Aerosmith - I Don't Wanna Miss a Thing

A bit late, but I have been away... so please forgive me!!

This week Marcea posted an Areosmith song ,Pink.  I have to confess to liking a bit of Aerosmith, and thought i would pick one of my favourites.  I love this song, shame the film it was the theme to was a tad rubbish!!!!

I have made a mental note to post something less sloppy next week!!!!

Wags n Whiskers challenge

A little late but my scheduled post didn't work, and its a quick post as I am currently in Devon visiting family .. lots of nattering and not much interneting!!!

I am guesting again this week for Wags N Whiskers, and the challenge is black and White/Sepia.  From this week you don't have to use a Wags n Whiskers stamp to play along.
I used one of my favourite stamps,Say a Prayer, and coloured Ansley in greys and glittered her wings.  I embossed the whitecardstock and added a black ribbon.  Small black gems pick out the end of swirl details.
Finally I added some white flowers.

InStyle Stamps Blog hop

It's monthly blog hop time with the InStyle Stamps team. Every month our blog hops have a theme and this month it is Giving Thanks. There is a prize for commenting and voting ... a $25 goodie bag from ISS. Check out the InStyle Stamps blog for more details, and a full list of the blog hoppers.

If you are following hop you should have arrived from Wendy ... if you haven't then you can start the blog hop from the InStyles blog.

I have decided to interprete the theme as being thankful for what we have/have had ...And as it it Breast Cancer Awareness month and several of my friends have either lost mums to this cruel disease, or have had it themeselves and had to undergo variuos degrees of treatment, I decided to decorate a candle to match the card I made earlier this month using the gorgeous Hope Flower from InStyle Stamps.  Its not in store yet ... but you can get a freebie if you have a peek here and follow the instructions.

I coloured the floer in using my pens and cut it out.  I used papers from Basic Grey's Bittersweet pad to wrap round the candle.  I added raffia lace and organza ribbon, before attaching some large tea roses and small buds round the base.
It goes really well with the card ...
This is a gift for one of my best friend's, Vicky, who tragically lost her Mum to breast cancer ...

we all have to be thankful for the moments we have, and cherish them forever ...
just for you sweetie xx

Got a couple more to make.

Now you need to hop over to Axa to see her gorgeous creation.

Kenny K Krafty Girlz Challenge - 2x2

I coloured this fab image in using my pens .. .she is so NOT me at Christmas, I hate shopping!!!  I kept the sketch simple, using just 2 dp and layering organza and gingham ribbon.  The flowers are layered with punched snowflakes and the sentiment is from Pollycrafts.

We are off down to Exeter in the morning for a few days ...so hopefully my post for Friday will work and I'll be back on Monday with a Magical Monday's card for you.

Sketch and Stash #47

We have a new DT member this week over at the Sketch and Stash.  The fabulous Squirrel and her bushy tail have joined us ... welcome hun!!

We are being sponsored by the lovely Paula over at Pollycrafts, and she is offering 1 lucky person 5 digis of their choice.
Here is the sketch ...

I decided to do a bit of therapeutic colouring, and inked up one of my latest Sweet peas, Holly Fairy, and as I liked how she turned out, here she is!!  I used my pens to colour her and then inked the edges.  The papers are a miture left over from previous years (I am no a use it up drive!!) and I added chipboard corners and pearl spray that I coloured with my pens.
The DT have done a marvellous job with the sketch again this week so do take a peek at their blogs.

Music Saves My Soul

As we are going up the M6 on a Saturday late afternoon, while Blackpool Illuminations is on this seemed so appropriate!!!!  Wish us a speedy-ish journey LOL!!

Chris Rea - The Road to Hell is my Music Saves the Soul!

A couple of Christmas cards

Last year I loved making Christmas cards, I have been less keen this year, but really do need to make a concerted effort and get some made. So I have made a couple for some challenges.
The first one is for the Lili of the Valley Winter fun challenge, and Totally Gorguss Sparkle.

I love this cute bunny, and I coloured him with my distress inks.  I added polar white flower soft for snow and his tail, and lots of stickles.  I have kept the layout simple, just adding some ribbon and card candy.

My next card uses the sketch from Friday Sketcher, the Merry and Bright theme from Wags n Whiskers, and the vintage theme from Charisma cardz - hope it is vintagey!
The stamp is called With Love and I coloured it using my pens.  The papers are distressed and I added some polar white flower soft for snow.  The flowers are from my stash as is the lace.

Sorry for the short post - I am off out to a children's party (with the girls!!) before going to see my parents for a couple of days.

No crafting .. .but I have scheduled my DT cards for the next couple of days, so hopefully Blogger will behave!!

Dandelion Chloe

I love InStyle Stamps Anime stamp, but have to confess to a very large soft spot for Chloe ... and this week see a new release with her in it.

This is Dandelion Chloe, isn't she adorabel.  I used BAsic Grey Origins papers and coloured Chloe in my copics and promarkers ... dandelions are very summer in to autumn seed clocks and my girls love blowing them as much as Chloe does.   She will be available to purchase from Friday (2nd October) as a digi image from Instyle Stamps, and you can pop over to the blog to see the rest of the releases, and 1 more (hint it might be another Chloe!).

InStyle Stamps Inspiration Challenge, Halloween and WOYWW

OK this is going to be a photo heavyt post.  Its Wednesday and time for 2 regular things in my diary - an InStyle Stamps challenge, and Whats on your Workdesk Wednesday, and I have my Design team card for the Dutch Dare challenge to share.

This week it is a photo inspiration over at InStyle Stamps blog

I chose to decorate a candle:

I used Harvest Veggies, which a digital image that you can find here, and coloured it with my promarkers.  I wound copper wire round the candle, stuck the image on and then added gems.  It has been a bit of a labour of love, as I tried acetate - pens made the ink run, a transparency - shrivelled when I tried a heat gun on it, so I stuck with a printed image!!  Obviously I am not going to light the candle LOL!!
I am entering my candel into this week's I Love Promarkers challenge Autumn.

I have also made a project using this cutie from Wags n Whiskers for this week's Dutch Dare challenge, where the theme is halloween or halloween colours.
Their theme this week is Halloween - I coloured this cute ickle fairy in pumpkin colours and use BG Eerie papers for the dp.  The sketch is from this week's Papertake Weekly challenge, slightly tweaked!!  I haven't put it on a card blank yet as I might use it on a scrap page, as I have a pic of my older fairy as a pumpkin ... what this space!!!

Finally my work desk this morning - the remnants of yesterday's playing still around, and images ready for today.  By my pen bag there is a pile of finished Christmas cards waiting for me to make card blanks - yes Anne I have done them LOL!!
Here's a closer look at those cards!

Some challenge cards

I made a couple of cards this morning to fit some challenges ... I am doing so little regular challenge crafting at the moment as I have so much on ... just keep hoping my DT cards fit the challenges LOL!!

Anyways ... here they are:-

I used Harvest Veggies by Instyle Stamps for this card.  The papers are by Basic Grey and I added a tag.   As the papers are quite busy I decided to doodle a sentiment and leave the rest unadultorated ... but of a shock to the system not to add any flowers or ribbon LOL!!!
I am entering it into this week's Friday Sketcher, Totally Papercrafts Challenge (Autumn) and Basic Grey challenges (Autumn).

And don't forget it is release week over at Instyle stamps .. .there are some fab new images to go on sale on Friday.

Another very plain card ... one of my friends wants some plain and simple Christmas cards.  Tilda is coloured using my pens and then I stickled her and cut her out.  The dp is a mixture of scraps, but some are by DCV.  I added a sentiment and some gingham ribbon.  I am entering it into the Totally Tilda challenge, red, green and traditional Tilda Christmas, and Just Magnolia.

And finally the hardest card of all for me!!
I just hope it is pink enough LOL!!    I coloured this cutie in using my promarkers and inked the edges.  The papers are DCWV and are all inked round the edges.  I layered a white and pink tinted flower with a snowflake and brad, and added some silver wire behind ... not used my wire on cards for AGES!  I am entering it into this week's Passion for Promarkers Pink and White Christmas card challenge, Totally Gorguss' pink challenge, and this week's LOTV sketch challenge.

Magical Monday

Its time for another Magical Monday Challenge, and this week the theme is Halloween.  You can interpret it how you want as long as you use a magical image on your project.
I only have a couple of images for Halloween and they are on the cute side.  So I used a sweetpea stamp, and coloured her in more Halloween/witchy colours.  The background and the raffia lace is airbrushed.  I coloured the pearls using my promarkers, and added some black and purple ribbon and a witch's hat charm.

I am entering this card into these challenges:
Stamp with Fun - Halloween
Creative Inspirations - Halloween
Fuss n Fancy - Halloween
Stamp Something - Halloween
Stampin' for the Weekend - Halloween
One Stop Craft - Halloween

InStyle Stamps support for Breast cancer Awareness Month

If you don't know October is Breast Cancer Awareness Month, and Breakthrough to Breast Cancer is a charity in the UK close to my heart.  3 of my friends lost their Mums to this terrible diease, and I have lost 1 friend to it and have 2 others in recovery from it.   So I am all in support of anything we can do to heighten awareness and supportfundraising to find a cure for this horrible disease.

Instyle stamps are actiely getting involved this month .. this is what is on their blog ...

Because we love our fans and care about cancer awareness, we are giving these images away to anyone who wants them. That's right - giving them away! To get an image for free, all you have to do is shoot us an email telling us which image you'd like and share a link to your project here within 10 days. If we don't see a project from you, you'll get an invoice from us for $2 per unused image. All of the proceeds will go to cancer charities, so either way it's a win! You are welcome to just outright purchase the images, too - let us know that in your email.

The images will be available for free until October 31st. The previews are below, and we'll have more samples to show you in the coming days.

So please pop over and have a play with these fab images.

Here's a card I have made using Hope daisy...

A Christmas card

This is just a quick post before I start work ... and its a busy busy day ahead.
I love the new Kenny K Christmas images, but have to confess to probably never using 3 of them, just a little too raunchy for my Christmsa cards ... but I had to have this one!!  I coloured her using my pens and added some card candy.  The dp is Basic Grey Jovial, I treated myself to a few 12x12 sheets (shhhhhh!!!).  I added a layered flower, some ribbon and a Craftworks sentiment.

It fits these challenges -
Kenny K's Krafty Girlz - Christmas
A Spoonfull of Sugar - Winter Wonderland (some of my friends view their Winter Wonderland as the Trafford Centre!!!)
Simon Says Stamp - 3 types of embellishments, 2 patterned papers, 1 image

Right off to get playing with the children.

Molly

InStyle Stamps is sponsoring the sketch over at Card Positioning Systems again this week! It's a really fun sketch, and if you play along you might win a $20 gift certificate to the store. Head over to the CPS blog to check out all the details.

 Here is my sample.
I used one of my favourite InStyle Stamps images, Molly.  I know you shouldn't have favourite stamps, but isn't she a cutie with all those shopping bags!!  I coloured her using my pens, and the papers are Cosmo Cricket.  I added ribbon and flowers from my stash.

I am entering this into this week's Paper Play challenge, which is a photo inspiration.  I know I haven't used cupcakes (no immages) but I have used the colours, so I hope it qualifies.

InStyle Stamps Colour Challenge

Its timne for and InStyle Stamps colour challenge ... and this is the fab colour theme this time.  Lots of rich red and orange, an a hint of calming blue.

I used 2 digi images from InStyle Stamps ... Virginia and William as they fitted the shaker sytle cupboards at the back of the photo, and the feeling of Thanksgiving.
I coloured the images using my pens and then cut them out so I could position them together.  I have no idea what the dp is but it reflects the colours well and is also complementary to the period of the costumes.  I added some raffia lace, gems and pearl spray which I coloured using my pens.  The spray replicates all the berries in the photo.
Just a quick historical, and possibly note .. .I didn't use black for William's outfit, as his outfit is from the 17th Century and black was a really expensive fabric due to the difficulty in finding dying matter to create black.

I have used a Breast Cancer Awareness digi image called Big Flower from InStyle Stamps.  Hopefully it will be in the shop soon!   A very pink card from me, but as it is Breast Cancer Awareness month we do need to be flashing the pink!   I added some white raffia, pink organza ribbon and some layered flowers.

Do check out the other DT members' cards and play along if you have the time!
