Witchy

Its hectic here as the school holidays have started and we are busy every weekend ... and this weekend was no exception!  Crafting is well and trully on the back burner, as is blogging.

Fiona runs a weekly challenge on the Sugar Nellie Facebook page, and this week's has been funky hair, so Witch's Cauldron was a perfect choice!!  I coloured the image with my promarkers, and having tried different skin combinations, I went for green (alien like hubby said!!) and matched it with purple hair. Ellie and Beth helped with the spider's web stamping ... can you tell which are their's?? ... and then distressed the edges of the image for me.  The dp is Basic Grey and I added some raffia net lace from my stash and a layered flower.  I followed the sketch over at the Sugar Bowl.

I am off to do the ironing and contemplate what to feed hubby!!!

So kitten is on my desk .. .his favourite sleeping spot is my craft chair, and I obviously disturbed him!! He is debating what to do with my embossing brush!  The love FunkyKits Mark sent my new Sassys out to me so I had to have a play ... inked one up and masked the other onto one already released ... work in progress.

A couple of weeks' ago I showed you Ellie's glimmer misted boxes for her teachers'.  Beth has got round to doing her's and they are all dry and ready to embellish .. here is what the girls' did with them ...

 Beth's are the more minimalist!!

I will show you the gifts next week ... they are sat on hubby's craft bit ready to assemble ... he has 36 hours to get them made...!!!

Its Friday :)))))  And we are off away for a night, leaving the girls at my parents.  Dave won a trip and dinner on the North York Moors Steam railway ... well I had to go with him didn't I .. .a free 4 course meal .... something not cooked by me, it would be rude to refuse!!!

Anyway this week's Totally Papercrafts Challenge is

A new collection of images is due to be released very soon so keep your eye on their site so as not to miss out!!!!!

And I decided to do something quite different for me ... Simply Sassy Guest DT call

The Simply Sassy by Sugar Nellie blog is having a GDT call ... click the pic to go to the post for deets.

Now for those of you who follow my blog, you will know that I am a bit of a Simply Sassy fan ... just LOVE Krista's artwork and the Sugar Nellie stamps.  For the DT call you have to choose 3 Simply Sassy cards/projects that show your style ... only 3!!!  That was really, really hard!!!  Partly as I have lots more than 3 cards that I LOVE, and also as I don't really have a specific style, I do a bit of vintage, CAS, really anything that takes my fancy on a particular day.

Soooo ... here are my favourite Sassy projects  ...

Amelia has to be my favourite image .. I even have her on my bedroom wall!!

Here I stamped her twice and mounted sections onto chippie squares.

This was my Simply Sassy In the Spotlight card ... chippie square and lots of texture.

Butterflies and Pigtails is such a great image ...expecially as I have girl who would catch butterflies given half a chance!!
Here she is teamed up with stamped and glassine paper butterflies.

5th Avenue ... one VERY Sassy lady!!

Here teamed up with kraft and a bit of grunge.

Winking Student ...
Clean and simple and lots of white ... I do like white space.

And finally (I know more than 3!!  But when you own them all ...)

Artistic Godess ...
I love doing her hair wacky colours!  Again a clean and simple, lots of white card

Vintage Boutique

A quick post as I have finished the tag I was making last night (see WOYWW post below).

I coloured this Simply Sassy, Vintage Boutique, using my promarker ... the fine nibs are great for the detail on this stamp.  I distressed the edges of the image using my TH distresser and broken china, vintage pphoto and walnut stain inks.  I made the tag from Papermania kraft cardstock, and distressed the edges before stamping a Stempleglede and SU stamp around the edges.  The gears are made using a TH die and some chippy embellies I have.  I added a bit of gear work and bakers twine to the centre.  I faux stitched the tag and dp using my walnut promarker and its fine nib, and twisted some bakers twine round the dp.  Finally I added some lace and ricrac, and a photo anchor.

Challenges:
Sugar Bowl - sketch and lace
A SPoonfull of Sugar - make a tag
Try it Tuesday - steampunk
For Fun - 2 different ribbons
Tuesday Thrown down - something metallic (brad and grommet)

And here is Jack ... being errrr ... helpful!!!

Its Wednesday and time to share the desk with the blogging world, thanks to the lovely Ms Julia Dunnit.

So here is my desk as i find it this morning ...
I am in the process of making a tag .. all the elements are there .. image, papers, embellies, etc ...just need to get colouring and assembling!

Here is a pic of the latest edition to our family ... Jack the kitten.  He has found my desk ... but he is sleeping soundly on my computer chair downstairs at the mo. One of his favourite places to chill out is on the mouse mat ... usually when we need to use the pooter!!

The tag and Jack being helpful are here.

Less is more ... circles

Where has the lovely weather gone ... it is pouring down here!

This week's Less is More challenge is Circles.
I used my WMS stamps and stamped the doilly out 3 times in eggplant, purple twilight and cool peri ink.  Then I cut them out and layered them up on 3d pads.  I added some card candy to the centre.  I score a couple of lines and put some satin ribbon in between, and added more card candy (hubby's idea ... hope he's not going to get into this crafting thing!!)
