Mirror Mirror

I used Mirror Mirror by Lili of the Valley and coloured her using my promarkers nad flex markers.  I added some pearls for the necklace round her neck (I did originally use liquid pearls but they flattened out).  The white cardstock has been embossed using my Swiss dots folder, and i used Go Kreate dies to cut the image and matt out.  The gingham dp is Pink Petticoat, and i punched some swirls and aded pearls to them.  Finally a bit of organza ribbon, bow and lime button.

Challenges:

Totally Papercrafts Challenge

Wooohoooo its FRIDAY!!!!  And that means its time for another Totally Papercrafts Challenge.  This week's theme is
AUTUMN

I created the background using my distress inks and then I embossed this lovely tree onto the cardstock.  I gently rubbed some walnut stain over it to hightlight it.  Finally some stamped leaves and a sentiment ... very simple and effective!  The tree looks like it is being caught by the evening sun.

Windswept

You know when you have soooo much paper, and so little of it you actually want to cut into ... well I have decided that this is an untenable situation now in my craft room.  Even hubby has started to notice just HOW MUCH paper I have ... so i have cut into my lush Bo Bunny papers today and made a card.
I coloured this Sugar Nellie Sassy girl, Windswept, in using my promarkers and flex markers, and then cut her out.  As the dp is quite patterned, love the shadowed house and picket fence!!, I kept it all very simple.  The papers and cardstock are distressed using my TH tool, and I added some gesso to the edges and then inked over that when it was dry in blue ink.  The sentiment is from Waltzing Mouse stamps, and I added some organnza ribbon, punched butterflies and some flat backed gems.

 Challenges:
Simon Says Stamp - anything goes
I love promarkers - get distressing
Dutchdare - bingo (distressing, punches, bling)
Fab n Funky - recipe (oops missed the 3 gems - sorry there's 4!)

What's on Your Workdesk then ...???

Wednesdays ... i love them, having the chance to peek into everyone's creative spaces thanks to the lovely and talented Ms Dunnitt.  I had an inky evening ... tag and DIs ... heaven!!

I used all these inks to create a tag ... played layering orange and purple ... very Halloweeny.
I then used a Artistic Stamper grungey stamp to go round the edges of the tag, and then stamped the fence and bird from Waltzing mouse Stamps Hocus pocus set on, all using Black Soot DI.
I added a Lavinia gate ... now is this too much???

Have a fabulous Wednesday everyone ... I am off to snoop!

I made the chevrons using a Waltzing Mouse chevron stamp and made the cardstock using distress inks ... its an off cut from DT project ... all I am saying!!  I masked and stamped the sentiments and the TH plane.  I added some TH filmstrip and some black pearls.

This one of the latest releases from Sugar Nellie, Posy Pip.  I coloured her using my promarkers and flexmarkers.  The dp is from my stash, and I added some layered flowers.  I mostly followed the sketch from Swet Stampin, but left of the 3 ribbon/paper strips as that was just too much LOL!!

Clean and Simples!

We are having a busy day today ... off to visit my lovely Sweetie friend Elaine (not sure she knows what she's let herself in for!!), then over to Kirby Stephen to drop some ties off at a friends (don't ask!) and then a quick visit to a craft shop in Kendal, and then to a 60th Wedding Anniversary ... and then back home!!!!

Anyway, I have sneaked into my craft room this morning to catch up on some DT work, but I had to have a go at the Less is More sketch ...
Sorry about the wonky photo .. I though I'd be clever and use hubby's stand thingy that he uses to photograph his buses ... it really doesn't work for cards!  I wll try to edit the pic later.  Anyway while I was looking for some dp to use I came across this gorgeous velvety, flocked paper, and it just screamed to be used, so I matted it onto navy cardstock, and then stamped the SU sentiment.  Quite quick and simple really!

Totally Papercrafts Challenge

Its Friday, and we are off to listen to the harvest festival that the girls' school does in the village church.  Ellie's class are leading it this year and Ellie has quite a bit to say ... and a prayer!!
This week's Totally Papercrafts Challenge is
THANK YOU
and what with the autumnal feel in the air and the harvest festival, I have gone for rich autumn colours for my thank you.
The chippie leaves are ones i have had for ages, and I inked them up using my trust DIs, which also created the background.  The WMS doillies are stamped ddirectly onto the card, again using DIs.  I added some gingham ribbon to finish it off.  Oh and the sentiment is stamped in sepia ink, to fit with the warm autumn colours.
Our sponsor this week is...

A Secret box card

Imagine being married 60 years ... yep 60 years.  You get less for murdering someone these days!!  And imagine still being very, very much in love ... amazing!  We are off on Saturday to help Harry and Margaret celebrate their 60tyh Wedding Anniversary.  Just over a month ago we were at the 2nd grand-daughter's wedding!

Anyway I thought I would have a go at making something a bit special for them, so I have had  go at a secret box card.  Its by no means perfect, but for my 1st one it not bad ...
I used Young love from Sugar Nellie's Homegrown range, and coloured it using my promarkers and flexmarkers. The dp is DCWV Linen CLoset, it nearly borke my heart cutting into them, and I used flowers, ribbon, lace and pearls from my stash.  The corner detail was made using a Spellbinders accent and the 60 was from a CB alphabet set.
Inside I put a key which Ellie kindly painted with antique brass crackle paint for me, and added a bouquet of flowers and some ribbon (I am RUBBISH at doing flowers!!)  I added some lace, layered flowers and hearts made from a Marianne Creatible die.

The Sugar Bowl #68

Hello Sugar addicts and welcome to another Sugar Bowl challenge.

pick and mix_thumb_thumb

One lucky person, chosen at random, will win their pick of 4 Sugar Nellie stamps or if our entries reach over 100 you can choose 6 stamps!

This week;s sketch is designed by the lovely Kiki and the optional theme is autumn.
Now I wanted to use Nuts for this one ... but he has seemingly hoped off somewhere so I opted for ...
Apple of my Eye, from the latest Simply Sassy release.   She is coloured in promarkers, in a colourway I don't very often opt for, orange!!  The dp are Basic Grey Mellow, and I added some brown gingham ribbon, using the knot instead of flowers, and some Prima flowers and buttons.

WOYWW

Its Wednesday and time for a liesurely amble among the craft desks in blogland, ably led by the uber-talented Ms Dunnit.  I failed miserably at the amble last week, saw very few desks, and am a bit startled to realise it is already Wednesday again... where did the last week go, and did I miss anything!!!!

So my desk ...

I have been playing with paint again - this time to create a tag.  Hubby says the brush I use for my acrylic paint is a disgrace and it needs to go in the bin .. I pulled some of the 'hairs' out and added varish to others and scuffled them up, so now it does a really good stippling effect .. and I am happy with it!!
I cut some grungeboard hearts out using a Marieanne Creatible heart die, but I didn't shim it up so the middle bit didn't get cut out (if that makes sense!). I then covered them in TH copper crackle paint to go with the image.
Might have a few charms!!  I was looking for a heart one, and needless to say it was at the bottom of the jar!!  That got done over in TH picket fence crackle paint.  And I edged the hearts in picket fence crackle paint too.
And then changed my mind about the colour of the hearts .. .too brassy, so I painted them in gold crackle paint!!  (I love ma heat gun!!!)

And the tag finished ...
The image is Knitted with Love from Sugar Nellie and it is coloured using my promarkers.  The tag is one I made myself from kraft cardstock and the dp is MME and Basic grey Capella.  I inked all the edges with vintage photo and inked the heart doilly and lace to age them a bit.  The TH adage tickets have been given a bit of acrylic paint and a bit of a creasing.  I stamped swirls round the dp, and then added part of a SU sentiment.  In the end I only used 1 heart and having punched a hole in it I used jump rings to attach it to the lace.  The heart charm is attached using junp rings.  Oh I almost forgot, I added some copper stickle to the fairy.

and I am looking to make one of those book  box thingys (very technical!) for a friend ... if anyone can guide me to a good tutorial ...please xx

The Dark Side

I am really getting into the swing of crafting at night ...
This is Nevaeh, one of Krista Smith's digis, and I coloured her with my promarkers and flexmarkers, keeping the skin quite pale and giving her black, goth-like lips.  The dp is Basic Grey Wisteria, and I stamped the CC designs sentiment straight onto it. I stamped a Magnolia cobweb into opposite corners, before adding wooden buttons and flat backed gems and a bit of ribbon.

Challenges:
Cupcake Craft - the dark side
Dream Valley - buttons

Kate Krafty

I am having a sneaky 10 minutes at the pooter as the child I mind is sound asleep, having fallen asleep during her lunch, bless her!!
I coloured and made up the card last night ...
I love this  Kate Krafty by Krista Smith, she looks so sweet and innocent, a bit like my ickle monster Beth!!  Butter wouldn't melt LOL!!  She is coloured using my promarkers and I used my nesties to cut the circle and scalloped circle.  The dp is Basic Grey Eva, and I stitched round the edge using my machine (as hubby said I "bought it, so use it!""").  I added some organza ribbon, and some punched butterflies which have pearls at their centres.  Very simples today.

Challenges:
Addicted to Stamping - stitching
Card Cupids - anything Goes
Come and Get it - sketch
Stamp with fun - anything goes
Pink elephant - photo inspiration - I went for the colours and sewing theme

And the more stroppy version ...!!!

Sunday's Offerings

I have had a really busy Sunday, washed, ironed, washed some more, made tea, and a few cards ... just got some more ironing to do, and finish tea off and then the evening is mine!!

This is another of Krista's digi images, Nevaeh, and she is coloured using my promarkers.  The dp is Prima Marketing, and the cardstock is SU (Pacific Point and Basic black).  I cut the little heart border using my nestie accents, and added some black flat backed pearls.  A flower with a button at the centre finishes it off.

Challenges:
Dream Valley - buttons - well 1!!
Color Throwdown - Pacific point, Cherry Cobbler, basic black

This is one of Krista's Raggamuffin's - Kate Krafty, and again she is coloured using my promarkers.  The dp is DCWV Nana's Nursery, and I added a layered flower, some ribbon from my stash and a Craftwork Cards sentiment.

Challenges:
just us girls - aqua, pumpkin and kiwi
Sweet Stampin - Flowers and optional sketch

Finally I made, with the help of my younger daughter, a thank you card for the lady who is supplying our house with what is abecoming a neverending stream of courgettes and pumpkins!!  I coloured the pumpkins and basket, and then Beth added some darker brown to the basket.  I stamped the sentiment onto the cardstock and layered the image on to the mat.  Beth stuck it on the card ... so its not straight .. .not as unstraight as it could be, but nevertheless not straight!!  Ola won't mind!!!  I am trying not to mind!!!

Challenges:
Less is More - anything goes
Stamptacular Sunday - Juat Saying - use a sentiment
Clean and Simple Stamping - sketch
Crazy4 challenge - card with a pumpkin

Sprocket

What a busy day so far ... but the downstairs is looking very de-cluttered and tidy .. .shame about upstairs!!!  So as a reward I have done a little crafting ...
I love Krista Smith's Simply Sassy range at Sugar Nellie, and now Krista is selling her own digis, a little different from the Sugar Nellies, but still fabulous ... and VERY tempting ... so I had to treat myself to a couple!!  I love Amelia, and this cutie, Sprocket the Steampunk Aviator, is going to go really well with her.
I coloured the image in using my promarkers and flexmarkers, and then cut her out.  The circle and gear border are Tim Hotlz dies, and I used my trusty (but badly in need of replacing) TH distressing tool on all the papers.  I scrunched the clock and border up and then applied walnut stain to them, the image (got to be a little grubby!!) and the dp, which are Mellow by Basic Grey.  I added some netting from the bag holding my garlic, some layered flowers and a TH adage ticket.

Once the girls have finished tidying their room we are off to Toys R Us and then tea out :)  No cooking again tonight :)))
