laser cuts and WoW!!

I love these gorgeous laser cuts from Kobie's Hobbycutz shop - they are really good quality mdf laser cuts, and they smell gorgeous when they arrive (if you like the smell of wood, which I do!!).  You can stain or paint them as well as just use them as they come.  I sprayed the dotty flower with distress ink reinker and left it to dry.  The cardstock was embossed and I cut the banner out and layered it up.  The doily was scrunched to make it smaller and more posy like, and then I added the laser cut, and a pearl to its centre.  I added lace, ribbon, a bow and the cute laser cut butterfly, which I added pearls to.

I love Katie, she looks so happy with all those butterflies round her - and would be perfect for this month's Spring challenge.  I coloured her with my pens, and paper pieced the butterflies. I added some flowers I was sent form a lovely crafting friend, a gem swirl and some lace and organza ribbon.  I wouldn't normally mix gems and pearls on a card - but the poorly 8 year old insisted!!!

For my second card I carried on with the butterfly theme and used the Large Butterfly.  I stamped it twice and cut it out.  I went for a WoW card, simply embossing the layers, distressing the edges of the cardstock, adding some ribbon and pearls, and then adding one of the butterflies.  I then coloured up the second one using my pens, curled the wings and placed it on top of the first, adding pearls to its centre.  Finally I stamped the Butterfly Sentiment.

Reach for the Stars

Bit of a mad panic going on - off to Whitby today to meet up with the family and friends for Dave's birthday.  We're ssing the brother-in-law, who has also had a birthday and I have lost his card!!!  SO in a mad panic I have knocked one up this morning - colouring not what I would really like, and I didn't have time to search for papers - so a grubby WoW was in order!!!
The image is a LOTV one, I embossed the cardstock with a gears folder and then distressed everything with vintage photo ink.  I cut the stars out using my nesties, and wrote part of the sentiment and stamped the rest using an alphabet set i have (really don't like the r!!).  Finally some hessian lace to add a bit of texture ... done, just in time to get the girls and go!!

CRAFT GDT challenge

This is my final week as GDT for the CRAFT challenge, and the theme is make your own embellishments.

Now I have always had a bit of a soft spot for Little Cotton Rabbits, and own Albie and Winifred, and my younger sdaughter adores Winifred particularly, often stamping her up and colouring her in, before sticking her all over her bedroom!!  So I treated her to the full set of Little Cotton Rabbits ... and got Ballerina.  We had a colouring session at the weekend, me, Beth and the wee bunnies - I coloured Ballerina very much to Beth's specifications ... not what I would have chosen!! As the colours really don't match any papers I have, we have gone for WoW for this card - I say we as Beth 'helped' me with the embossing - she does love my CB!!! Having embossed the cardstock, we distressed it and created 'snow' all over my desk ... perphaps more snow than was really necessary!!!!  I cut the roses out of felt using a Marianne Creatible die, rolled them and added flat pearls.  Beth wanted butterflies (???) so she puched some out and we added a pearl to one of them.  Finallt some foliage, ribbon, viva decor pen pearls and some more flat backed pearls, and a LOTV sentiment and we were done.

Whilst Beth is an eager bunny on the colouring and creating front, she is rubbish at tidying, so it took me a while to get myself all straightened out!!

Sugar Bowl - sketch
Creative Stamp friends - new stamp
Crafty Boots - children's stories (velveteen rabbit)

Butterfly and heart

I like a bit of white, and a bit of embossing ... and Erika has gor me all inspired with white, kraft and red ... and I needed a birthday card, so this is what I came up with LOL!!
The heart has been cut out of grungeboard, painted with red acrylic paint and covered with rock candy crackle paint.  I embossed the white cardstock and added red and kraft coloured ribbon before popping the Spellbinders Doilly on on 3d pads.  I wrapped some twine round the heart, added a Heartflet Creation butterfly, embossed with a script folder, and a button with twine tidied through it.  Finally I added the Craftwork sentiment.

A Silver Anniversary card

We went to a very posh Silver Wedding Anniversary do on Saturday night - so posh I had to wear a frock (only the 2nd time this year!!!) and of course a card was needed, and I was a little last minute dot com!!!!
So I went for a simple WOW card - embossing the cardsstock with a sizzix hearts folder and a vine leaves folder, leaving a scored section for the organza ribbon.  I added a mat embossed in a Provocraft hearts folder and then 2 Marianne Creatible die cut hearts in glittery silver cardstock.  Finally a double bow, some pearls and the stamped sentiment.  Very quick and easy!!

And here is me and hubby all dressed up ...
