managed to knit the scarft with very few mistakes and undoing involved.  My Gran will be proud of me as she taught me to knit many, many many moons ago LOL!!

As it is a tag for a Christmas pressie I am going to be cheeky and put it in for these challenges ...
Papertake Weekly - red and green must not be seen
Simon Says Stamp - Christmas but no red or green
Creative Card Crew - Anything Goes
Passion For Promarkers - anything goes

Paperplay - Monochrome

I used Pammy's Stocking by Mo Manning, and coloured her using my pens.  I cut her out using my nestirs.  I can't remember what the dp is ... I have cut the label off!!  I added some adhesive gems and a sentiment.

I will be back later with my sample for Instyle Stamps .. and hopefully a pic of my desk.

Monochrome

Just a quick post from me and a couple of cards to share.  I am trying to get organised running up to Christmas ... its not happening LOL!!   Only 1 more Christmas card and one Christmas project to see from me ... coming up soon!!

I do love my Kenny Ks ... they are such fun to colour, although monochrome might have given me a litle challenge!
This was Novembers Freebie ... Hollaback girl.  I coloured using my copics and cut her out.  the dp is all K and Co I think .. .lsot the front cover of the pad.  I layered some ribbon and added a Prima flower with a jewel brad in the centre to finish.  I used my WOJ pennant die cut for the sentiment.
I am entering it into this week's
Kenny K Krafty Girlz challenge - monochrome
Totally Gorguss - sketch
Paperplay- monochrome

Another monochrome card and a fab sketch.
I used my new Stempelglede Magic stamp and layered it onto black cardstock and some black and white dp (no name again!!).  I added some satin ribbon and that its ... a really CAS card.  It fits these challenges:
Charisma Cardz - sketch and verse stamp
 Paperplay - monochrome
