A couple of cards

I am still struggling to craft .. .I cannot believe how much you use your thumb, and how much of a hindrance having a huge dressing on it can be!!!

Anyway I have a couple of cards to show you ... on made late last week and only just hitting the pooter!!, and the other finished today after much cursing!!!

I made3 this one last week using the Trully Scrumptious sketch and Think pink theme, and it also fits these challenges:
Stampavie and more hearts theme
Kenny K's Krafty Girlz  - Think pink
Allsorts Challenge - monochrome
a Spoonfull of Sugar's recipe challenge
Charisma Girlz - One for the girlz
Passion For Promarkers Old and New
I coloured  Miss Thang in using my pink promarkers and then cut her out.  That's my new bit.  The old bit is the dp ... Basic Grey Bittersweet.  I followed the sketch and added heart buttons, a sentiment and some pink gems.

My next card uses one of my all time favourite Christmas stamps ... how cute are these meeces!!!  I coloured the image in last week, but haven't got round to getting it onto a card ... I love this week's Papertake Weekly sketch so it inspired me to wrestle with the dst and get it finished ... dst like mircopore tape!!!!
I coloured the image using my promarkers and then followed the sketch over at Papertake Weekly.  I used one peice of Basic Grey Figgy Pudding and layered it, with black cardstock.  The ribbon is black velevet and the sentiment is a House Mouse one.
I stamped a house mouse candle on the envelope and coloured it to match.  Like the look of the envelope so I can see a theme of decorated envelopes appearing LOL!!  This card fits these challenges
House Mouse and Friends - envelope art
My Partner in Crafting Crime - black, white + 1
Cupcake Craft challenge - light it up

I am now going to sweep the frozen snow off the drive before we get more of the white stuff!

Magical Monday

This week's Magical Monday theme is Wings.  Oh which image to choose from, was the only question I had, having rather alot of winged images in my 'small' stamp collection.

I finally chose this set of 5 Mo Manning Fairies and made Ellie her birthday card ... I decided to do a paper bag one as i haven't done one of these for ages.

I tried to sequence the fairies so it looked like it was one doing a dance ... so we have the leap ...
 the jump and cartwheel

Oh and behind the images I slotted photos of my little balliernia ... she was only 2 then!!
Onto the back, we have the landing ...
And finally the tag inside has the pirouette to finish!!
All the images were coloured using my promarkers and blender pen.  I sticked the bottom of the dress, the wings and star, and round the edge of the image.  The dp is My minds Eye, the tickets are from Whimsy stamps and Tim Holtz, and the pendants are a WOJ die.  All the ribbon and flowers are from my stash.

Mo is currently doing a design team call and I would love to be part of her Dream Team ... so I am going to give it  go and enter.

This card also fits these challenges:
Charisma Cardz - One for the Girls
I Love Promarkers - anything goes + sparkle

Another couple of Christmas cards

You can find my InStyle Stamps blog hop post here.

I am hoping these are going to be some of the last Christmas cards (apart from some I have to blog as DT cards!) I hve to make.  Having sliced into the top of my thumb, crafting is a little clumsy and painful so not very fussy cards .. .well not VERY fussy!!!

I matted Tilda onto a hAnglar garland stamp and then coloured it in.  I wasn't planning on cutting the images out but the purples bled out as I mixed them :(.  I followed the Just Magnolia sketch, I love the simple layout. The dp is Basic Grey Eskimo Kisses.  I added some ribbon, spray pearsl, flat backed pearls and flowers to complete it.  I am not totally sure I like it!!  Too ... err not sure, busy?
I am also entering it into this week's Basic Grey recipe challenge, Fuss and fancy's Christmas without red and Green challenge,  and Charisma Cardz One for the girls challenge.

I adore LOTV images and this little boy looks engrossed in decorating his tree!  I him in using my pens and then followed the sketch over at Lili of the Valley.  The dp is Basic Grey Jovial, and I added raffia rather than the scalloped detail.    As there are stars it also fits the Paperplay stars challenge, and it fits the Totally Gorguss Christmas Trees theme.

Ellie has had er birthday party this afternoon with Ewan, who was born on the daty she should have been LOL!!  2 very tired little girls now tucked up in bed, and hubby is cooking my tea :)  He's not letting me near knives at the mo .. .just wondering how long my thumb can be 'poorly' for :)

Let it Snow

You can find my InStyle Stamps blog hop post here.

This is a quick post before we go out ... lots to do today.  The mum of one of the minded children is opening her deli today so we are off to buy goodies, and later it is ellie's birthday party.

I have struggled getting this card done due to slicing the top of my right thumb almost off ... note to self ... sharpen knives by all means but be warned theat they then will be SHARP!!!!

OK here is the card ... very simple by request, and NO embellies (boo hiss!!)
It is for these challenges -
Craft Your days Away - texture
Simon Says Stamp - let it Snow
One Stop Craft challenge - Christmas Cutie
Wild Rose Studio - sketch and blog hop.

Milton is coloured using my pens and then I aded glamour dust and fluffy stuff (texture).  I used just 1 sheet of dp (Basic Grey Eskimo Kisses) and matted it onto blue cardstock.  I stamped a Hero Arts sentiment to look like continuos text ribbon.

Right off out as hubby is getting fidgety waiting for me.

InStyle Stamps November Blog Hop

Its time for another InStyle Stamps blog hop.  The theme this month is holiday songs, and there is a $25goodie bag up for 1 lucky person who votes for their favourite project on the InStyle Stamps blog.  If you are following the hop you should have arrived here from Cyndi, if you have arrived her from elsewhere and want to join in the hop you need to go back to the InStyle Stamps blog.

My holiday song is Oh Christmas Tree ... it was one of my favourite hymns as a child, and I even learned it in French!!!  InStyle Stamps digi image Christmas Tree Chick is a perfect image for the song, and I decided to do another candle, but this time use tissue paper like I do when I use rubber stamps.

I thought I would show you how I did it ... hubby was convinced I would break the printer LOL!!

1. iron out some tissue paper onto A4 paper/thin card and attach with masking tape.  It should go through your printer, as long as everything is really somooth, especially the masking tape on the feeding edge.  Print your digi image out.
2. cut round it, I keep the A4 paper under it to help show the colours.

3. colour the image .. I always colour from dark to light, but on tissue paper it is better to colour light to dark as the ink is removed by the next colour ... .if you see what I mean.
So it will look like this ...

4. Put your  tissue paper image on the candle where you want, and wrap a peice of greaseproof paper around it ... this helps set the image into the candle without too much candle wax running.  Get your heat gun and in a circular motion heat the candle over and around the image.  The wax will melt slightly and the tissue paper sink into it.  You shouldn't be able to see any edges to the tissue paper.

So it should look like this ...
And here it is finished ...
I added some gold stickles to the Christmas tree, and some gems and organza ribbon to the candle.

And now you need to hope along to Patti and don't forget vote for yor favourite project.

Untraditional Christmas

Another card I have had ready toblog for a few days and not got round to it!!!  I have been really busy working ... suddenly everyone wants me to have their children so they can go Christmas shopping ... when am i supposed to go!!!!!  So no playing in the craft room for me during the day at the mo:(
I love this Mo Manning digi, Irma and Vieno, they look so happy in the snow.  I coloured the image using my promarkers and then glamour dusted and stickled it to get it all snowy and frosty.  I kept the layout simple as it is a big image (like them big, easier to colour LOL!!!).  I used some neglected MME papers and prima flowers and layered cream and blue ribbon up.

And the challenges are:
Colour Create - robin egg blue, seafoam green and cream (nearest I could get to them anyway LOL!!!)
Simon Says Stamp - let it Snow
Passion for Promarkers - old and new (Old papers and flowers, new image)
I love Promarkers - Anything Goes and Sparkle
A Spoonfull of Sugar - Anything Goes
Totally Papercrafts - untraditional Christmas

Right off to try and get warm ... its really cold here brrrrrrrrr!!

ABC Challenge

Its time for another ABC Challenge, and the theme this week is Ice and Snow.

Sadly the lovely Ali has had to step down from the team again due to changes in her personal life, we wish you all the best hun.

This week we are sponsored by Wags and Whiskers.

We have some new rules starting this week ... you can only combine our challenge with a maximum of 4 others and you can enter more than once but each time must be a different project, ie card, layout etc

I coloured this adorable image up using my pens, before stickling and glamour dusting her.  I versamarked the dp and then embossed it using snowflake embossing powder.  I added green organza ribbon and some flowers, with tulle behind.

Now I have done it am not convinced ...!

InStyle Stamps Method Monday

It my turn to do this week's InStyle Stamps Method Monday.  After lots of head scratching I decided to show you how to make a Pop up Tag card.  I made several of these last year as Chtistmas cards, and have adapted it for this tutorial so that the tag holds a little surprise.

Here's the finished product ... I used this gorgeous cheeky digi image, Kissmas Monkey as my image.
The tag card stands up in its own box ....
and the tag can hold either money or a gift card/voucher.
So this is how I made it...

 Step 1.
Cut a piece of cardstock (plain or coloured) 11cmx28cm
 Step 2.
 Score the cardstock at 2.5cm, 7cm, 9.5cm, 14cm, 18.5cm, 21.25cm and 25.5cm
 Step 3.
Decorate your cardstock, either with patterned paper, or stamp onto it.
Step 4.
On the under side and on the middle score line (14cm) make a mark 2cm in from each edge.
 Step 5.
Cut a slot between the two marks for your tag to slide into.

 Step 6.
Make your tag.
 Cut a piece of cardstock 14cm x 13 cm.
 Score at 7 cm.
Fold and smooth down along the score line.

Decorate the tag inside and out, and use nesties or circle punches to make the tag top detail. I used an eyelet to thread my cord through.

Now finish the card .

 Step 7.
Apply double sided tape on the 2.5cm scored sections.
 Step 8.
Slide the tag into the slot and check that it moves and slides backwards and forwards without any snagging.

  Step 9.

Attach the tag to one of the stripes of DST, making sure that it is centred through the slot, and that the edge lines up with the bottom.

 Step 10.
Now fold the other side in and attach to the tag so it creates a box shape.
So now it should look like this ...

You may need to re-crease the front and back top and bottom folds to make it stand absolutely perfectly.

 Step 11.
Now to add the image .. I always add it last, just in case it ends up scraped before now!!!
Colour your image ...
I cut mine out, but you can matt  it if you want.
Stick it down securely, making sure thare are no edges to catch on the slot.
 Step 12.
Finally push the box up so it slides over the tag and folds flat.

Tie it with some ribbon.

I hope this gives you the inspiration to have a go at making it ... perhaps as Christmas cards.
I am entering this into this month's BunnyZoe's Crafts challenge .. .Christmassy, anything but a card.
