Windswept

We have had a busy morning tidying and cleaning ... sent hubby out to buy some more storage units for the girls' toys.
I did find some time to ink up and colour one of my new Sugar Nellie Simply Sassy's - windswept.
I coloured the image using my promarkers, and then distressed the edges in milled lavender and stamped the swirl in dusty concorde.  The edges of all the cardstock and dp is brushed in starlight black ink, and the white cardstock is embossed using my D'vine swirls folder.  I added some gorgeous lace from my lovely blogging buddy Ali, (thank you sweetie, it broke my heart to cut it!!!), some ribbon, a bow, and a flower with a button centre.

It fits these challenges:
I Love Promarkers - lavender and lace
Everybody-Art-Challenge - Favourite things - Sugar Nellie Simply Sassy stamps, my promarkers, crafting!!
Creative Inspirations - buttons and bows
Friday Sketcher - sketch
Totally Gorguss - As you like it

And being brave having seen everyone else's entries, a final go at the Simply Sassy GDT call.

InStyle Stamps Blog Hop

Its time for another InStyle Stamps blog hop.  The theme this month is Valentine's, and there is a $25goodie bag up for 1 lucky person who votes for their favourite project on the InStyle Stamps blog.  If you are following the hop you should have arrived here from Kristine, if you have arrived here from elsewhere and want to join in the hop you need to go back to the InStyle Stamps blog.

Here is my project ....

I used the gorgeous Valentine Ava ...

I made a little gift bag and matching card.
The gift bag was made using red cardstock .. Taylor posted a similar bag on the InStyle Stamps blog, you can find it here.  Mine has open sides that I pinch in.  I used a Martha Stewart punch for the scalloped edge.
Ava is coloured using copics and then cut out, and her wings stickled.  I used a Marianne Creatible die to cut the circles out, and drew a heart, covered it in glitter glue and then glossy accents and cut it out.  I punched a couple of holes to make it look like a button.

I used  Valentine Ava for the card, just making her a bit bigger.  I coloured her in using the same pens.  I embossed the cardstock using my CB hearts folder and made the large heart in the same way as the one on the box, but used crackle accents rather than glossy accents.  I added some ribbon to the card and the heart, and a sentiment.

Now you need to keep hopping, so you need to go to Sandie's blog to see her fabulous creation.

And it fits these challenges:
A Spoonfull of Sugar - Valentine
My Time to Craft - emboss, emboss, emboss
Fab n Funky Challenge - delight in your digi
CHarisma Cardz - Valentine/love

Recipe:
Stamp(s):  Valentine Ava
Colouring Media: Promarkers (sunkissed pink, blush, ivory, burgundy, cardinal red, ruby, vanilla, walnut, chestnut, cocoa, cinnamon)
Papers: none
Embellishments: from stash

Frilly frills!!

Just a quick post from me tonight ...
I made this card this morning in a crafting session with Beth.  She asked about the TH distressing tool I have, and then distressed all the papers for me ... she loves it!!

I coloured the SN Simply Sassy image in using my distress inks ... I do find that skirt challenging LOL!!!  I embossed some white cardstock, and Beth distressed it all and then helped ink it all up.  I lavender ribbon and a heart doily finishes it off.

I used the sketch from the Sugar Bowl ... and the other challegnes I will add later, when i find the list!!!

Found it!!
A Spoonfull of Sugar - Valentine
My Time to Craft - emboss, emboss, emboss
CHarisma Cardz - Valentine/love

We have had a busy afternoon ....
Beth went in to have grommets fitted as her hearing is rubbish and she is constantly having infections.
Here she is after her op ...  the knittedc bunny is from Gayle ... it is now called Lily :)
And here are her cards ....
(Gayle, Debby, Pops, Lorraine, Linda, Jan, Pippa)
 (me(!!) Ali, Ellie, sarah)

Thank you to everyone who made/sent her cards, she loved opening them and it kept her distracted during that awful waiting time.

Now I just need a good night's sleep to recover from it all!!

Valentine Chloe

I don't really do Valentine cards, but I do love Chloe, so I decided to have a go at making a vampish Valentine card using Heartful Chloe from InStyle Stamps.  I don't even have any romantic style papers .. do I really need them?!

I coloured her using my promarkers and cut her out.  I embossed some red cardstock using my CB Hearts folder, and sat Chloe on a doily heart.  Some white ribbon, a glittered and glossed heart, some gems and stickles complete the card.  She looks a bit Mortica -ish ... perhaps just too cute a face :)

A couple of cards

Its taken me a couple of days to get these cards finished ... life is one long roller coaster here at the mo ... and we are now onto geting Beth prepared for hospital on thursday.

I love Sugar Nellie's Simply Sassy range ... Hippy Chick is a definite favourite.
I watercoloured her using my distress inks.  I spritzed round her using hydrangea glimmer mists.  The sketch is from Friday Sketchers, and I used doliys for the circle elements.  The outer one is spritzed in Dusty Concorde distress ink and then hydrangea glimmer mists.  The dp is Basic Grey Koishi, and the ribbon and flowers are from my stash.  I am entering it into this week's Basic Grey CHallenge, flowers, and also the Simply Sassy Guest DT call ... if I don't try I'll never know LOL!!

Now this card id for hubby for Valentine's day ...
I love these latest LOTV images, and just had to have this one.  I coloured it using my Promarkers, and then followed the sketch from this week's Lili of the Valley challegne.  The white cardstock is embossed wusing my hearts folder.  I made the heart by covering one I drew in glitter paint (3 layers) and once it was dry using crackle accents to get the crackle effect.  The button hole feature was punched when I drew it.
Here is a close up of the heart ... I am quite please with it :)
The card also fits these challenges:

InStyle Stamps Inspiration challenge and WOYWW

Here is my desk today .. far too tidy and un-busy for my liking!!!  My new magnolias arrived this morning, so I need to ink them up, and there are some images ready to colour ... Gracie from InStyle Stamps is there along with a LOTV fairy and a Stempleglede image.   No sign of the cat in the craft room today .. she was far to busy murdering mice this morning LOL!!!

Its time for the monthly inspiration challenge over at InStyle Stamps blog ... this is what it says ...
Ready for a very tasty bit of inspiration? We've got it for you today! This is a beautiful table full of delightful treats. The picture lends itself well to all sorts of inspiration...shapes, colors, trees, white space. Let's take a look!

Its time for another ABC challenge, and we have some exciting news ... from the next challenge we are going weekly!!!! We will also be reintroducing the top 5 and have a new banner which anyone whom has won before but not received can use.

The theme is M for Magical and we are sponsored by

Now there is a sketch this week as well but it is optional.

And here is my card... something a bit different for me.

I brayered the background and then used my Lavinia stamps to create the fairy scene.  The ickle stars are stickled, as are the fairies wings.  The dp is Basic Grey Marjoliane, and I used a Martha Stewart punch to create the scalloped edge.  The ribbon is from my stash.

Blue and Green Joy

I have been having a play again this morning with Joy ... I decided to print her out onto watercolour paper and then colour her using distress inks.  Heather has a great tutorial on this, and it really works :)
These Simply Adorables are so lovely to colour, and to be honest i lost track of time colouring her in!!  I started off with a simple layout, but then decided to add the flowers as I am sending it to my Great Auntie who is finally out of hospital after a major heart attack.  So she would like the flowers ...I like them to touch and have in my stash, but feel uncomfortable with them on cards ... too fussy i think for me!  I am entering this card into this week's Wild Orchid Crafts challenge, Get Sentimental.

Now for something much more me ... my lovely blogging friend Ali has encouraged me to blog my CAS cards ... alot of the cards I put on my blog are what I think people blog, whereas what i enjoy making are much simper ...
So here is Joy again, watercoloured ann cut out using my nesties.  I scored the white cardstock using my Martha Stewart board ... simples!!

Both cards qualify for this week's A Spoonfull of Sugar green and blue colour combo.

Little Light of Mine

I had a disastrous afternoon yesterday ... sat down to colour some images in for some DT work I wanted to get done ... ohhh the mess!!! Between bleeding inks and a cat with muddy paw prints there was nothing to show for it!!!
Except this .. I finally resorted to distress inks and a play, and the cat curled up and went to sleep!!!!

I coloured this ickle cuties in my distress inks and then faux stitched round the outside of the image in a starlight gel pen.  I kept the layout very simple, just embossing the background with my Swiss dots folder and added a corner of dp, oh and some ribbon.  I haven't added a sentiment, not really into sentiments!!  But I think I will probably give this to one of my friend's for her birthday ... think its OK for a birthday card :)

Challenges -
Basic Grey - Spots and Dots
Totally Papercrafts - Happy Birthday
Pollycraft Challenge - sweet pastel colours
Stamp Something - Anything Goes

A couple of cards

After spending the day on a first aid course yesterday I spent the evening colouring images, and I made the cards up this morning.

My first card uses the Friday Sketcher sketch, and the My favourite things theme from Just magnolia.
I got this Tilda with a Simon Says win, so I haven't had her very long, but she shows my favourite things .. surprises (nice ones!!) and presents :)  I coloured her using my distress inks and used my nesties to layer her.  The dp is Eskimo Kisses, not sure if I like this pad .. still got an almost full one after 2 Christmases!!  I added some gingham ribbon and a sentiment.

I have also been playing with my Simply Sassy  Sugar Nellie stamps ...

I adore Hippy Chick, she looks so serene, and is a dream to colour.  As my distress inks were out I decided to colour her using them.  I have kept the layout simple, using some BG Marjoliane and an embossed panel (Moroccan screen) and just a little ribbon and some teeny pearls.  I am going to enter this into the Simply Sassy GDT call.
