Sketch and Stash #43

Wow .. we are up to sketch 43 .. and Sue has created a fab one for us to use. We have had some sad news, Becky has decided to leave us :( We are all really sad, and hope she will consider joining us again in the future.

We are very excited to be sponspored by Meljen's Designs this fortnight and the DT were given some fabulous images to play with!!

I used Toadstool buggies for my card.

I coloured the image using my pens and then matted it onto black cardstock. The dp are matted onto black cardstock, and I added a large mulberry flower. The sentiment is a FF Pink Parfait one. Finally some card candy.

We are currently camping in a field in the middle of nowhere ... hopefully its not raining!!

InStyles Blog Hop

It's monthly blog hop time with the InStyle Stamps team. Every month our blog hops have a theme and this month it is end of Summer. There is a prize for commenting and voting ... a $25 goodie bag from ISS. Check out the InStyle Stamps blog for more details, and a full list of the blog hoppers.

If you are following hop you should have arrived from Taylor,if you haven't then you can start the blog hop from the InStyles blog.

For this hop I have made a stationary box as a gift for my Gran. You may have seen the box I made Ellie ... well it uses the same design. You can find instructions here. I chose colours to give that end of summer, slightly faded feel, and an image that hints at the end of summer flowers ... sunflowers.
I made the box up in coral cardstock and then added the dp. I used Summer Breeze on the front and added ric rac, swirls and Prima flowers.
For the inside of the box I made some little square notelets and some c5 size notelets. Oh and some small note paper. The empty holder is a for a book of stamps ... need to get them!!

So here are the notelets. The small ones use Summer Breeze and the c5 ones Flower Love and Buzz. The bees and dragonflies are stickled.

And a closer look...
Hope you liked my project, and now you need to hop over to Kerry's blog to see her amazing creation.

A couple of Cards and What Pet's on your workdesk

I have been trying to get these cards made all week, but I have been so busy I have only just managed to.
The first card is for the Passion For Promarkers challenge, which was a sketch and autumn colours.
I used this gorgeous InStyle Stamps digi image, Jocelyn, and coloured her in autumn colours. The dp are basic Grey Mellow, and I added some raffia and spotty grosgrain ribbon. The flowers are by Prima, and I tied some twine bows to add to the middle.

The next card uses the Kenny K Krafty Girlz Challenge sketch, and Magical Monday's theme, flowers.
I coloured this fab image, Devilish Donna, using my pens. The dp is Basic Grey Urban Priarie, and added some tiny black gems anda layered flower.

OK What Pet's on your workdesk #2 ... Miffy has finally decided to join me in the craft room ... very helpful I have to say!!
She is 'helping' me tie the twine bows for the Joceyln card above.
Oh and chasing the end of the twine and pulling the spotty ribbon off ... such a helpful pud cat!!
If you have a picture of your pet in your work place leave a link on the blue frog and I will come and have a peek!

We are off camping for the weekend ... so hopefully the posts I have scheduled will work!! Later on today the monthly Instyle Stamps Blog Hop starts ... with a $25 goodie bag up for grabs :) So pop back later.

I watercoloured my image and matted it onto red cardstock. I kept the layout simple and added some red ribbon and red and green brads.

Do take at peek at the rest of the DT as their creations are fabulous.
This card fits Creative Inspirations Christmas in August challenge.

OK its Wednesday so time for Whats on Your Workdesk Wednesday. I am working from 7.30am-6pm this week so not alot of time to craft ... so this was my desk at 7am this morning ...
I loved the effect of stamping on fabric after trying it out for the Basic Grey Challenge, so I thought I would try it with some hAnglars and Christmas Tildas. The box holds all my Christmas stamps .. there are a few LOL!!!

And a closer look at the stamped images .. should have ironed the fabric first methinks!!

Oh and because I should ... here is hubby's side of MY work space ... and Beth waving something in the air wanting to know what it is ... NOT a clue LOL!!
He is supposed to tidy up at night and put all his sharp things away .. that's why a craft knife is out!

Stamping on fabric

I made this card this morning, and am sneaking it on while the girls entertain our visitors LOL!!
It fits these challenges:

Just Magnolia - Lets Get Sentimental
Friday Sketcher - sketch
Basic Grey Challenges - Fabric
Bunny Zoe Crafts Monthly Challenge - Vintage

Now I have never stamped onto fabric before, but I saw that Chris had, so thought what the heck! One of my friend's is a keen needle pointer and we have often discussed stamping Tilda onto Aida and then cross stitching her ... colouring with copics is MUCH faster LOL! I stamp[ed her onto unbleached calico, cut her out and layered onto these BG Capella papers. The sentiment is from a Sweet pea sheet, and the flowers and brads from my stash.

Here's a closer look at the faric stamped image ... makes quite a vintagey card I think ... definitely going to have another go at this!

Better get back to cooking tea - roast chicken, sausages, roast potatoes, veggies and for pud homemade plum pud :)

Secret Crafter Saturday Challenge wk 97

It's the lovely Wendy's turn to choose the Secret Crafter Saturday Challenge theme this week. She has chosen a colour combination, blue and cream.

I used Shy Mollie from the Secret Crafter's own range of manga stamps. She is coloured using promarkers and cut out using my nesties. The papers are Basic Grey Wisteria, and I punched my flowers out using my EK Success punches. I added some pearls and a bit of ribbon.

I've been playing ...

... with my airbrush! I am trying to find the right distance and pressure to get the 'prefect' spray! So I made this card using the airbrush to distress the papers ... lots of slpodgey bits!! And hubbby thinks the red splatter round the cat is a bit sick .."it looks like you've shot it!" was the comment .. .very helpful not!!

I coloured the image using my pens .. .that cat is really hard as I just couldn't get fur like strokes! Then I airbrushed using berry red and holly ound the white dp and image. Finally I inked the edges of all the dp using a dark red ink pad. I added some swirls/flourishes using gems, some ribbon and some card candy. I haven't mounted it onto a card blank yet ... think I might use it as a plaque at Christmas.

It fits this week's Sweetpea Stampers theme, swirls and flourishes, and the Friday Sketcher sketch.

I am off to take the girls to see the Tinkerbell movie in a bit ... Beth is VERY excited as she believes she is a fairy!

WOYWW and a finished project

OK I warn you now this is a long post!!! But it has been a long day LOL!!

Firstly Whats on your workdesk Wednesday ...

Well this first thing this morning!!
Promarkers, Sweet Pea images and packs of papers ...

A closer look at the working space ... I have 1 image coloured .. hated colouring the cat!! (its only taken me a week to get round to colouring them .. they had just been stamped up this time last week!!)

Oh and I suppose I have to show you his side .. messy isn't it!!
But all that you have just seen still has to get onto a card to show!!

I have been making a couple of DT projects for InStyle Stamps, and have finally finished one of them .. so I can show you it!! (I took these pics at 6pm BST .. can't believe how dark they are!!)

Ellie asked me if I could make her a box to keep her pens and images in ... err NO was the answer to start with, but after alot of googling and searching I found the perfect box ... well perfect after some adjustments!
I used Bella from Instyle Stamps and coloured her with my copics, before cutting her legs off (sorry!!). I followed the folder instructions that you can find here. (I did turn all the inches into cm so slightly different dimensions). I added Prima flowers and ric rac to the the front and top.
This is the inside .. I made a holder for some felt pens, and a bound book. I altered the front of a cheap bought note pad and put that in the front pocket.

On the fold out part I lined it in design paper and then added an acetate sleeve so images etc could be slid inside. I added another Bella to the acetate. Bella is also on the front of the bind it all book.

And a closer look ....

You can see Lilah and Molly from Instyle Stamps in there, ready to colour.

As this is a gidft for Ellie I am entering into into this week's Simon Says Stamp Challenge, which is to make a gift.
