Finally a couple of cards

I haven't done any crafting for the last few days due to being ill ... I've not even linked my scheduled DT posts to challenges.  But I have got into my craft room this morning and made a couple of cards ...

I adore Kathy Hare images, and this cutie, Garden Daisy, using my promarkers.  The dp is DCWV Pocketfull of Posies, and I added lace and ribbon from my stash.  I was going to add some embellies, but she looked cluttered.

I coloured James Bear in on Tuesday!!!!  He finally gets to be on a card.   I kept it very simple, just embossing a Christmas tree and adding a few pearls.  James is coloured using my promarkers and then I stickled his hat.  Finally I coloured a white paper flowers using my pens and then I added a rose , and then some gingham ribbon.

My Mum asked me to make a girly birthday card (but with no fussy bits!!) for one of her friend's daughters ...

I used Summer from Sugar Nellie's digi stamp collection, and coloured her using my primsa pencils.  The dp was made using my WMS stamps to create the background and some Making Memories gingham.  The sentiment is stamped directly onto the card, and I added some pearls and ribbon.

Beachy

You know when you have an idea about how you want something to look, and then the finished card looks nothing like you intended it to ... well here is an example!!!!
I used this gorgeous Mo Manning image, Finna, and masked her, so I could distress the background to create the sea and sand.  Lesson no 1 ...ink from the printer smudges when DIs are applied!!  I coloured Fina in using my prismas ... lesson no 2 ... my printer ink smudges when I use sansador!!  Finally I stickled her wings .. .that worked!!  The dp is a freebie digi I have from Shabby Princess (I think).  As the iamge is quite big I just stuck to the one paper, the pattern reminds me of shells.  I added a ribbon and bow to finish it off.

Challenges:
Stamp Something - beachy colours
Totally Gorguss - Water water
Stampavie and More - Summer
Paperplay - Sparkle galore
One Stop Craft challenge - fairytales
Allsorts - photo inspiration - seaside

I stamped up this cute LOTV Christmas candle image, and then paper peiced her.  The shaped easel card was created using my Go Kreate dies.  I have kept it all very CAS, just inking the edges of the cardstock and dp in silver ink, and adding a punched snowflake and snowflake brad to hold the card up.

Hamish and Amelia

I don't seem to have made a masculine card for ages ... so here's one I made for this week's FB Sugar Nellie Challenge ...
I have a HUGE soft spot for Hamish, and really should ink him up more.  Here he is fixing his tractor.  I coloured him using distress inks and had help from the poorly child, so less shading than I would have liked!!  I used my deckled rectangles to cut him and the mat out, and inked up the edges.  The dp is Basic Grey Archaic, not used this for AGES!!!  I made the cogs and cog border using my Tim Holtz dies and added some little clock pieces to the border.

And I have managed to find the time to put the image I was experimenting with on Tuesday night onto a card ...
Here is Amelia, from the latest set of Simply Sassy's from Sugar Nellie.  I stamped her onto kraft using sepia ink and then coloured her with my prisma pencils and added some white gel pen.  The edges of the image and dp (Bo Bunny) are distressed and inked.  I used some raffia lace from my stash, a Prima flower, and a cog at its centre.  The sentiment is stamped onto the image in sepia, the stamp is one I have had ages.  Not sure stamping in sepia onto kraft works ... a bit too pale.

Challenges:
Sugar Bowl - sketch and Birthday

Colour Create - White, cream, brown +optional extra colour
Crafts and Me - anything goes + Kraft
 Tully Scrumptious - Anything Goes
C.R.A.F.T. - Happy Birthday
Cute Card Thursday - get Krafty

Bright and bold, subtle and subdued

I had to have a play last night with my Sassys set 7 ... love Mark at Funky kits for getting these out soooo fast.
If you have seen my earlier post today you will have seen that i stamped some of these images out onto kraft to see what it was like to colour on kraft ... here is Missing you ...

Doesn't she look all forlorn?  I coloured her in using distress inks, and then distressed the edges.  I made the background using distress inks, glimmer mists and kraft paper.  The hearts are cut out of off-cuts.  I added some layered gingham and some gingham ribbon to lift it a little, and punched some ickle butterflies.  Finally some flat backed gems to set off the shimmer.

CHallenges -
Simon Says Stamp - sparkle and shine
Crafts and Me - anything goes + kraft

And onto a complete contrast ...!!
I used 5th Avenue  and coloured her with my promarkers, before stickling her dress.  I kept it very simple, just using cardstock and no embossing folders (shock, horror, needed a sit down!!)  I put some dst in a sort of circle onto the white cardstock and then ruffled the red ribbon onto it.  Finally a blue bow, a charm and some card candy.

Challenges -
Passion for Promarkers - red, white and blue + a charm
Sugar Bowl - sketch (but no distressing)
Divas by Design - one for the girls

I made a tea bag baggie using my Waltzing mouse stamps ... the PicNic set.  This is the first time I have made a tea bag baggie, and I am still VERY new to WM stamps ... loving them though :)  I stamped the daisy pattern a couple of times onto the cardstock and inked the edges of the tea bag baggie.  I stamped the flowers onto another peice of cardstock and inked it.  I stamped Get Well Soon onto the baggie label and inked the edges.  Finally i closed the bag using some ribbon.

Challenges:
Waltzing mouse 2nd Birthday tea party
Charisma Cardz - Under the weather
A Spoonful of Sugar - Anything Goes
Papertake Weekly - bloom and grow
For Fun - get well card
And as it is Wednesday it is time to have a good snoop through the crafty desks in blogland, hosted by the fabulous Julia.
I recieved my set of Simply Sassys 7 from Sugar Nellie today, and had to ink them up ...

But I thought I would have a go at stamping onto kraft paper to see the effect ... in both black and sepia.

Which then led to a colouring session to find out the medium I like best ... loved the prismas with sansador, and the distress inks worked well too with a bit of patientce ... pens .. yuck!!!!!
If you want to see the finished card .. .it is here.

A couple of cards

Thank goodness blogger is working and behaving again!!  We have been away for the weekend, and me and the girls have been ladies that lunched(twice!) and afternoon tea'd with their Auntie Anne .. very pleasant.

Here are a couple of cards I made at the end of the week when blogger was being naughty and a quick one this morning while I was waiting for one of the children to arrive.
I adore these cute LOTV girls having their tea ... just like mine of Saturday!!!  I coloured them using prisma pencils, and cut them out with my nesties.  The dp is Making Memories, the dioly, flowers and eibbon all from my stash.

 Challenges:
Sketch Saturday - sketch
Lili of the Valley CHallenge - ribbons and bows
Creative Inspiration - glitz and bling
Stamp with fun - green and pink

This image is one of Sugar Nellie's Simply Adorable range and was released on Friday ... Flora, isn't she just beautiful?  I coloured her with my copics and promarkers, and again used my nesties to cut her out.  The dp is from Elaine, and it almost broke my heart to use it!  I added a layered flower and some ricrac and lace which I ruffled.
Challenges:
Cupcake Craft Challenge - in the garden (She is holding flowers and is called flora!)

ANd finally a quick card i made this morning ...
Now I know this is not perfect .. far from it in fact!!!  However I got this Fiskars stamp at the weekend and wanted to have a play with it and see what it looked like stamped up.  I stamped it straight onto the card blank with versamark and then heat embossed it using blue, yellow and red powders.  Now I did anti-static the card before I stamped on it, but I have noticed that the blue and red powders have slightly stained the card ...hmmmm not sure why ... oh and the cat just had to stick her noses in the powder as it went on the card!!    So the result is ... love the stamp ..shame its a but smudged and stained!!

Challenge - Less is more - I layer, embossing

Iused papers from the Marrakech and Life of the Party collections.  The image is Bella Bunting from Sugar Nellie, and I coloured her with my prisma pencils.  The papers are matted onto  kraft paper, and are distressed using my Tim Holtz tool.  I used my Whimsy bunting die to cut the bunting.  I added card candy, and the sentiment is part of an Inkadinkado stamp.

Sweet Sassys meet Waltzing mouse stamps

OK, I confess to having a slight, only slight mind, obsession with Sugar Nellie's Simply Sassy range (set 7 ordered :)))))), and the only person i can blame for that is me.   HOWEVER, the obsession I might be getting over Waltzing mouse stamps is not of my doing ... step forward Mrs W and be confess!!!  Ali's creations with these stamps and a little indulgent look at them has persauded me I need them ... so I now own 4 sets (don't do anything by halves me!!!)

So while Blogger has been naughty and lost posts, comments and other things over the last day or so ... I have played ...
Here is Hippy Chick, coloured using my promarkers, and then distressed in disctress inks.  The Waltzing mouse Doilies set was the first to be inked up, and I again used my DIs.  Love these doilies.  Finally I distressed the edges of the card and added some layered ribbon a bow and a button.

Challenges -
I love Promarkers - pink and brown
Fab n Funky - buttons and bows

Here is Butterflies and pigtails, again coloured using my pens, a mixture of promarkers and copics this time.
The edges are distressed using liquid chalks, and I stamped the purple gingham using the gingham set.  I embossed the top and bottom of my card using my D'vine swirls folder and finally added soe gingham ribbon ... very CAS.

What to use now me wonders!!!

Krista, the Sassy artist has some fab candy on offer .. you can read about it here.

Totally Papercrafts challenge

Its my first time to set a challenge over at Totally Papercrafts Challenge ... and this week's challenge is Anniversaries.   We are sponsored by

I used this fab Penny Black stamp, Squeeze me til I squeak, and coloured it using my Prisma pencils.  The dp is from NitWits and I matted everything onto kraft, and distressed the edges of the papers.  I added a PB sentiment stamped onto kraft, some lace, a heart doilly that I distressed using tea dy distress ink.  I finally added some flowers.

Challenges:
Penny Black Saturday Challenge -distressing
