Sunday Sugar

I have been playing with the latest release of fabulous stamps from Sugar Nellie's Carnival of Colour release.

Here is Cherry Pip, sadly out of stock at the moment :(  Isn't he adorable with her little handbag?!  I  coloured her using my promarkers.  The dp is Pink Petticoat, I just love the gingham paper from them, and I added some flat backed pearls.

Challenges:
I love Promarkers - CAS

And this is Peek-a-Boo, again coloured using promarkers. The kitty is coloured in to look like our latest addition, Jack.  The dp is MME Alphabet Soup, and I added some ric-rac and punched flowers. I added some glossy accents onto the balloons.

Saturday's Offerings

Its Saturday, and time for another Less is More challenge .. .I think I am getting better at these ... slowly!!!  Anyway this week is One Layer week, with the additional aspect, things with legs.
I ued one of my TH dies and cut a butterfly out of the card blank, and then inked it in cranberryink.  I stamped the Lavinia butterflies and added a sentiment ... simple really, and I like the effect.

This is how I did the butterfly ...
I put  a post-it note over the card blank and die
So it looked like this after I had run it theough my CB.
And with the mask in place I inked the butterfly up.

Challenges:
Stampin for the weekend - Wings and Things
Trully Scrumptious - Things with wings
Stamp Something- butterflies and bugs
Allsorts - free and easy

And here is a card I made last night ...
This cute hAnglar is coloured in copics and promarkers.  The dp is magnolia and Pink petticoats, and the fab crocheted flowers are from my fantastic friend Jo ... I need more (hint gint!!). I added spacers and pearls to the centre, some lace and a doilly.

Cute Card Thursday - lace

I am on kitten duty today again .. .its amazing how confident he has grown in the last week!!  Into everything and very playful ... Miffy is still a bit miffed but is coming round slowly!!

Basic Grey Challenge

 This week's challenge is

 Doillies and Ribbon

I decided to do something very different for me, and used my doilly stamps from Waltzing mouse Stamps.  I stamped the doillies out using faded jeans and shabby shutters distress ink, cut out the big one and then inked the edge of it.  The dp is Basic Grey Marjolaine, and I added a brad from the same series to the centre of the doilly. I used ribbon that I dyed using the distress inks, and made a bow.  I inked the edges of the card and then added another doilly stamp into each corner.

Thisretired Sugar Nellie Maggie and Hamish image, Rockpool, seemed perfect!!  I don't really do sandy beaches, but love rockpools ... so my beach is rocky and pooly!!  I coloured the image in using my prisma pencils and the dp is Basic Grey.  As it is rather busy, I just added some ribbon and starfish charm.

WOYWW and a couple of new Sugar Nellies

Its Wednesday ... and time for a very long post ... hope you've got a cuppa!!  Wednesdays means its the ritual snoop round people's desks led by the amazing Julia.

Here was my desk last night ... (sorry the pics were taken on my i-phone as I had it to hand!!)
It was a bit messy ... a card in the creating, my new stamps from Sugar Nellie (12 of them!!), my cuppa and ipad. Miffy is missing, as well she is slightly miffed as we have a new kitten ... so she is out somewhere tormenting the rodent life!!!
I got these really useful boxes that store flat and stack ... I just had to have them, but what to put in them!!

And these are the boxes stacked with stamps, images and my tools and stuff, neater than the assorted boxes that don't stack!

And here is the completed card ...
How cute is she, this is Candy Pip from the latest Sugar Nellie release.  She is coloured using my proarkers and then i cut her out and sat her on the Magnolia bench.  The dp is Basic Grey Lucious, and I used a bright pnik felt tip from the girls' pen box to do the faux stitching.  The flowers are a mix from my stash, the ribbon was from the lovely Elaine, and the sentiment is by Craftwork Cards.

Challenges:
CRAFT challenge - gardening
A Spoonfull of Sugar - sewing
Passion for Promarkers - Tie a yellow ribbon
Sketch Saturday - sketch
Creative Craft - Pretty Blossoms

And another card I made ...
And this cutie is Snow Buddies, again from the latest Sugar Nellie release.  I coloured it using my copics and then glittered, glimmered and fluffy stuffed it.  The dp is Basic Grey Eskimo Kisses and I created the flowers using my Marianne Creatible die, and added some punched snowflakes.  The ribbon is from the aforementioned Elaine.

Challenges:
Sugar Bowl - sketch and handmade flowers
Tuesday throwdown - Christmas in July
Our Creative Corner - Christmas in july

Less is More/WMS sketch mark 2

I thought I would have another go at the Less is More Shades of Blue challenge.  I combined it with the Waltzing Mouse Stamps sketch challenge.

I used the stitching from the Off Beat pattern set and a doilly from the large doilly set.  The sentiment is from the Frame it set.  I used 3 shades of distress ink, faded jeans, broken china and Stormy skies.  I inked each element with all three colours.

I am also entering this into this week's Cupcake Craft Challenge, one layer.

Guess who's in the Simply Sassy Spotlight??

I was really honoured when Maria asked if I would be this week's Simply Sassy Spotlight ... felt a bit of pressure mind making the card mind!!!
I used one of my favourite Sassy's, Amelia.  I inked up most of her and coloured her using my distress inks.  I stamped the Prima frame round her in sepia, and then distressed it all using DIs.  The dp is Bo Bunny, which I grunged up a bit with the TH distressing tool and a lace stamp I have.  I wanted it to look like everything was in the bottom of  drawer, not placed, so everything is at angles.  The raffia lace is from my stash, and I added so chippie squared covered in dp and wrapped in twine.   stamped the TH postcard up onto some kraft paper in speia and then crumpled it, and distressed it.  The 7 Gypsies print tissue paper, TH film strip and flowers complete it.

Challenges:
Papertake Weekly - Anything Goes
Stampavie and More - more than 3 layers
Everybody-Art-Challenge - use shapes
Cute Card Thursday - technology - film strip
Creative Craft - pretty blossoms

A CAS card

I thought I would make a quick CAS card as I am short of crafting time ... new kitten 'n' all!!

I used a WMS doilly stamp and stamped it in raspberry ink on to the card blank, before masking it and using an Off Beat pattern stamp to create the threading behind the doilly.  Finally I stamped the WMS greeting in raspberry ... very quick and simple!!

Challenges:
Waltzing Mouse Stamps Sketch Challegne - sketch
Colour Create - fushia, green and white
Cupcake Craft Challenge - 1 layer
Charisma Card Callenge - ice-cream colours - I went for raspberry and apple sorbets (made by Abbott Lodge fdarm near my mum and Dad, to die for!!)
Creative Inspiration - summer - colours and looks like flowers
 Make it Monday

Less is More

This is a quick post as we brought a new kitten home yesterday, and Miffy is well ... miffed!!!  So while DH is taking older daughter off to her Beaver do I am fielding spitting and hissing!!!

This week's Less is More challenge is shades of blue, and these fab SU papers sprang to mind.  I decided to be brave and get out the ol' acetate again, so I could stamp the sentiment inside the card (SU stamp too!) .  No ribbon or fuss, these papers are lovely and don't really need adorning do they!
I am also entering it into this week's Allsorts challenge, Free and Easy.

Catch up with you later ... when hubby is fielding spits and spats!!!
