A Sugar Nellie Sunday

I've been playing with a couple of my latest Sassys' from Sugar Nellie .. and my aquamarkers.
Here is Star Dust, coloured in aquamarkers.  I used my nesties to cut her out and then distressed the edge in DI chipped sapphire, before adding ice gold stickles.  The dp is Basic Grey Vagabond, and the flowers Prima hydragenas  which I have had for ages and just not used.  I added some navy organza ribbon and some flat backed pearls to the flower centres.  I used the sketch over at Friday Sketcher for the layout.

Here's my second Sassy ...Fabulous Darling.  I coloured her again using aquamarkers and then used my nesties to cut her and the mat out.  I ined the edges in cerise and starlight black inks and then stickled the edges.  I also stickled her leggings, bow and top of her dress.  The hair is pink thanks to me asking one of the girls what colour the hair should be.  The dp is BG Black tie and I used a Martha Stewart punch and some black velour ribbon.  I punched flowers and added black pearls.

Finally here is a CHristmas card using one of the Home Grown Mangas, Gingerbread.  This was my first attempt at colouring using aquamarkers .... I have got better I think!!  I used BG Figgy pudding and some red ribbon, and stickled the image.  This is for this week's FB Sundays for Santa challenge, gingerbread.

Starting School

I have thought hard about this and have come up with this card to combine the Simon Says Stamp School Days challenge and the Cute Card Thursday New Beginnings challenge. My baby (well the older baby!!) starts school next Thursday and I had intrended on doing a scrap page, but then thought a card would be nice for her to have. I have searched my stamp collection, and to b e honest this is the nearest to a school image I come ... but I have used the school uniform colours so I hope it counts!
I love this Manga girl's attitude ... so like Ellie. I coloured her using promarkers and the uniform Ellie will wear is blue, grey and gold. I used coredinations cardstock and cut the mats using my nesties. Two are embossed in the Morrocan embossing folder and the other 2 using the writing folder. I took a huge deep breathe and cut into my Bo Bunny ribbon (it is only for stroking!!) and then added a Prima flower which I coloured using a promarker so it matched.

We are off to York for the weekend ... hopefully it won't be too wet, then up to see the grandparents before the big day!! I just need to sew all her name labels in her clothes (yawn!!!).
Have a great weekend what ever you are doing.

Lots of Challenges!

So busy looking after children at the mo ... I love the summer holidays - really pays for the crafting!!
Anyway my Sugar Nellie Mangas arrived today (couldn't decide which 2 so bought 2 ... and 2 more!!). I have madly combined challenges to get this birthday card for my cousin made ... she'll be 23 nest week!
I used the Stamp with fun sketch (a little adapted!), the Passion for Promarker colours (lime green and Rose pink), the A spoonful of Sugar Swirls (flower and punched swirl), Creative Card Crew's polka dots, Papertake's colour combo and Allsorts one of everything ... think that's all!

I coloured this gorguss image in promarkers - ice greys for the hair and boots, and then used my nesties to cut the ovals and label shape(should be a circle in the sketch!). I found cardstock that almost matched the lime green and the pinks in the dp match the rose pink, ribbon and large flower. I threaded the button with white braid and knoted it acouple of times. One punched swirl finishes it off.

I love these stamps and am going to practicse colouring them - particularly the hair!
