Fragile Beauty

Sorry about the photo ... it is a lovely day here, but trying to find a place where the colours show prefectly has been a nightmare!
it covers these challenges:
Simon Says Stamp - sketch
Cute Card Thursday - Celebrations (I chose birthday)
Creative Inspiration - charms
Charisma Cardz - butterflies
I have not used this little beauty for ages, and I think it is prefect for a challenge using butterflies. I coloured her with my pens and used my nesties to shape her and the mat. I added some green ric-rac, some layered flowers with a charm and some pink gems. The sentiment is FF Pink Parfait.

Ellie spent last night throwing up so she has been at home today ... and whilst she has caught up on her sleep today I am shattered and in need of a sleep, so limited blog hopping tonight for me!!!

Wendy from the Secret Crafter has go some really exciting news ... but I can't tell you yet!! You need to pop over to the Secret Crafter Saturday Challenge on Saturday to find out ... oh and pop on here too! I am so excited and can't wait for Saturday!!

Dutchdare Card Challenge #73

This week's challenge is a colour inspiration.

And here is my card.
I coloured my image using promarkers and then matted her onto black and pink cardstock. I have kept the layout quite simple, and added some black satin ribbon, and a crotcheted pink flower attached with a large black brad.

Do take a peek at the other DT's gorgeous creations.

ABC Christmas Challenge .. F

We are up to F and this week we want to see Frosty cards with Lols choice of extra .. snow! we are sponsored by Simon Says Stamp and they are offering a $ spending spree to one lucky person.

And here is my frosty, snowy card.
I used this gorgeous PB snowman and watercoloured him before adding a good smattering of icicle stickles. I matted him onto red and blue cardstock. The dp, created by Martine, and available for free on her blog, is matted onto red and blue cardstock. I was going to add some embellies, but decided against it ... the dp is so gorgeous I didn't want to hide any of it.
Do check out the other DT's gorgeouys creations and have a go yourself ... we have a Guest DT spot up for grabs.

Super Ryan

It seems ages since i made a card ..but its actually only a few days!! This fab stamp arived this morning (thank you Lacey!) and I just had to ink him up!!
The card fits a few challenges -

Wags 'n' Whiskers - tags/bookmarks
Papertake Weekly Challenge - sketch
A Spoonfull of Sugar - Recycle

I coloured Ryan in and matted him onto brown cardstock. I used these fab Archiac papers ... the dinos seemed a bit superhero-ish, and I also struggle to use this sheet. I added tags ties with raffia from a bunch of flowers I recently got, and wrote my own sentiment. I wrapped the raffia round the dp as well. Finally a button to finish it.

I'm off to make a chilli and hopeully will find my way into my craft room later on. I am going to do some serious catching up on the blog hopping front too!!

Just Cute Bears Challenge week 7

This week's challenge is to make a Mother's Day card. We are sponsored by Cuddly Buddly Crafts and they are offering this fab prize to one lucky person.

I made an easel card using this gorgeous bear stamp. I watercoloured the image and matted it using my nesties. The papers are some very neglected Papermania ones .. I really do need to use up what I have so I have room for more! I used raffia and cut some flowers out of the dp to make the flowers.
Here's a closer look at the standy up bit (Beth's terminology not mine!!)
Just hope Mum likes it ... it might just be a bit bright and busy for her!!!

A tent card

I have made one of my closest friend's, and the girls' Godmother her birthday card. I thought I would do something different and have a go at the tent card on the Just Magnolia challenge. It was easier than I thought to make!

So this card covers these challenges:
Just Magnolia - tent card
Friday Sketcher - sketch (it is there honest)
Simon Says Stamp - Mothers' Day/girly (I went for girly)
One stop Craft - Sew Simple (faux stitching)
Basic Grey Challenge - photo inspiration

I used promarkers, copics and some paper piecing (this Week's ABC Challenge challenge) to colour Tilda, and cut her out. I used the Friday Sketcher sketch to decorate the inside of the card, replacing the image with dp. I faux stitched round the edge of the front of the ard and the aperature. I hung Tilda from the aperature and added flowers and pearls.
Here is the inside ... that is the sketch!!
We have friends staying so we took the girls out on their bikes nad to the park, and going to have a yummy tea and some wine tonight!!

Secret Crafter Saturday Challange #73

This week's Secret Crafter's challenge has been set by Gina and it is black, white and shades of grey.

I coloured the image in using promarkers (available from The Secret Crafter) and cut it out using my nesties. The papers are from a very neglected pad, and the flower was orginally white ... I dyed it using my black promarker pen. The ribbon and braid is from my stash.
Do take time to look at the other DT's amazing creations.

Finally a card

I haven't done any crafting this week thanks to an incident with the cat and the stairs, which involved a fair bit of pain on my part ... the cat is fine ... if a little contrite! I finally got back into my craft room last night and aftersome hufffing and puffing and a lot of ouching I made a card to cover a few challenges:
Papertake Weekly Challenge - buttons, bows, brads and bling
Creative Card Crew - Celebrations
Simon Says Stamp - Mothers Day/girly
Cute Card Thursday - Lucky Green
Creative Inspirations - Lace, pearls and pins (no pins as I little fingers who like to help themselves to my stash ... so pins not safe)
Stampavie and More - Spring
Totally Papercrafts - Mother's Day/Special lady
Stamp Something - Something girly
Stampin'for the weekend - Monochromatic (I think its pretty monochromatic!!)

I have made this card for my Mum ... not her Mothering Sunday card ... but her birthday card as her birthday is in early April.
I used my pens to colour Tilda and then matted her onto green and cream cardstock. I decided to go with just 1 dp and keep the layout simple. I threaded the ribbon through the raffia lace and added a bow with a button at the centre. I added some pearls and gems (not a lot of bling, but a bit!!) and a couple brads to the image for detail .. .and thats pretty much it.

We have friends' coming for the weekend and then I am working full time all next week so very little crafting time on the horizon :(, and little time for blogging ... I have been a terrible blogger this week ... but hopefully will catch up with you all soon.

ABC Challenge ... P is for

Paper Piecing.

For this challenge we would like to see some paper piecing on your project.

Paper piecing is a really easy technique to do -
1. Stamp you image out as normal and colour the hair, skin, but not any clothes you want to add in design paper.
2. stamp your image onto design paper and cut out the clothes that you want and glue them over your stamped image.
Really easy ... and great for getting matching or co-ordinating clothes and design paper.

And for this challenge we are sponsored by Digital Stamp Oasis, who are offering 3 digis of your choice.

And here is my card.
I stamped and paper pieced Bumble Bee and coloured the image using promarkers and added stickes to the wings and dress. I cut a large flower in half and placed under the image. I added raffia lace and stickled round the papers.

The other DT members have come up with some stuning cards ... do have a look at their creations.

Sketch and Stash #30

We are up to week 30 and this week's sketch has been created by Lols... I really enjoyed working with this one.

We are also being sponsored by Digital Delights and Cute Daisy May this week ... so 2 chances to win something!!
I used this gorgeous CDM image for my first card. The image is coloured using copics nad promarkers. The papers are MME Bloom and Grow. I added some ribbon and lace from my stash. The sentiment is Penny Black and both the sentiment and image are edged in stickles.

For this card I used one of Wendy's lovely images, available from Digital Delights. I coloured the image using copics and promarkers, and added stickles to the glass to make it look really bubbly! The papers are K and Co Hopscotch, and I doodled the sentiment. On the photo the image looks skew whiff ... but it is straight in real life.

Do have a go at Lols sketch and take a peek at the other DT creations .. .they are stunners again.
