More Christmas cards!

I can't believe I started these cards on Friday and only finished them this morning!!
They fit the following challenges:
Just magnolia - sketch (rotated) (2nd card)
Friday Sketcher - sketch (f1st card)
Charisma Cardz - Christmas
Roses on Paper - Romance/swwet
Cupcake Craft Challenge - red and green
Stamp with Fun - Christmas
Pollycraft - Christmas
Corrosive Challenge - red and green
I watercoluredTilda and stickled her. The white raffia has been glimmer misted as have the snowflakes.

Tilda was watercoloured and I gold heat embossed the edges of the image and papers. The flower is glimmer misted, and I distressed the tag.

I have kept the embellies reasonably flat ... gotta think of posting them!!

Sorry for such a short post - life is hectic with the run up to Christmas ... most of the children I mind have upped their hours ... liking the money, but not the lack of time!!!! I am contemplating buying Christmas cards (shock horror!!!) and have 4 Christmas stamps not yet inked up :(.

Secret Crafter Saturday Challenge #60

Wendy has chosen the theme this week, and its Christmas Trees!!! I am in love with this gorgeous Whiff of Joy stamp and just had to use it for this challenge.

I watercoloured Wee and his tree in and then masked him and sprayed walnut gold and frost glimmer mist over the image. The papers are my favourite CHristmas ones this year - I just need to take a deep breath before cutting into them (and I have to have stroked them for several minutes first!!). I added gems to the tree and ribbon, and kept the layout simple.
Do take a peek at the other DT members creations - they are fab.

Vintage winter love

There seems to be a bit of a theme to my Christmas cards at the mo!! I just love these MME papers and as they were out I thought I would use up the bits and pieces.
The card covers these challegnes:
Spoonfull of Sugar - Brown plus red/blue
Passion fro Promarkers - vintage
Stampavie and more - sketch
Whiff of Joy - Christmas card
Simon Says Stamp - winter love - well Uru looks like he loves that birdie!
I coloured the image using promarkers and am really pleased with the colouring, it does look vintagey. I distressedthe image using antique linen, vintage photo, and walnut stain, and then masked the image and used frost glimmer mist. I distressed the papers, including the music papers, and the flower.
Here is a close up of the image and distressed background.
Well I am off for a cuppa while the children are having their nap!!

Brown and blue

I did some colouring last night with my distress inks and when I colour in batches I tend to use the same colours ... browns and blues in this case. I coloured them to go with the gorgeous My Minde Eyes papers I have. But they fit with a couple of challenges - yeah!!!
A spoonfull of Sugar's challegne is brown plus pink or blue, Everybody-Art-Challegne is Christmas, as is the Papertake Weekly Challenge.
I have used the same layout for both cards.Tilda is watercoloured and cut out using my nesties. I stickled her hair band and bits around the flowers. I distressed the image rather than put it on a mat. I matted the dp onto blue cardstock and added blue ribbon and a bow. The sentiment is stamped in blue ink.

Same goes for this one ... except it's the halo and stars that are stickled.

A couple more Christmas Cards

I am trying very hard to get a few Christmas cards made, as a couple of friends have asked for a few!
Both cards fit Colour Create's red, green and white challenge.
For this one I used the sketch from Sketch Saturday and Animal Antics from Simon Says Stamp.
These LOTV bunnies are watercoloured and I added stickles to their hats. The papers are Basic Grey and I used lace and flowers from my stash. The white flowers are inked a bit as they looked too white!! The sentiment is Papermania.

This card uses a Father Christmas from Whiff of Joy. He is watercoloured and the background distressed in aged mahogany and weathered wood. I followed the sketch over at Stamp with Fun, and distressed the edges of the Basic Grey papers.

Ellie is off poorly today so I haven't been working, just doing the after school bit for a couple of children. Hopefully she will be back at school tomorrow. It has given me the time to rummage through my stamps and list a few on Ebay ... I really do need to reduce my stamp collection as I am running out of space!!! if you fancy a peek, you can find them here.

Sketch and Stash 24

Its time for another great sketch by Becky.
I watercoloured the image and added gems to the tree. I inked the edges of the image with distress ink and then heat embossed them to make them glisten a bit. As the image is rather large and I am tryig to keep my Christmas cards smaller this year I have punched ribbon slots so the image sits over the ribbon. I tied some tulle into the knot and added prima flowers that were spritzed with walnut gold and frost glimmer mist.
Do take a peek at the other DT cards and have a go yourself.

A few Christmas cards

I am struggling trying to keep up with photographing the cards I am making with such dull weather. Here are three that I have made over the last couple of days.

The first covers these challenges:
Create4fun - sketch
Stampavie and more - Brown + 1 - in this instance red
Creative inspirations - Sparkle
Uru is watercoloured and I distressed the edges of the image with vintage photo, walnut stain and aged mahogany. Th edp and the music paper is also distressed using the same inks. I added the flowers and leaf, and stamped the sentiment straight on the dp using maghogany ink. The sparkle is in the dp - sadly the dull light doesn't reflect it.

This card covers the following challenges:
Friday Sketcher - sketch
Just Magnolia - masking
Creative Inspiration - sparkle
Colour Create - red, green and white
One stop craft - snowflakes
Magnolia Down Under - Christmas card or decoration
Tilda was masked onto the presents (still not convinced she is sitting right, even after 3 attempts!) and watercoloured her. I cut her out and put her straight on to the dp. I glimmer misted the snowflakes using gold and then glamour dusted them, so they do sparkle!! I stamped the sentiment straight onto the dp.

Finally this card covers these challenges -
Penny Black Saturday Challenge - winter wonderland
One Stop Craft - snowflakes
Charisma Cardz - sketch
Allosrts - Christmas card with song title - Let it Snow!
Colour Create - red, green and white
Simon Says Stamp - animal antics
I water coloured this fab mousey and aded fluffy stuff and glitter. I kept the sketch simple and stamped the sentiment on to a cuttlebug bauble.

We have had a busy weekend - at an evening do for a wedding last night, and a princess party for one of the children I mind today. The girls are well tired and partied out!!! Hopefully they will sleep!!!!

Secret Crafter Saturday challenge

It is Jill's turn to set the challenge and she has chosen calendars.
I have made calendars fro my aunties as part of the Christmas presents.
I made a 6x6" easel card and decorated using Basic Grey papers. I used a button to hold the card up, and raffia to secure the calendar tab - the tab isn't fastened to the card base so at the end of the year it can be removed. I decorated the upright bit and added a photo - this isn't the photo we will be using - the schoolphoto for this year isn't back yet, so this last year's!!

And here are the two I have made.

Do take a peek at the other DT creations and join in if you have time.

Dutch Dare Card Challenge

This week's challenge is In Your Pocket. We want you to make a pocket card.

I had never made one of these, and now I've got my head round what it should finally look like, I think I will be making more!!
I did keep it all quite simple as I wasn't sure how it was going to all work out, but on future ones I will embell the tag more.

I stamped and watercoloured two candles and cut them put. Then I made my pocket and tag, using matching papers and inking the edges. I matted a candle onto the tag so the flame peeked through the pocket.

Do take a peek at the other DT members' gorgeous pocket cards and have a go yourself.

Animal Antics meets a sketch!

I have had poor Henry coloured up on my desk for days ... and no card to go on. So I have combined this week's WOJ challenge, a fab sketch, with Simon Says Stamp's animal antics theme. I have to say Henry is the only lucky mouse in our house ... Miffy is in killer mode at the mo and we are having about 4 'gifts' a day ...what a lovely puddy cat she is!!!
Henry has been watercoloured and matted onto red cardstock. I added lace for the scallop edge and a big band of green velvet (last bit :() with some red ric rac. I moved the sentiment as it covered Henry's ear, so I added a flower where the text was. I'm thinking the paper combination is a bit busy ... not sure - what do you think?

I don't often plug people, but I needed to treat myself yesterday so I ordered some flowers and tulle and pearls from Tab ... it aarrived this morning!! How fast is that ... and I ordered mid-afternoon. I am definitely shopping there again ... only problem is ... the flowers are so gorgeous I can't use them!!!! They need to be admired and stroked LOL!!

A couple of cards

Dear hubby is in late - he's dining in London tonight, so I ate with the children and settled down in my craft room when Ellie and Beth went to bed. Here are the fruits of my labour:
The first combines the Passion for Promarkers colour combo, Marsh green and burnt umber, with the Papertake Weekly Challenge sketch - another fab one by Dawn.

I coloured the image (thanks Jen!!) using my promarkers and then matted onto green and brown cardstock. The dp is Basic Grey Infuse, and I matted it onto cardstock, folded the corners and added brads. Iadded organza ribbon and green ric rac and a ric rac bow. Very fitting for the weather at the mo!!!

The next card uses the Everybody-Art-Challenge sketch, Allsorts theme, card for a child, and the baby's 1st Christmas theme over at A Spoonfull of Sugar. I made this card for Maddy.

I have kept it very simple - I think little ones need strong colours and not too much detail. I love this LOTV bear, and I coloured him using distress inks. The dp is DCWV and I added loops of red ric rac rather than flowers or snowflakes - a bit more touchy feely for a little one. Some gold distressing and stickles finishes it off.

My craft room feels like a stranger to me at the moment - what with having been poorly and working extra hours (thinking of the crafting stash to buy when I have time!!) I have hardly been in there. Hopefully this weekend I will have time to get in there and catch up with the Christmas cards LOL!!!

Snowy Friday Sketcher

I am back on the see a sketch make 2 Christmas cards promise!! I have used the sketch from Friday Sketcher, Penny Black Saturday Challenge's Christmas for the Guys and Corrosive Challenge blog's embossing theme.

For both cards I embossed the base cardstock with my CB Swiss Dots and Snowflakes folders. I matted the images and dp onto red cardstock, and watercoloured the images. I punched red snowflakes and added card candy to their centres, and then added fluffy stuff to the images for the snow.
Simples!!

Fruitcake!!

That'd be the paper before you all get excited!! I am getting to the end of my BG fruitcake papers ... do I buy more or get something new next year ... hmmmm!

For this card I followed the Create4fun sketch, just rotating it.
Isn't Wee with his tree so cute!!!! I watercoloured him, then heat embossed the edges of the card with gold as a change from distressing them. I used card candy and gems, and a bit of ribbon - nice and clean and simple.

So then I needed to be a bit more vintagey!!
I followed the Just magnolia sketch for this.
Tilda is watercoloured and stickled and gold gel penned!! I distressed the papers in red and gold ink. The flowers are left over Primas from last year, and I stamped and gold embossed a swirl in the right top corner. The music paper (thanks mum!!) is distressed in vintage photo, red and gold and tied with twine.

As there is lots of glitter, glitz and bling I am also entering them for the Basic Grey Challenge and Cute Card Thursday.

Secret Crafter Saturday Challenge 57

This week's challenge is Spring, Summer, Autumn, Winter - you need to pick a season and create a card.
I used the opportunity to make the anniversary card for hubby - 6 years in December!! I have tried to combine some of the features of the 6th anniversary - iron, ameythst, garnet, and calla lilies. Wood nad sugar stumped me for the card LOL!!
I coloured in this gorgeous image of Tilda and Edwin and distressed the background and added stickles. The heart scroll is stamped in broken china and then perfect pearls added, spritzed and dried - it gives a fabulous sheen. I stickled the calla lilies and added a snowflake charm.
We are having a busy weekend out, about and away, so I will catch up with you on Sunday night or Monday.

Anyone for hot chocolate?

I have made this card either for Christmas or for a friend's birthday in December ... so no sentiment yet.
I used the sketch from Passion for Promarkers, the colour combo from Whiff of Joy and Everybody-Art-Challenge distressing.
Henry is coloured in using my promarkers and then he was distressed using weathered wood and antique cream. The papers are distressed and lightly inked, and then I heat embossed the edges to add a sheen. Rather than adding flowers (it will be for a bloke) I stamped swirls in antique linen and embossed them. Finally I added an orange ribbon.

Sketch and stamp 23

We have another fab sketch, this time designed by Jill.
I used a freebie stamp (not sure is it Daisy or Dandelion!) and inked it up in versafine sepia, and then watercoloured it. The papers are new - Dandelion and Daisy Winter Tale, and the white panel is embossed with the snowflake CB folder. Instead of a scalloped edge I use card candy, and the sentiment is hand written. I punched a couple of snowflakes and layered them with card candy at the centre.
DO check out the fab DT creations.

Tilda box

I've still got this stinking cold and haven't really felt like crafting, but I did make it inot my craft room last night and made this box for one of Ellie's Christmas presents.
It covers these challenges:
Colour Create - blue, silver and white
Friday Sketchers - sketch
Just Magnolia - distressing
Stampin for the weekend - Christmas goodie box and distressing
Allsorts - bling

I watercoloured Tilda and coloured the bell and ribbon using silver and starlight inks before cutting her out. The dp are distressed and inked and I angled the dp for a jaunty look (sneezes are useful at time !!!) To make the snowflake feature I cut a circles and punched an elm branch out and inked it up. I added silver brads to the corners, a punched sentiment and gems to the branches. I added a silver ribbon round the side of the box.

Here is a closer look at the punched branch.
Here's a look at the box and the ribbon.

Secret Crafter Challenge 56

This week's challenge has been set by Gina and it is to make an easel card ... a definite challenge as I have never made one!!!
Hers's what it looks like closed.
I watercoloured the image and cut it out. I layered it up, adding ribbon. No embellies as I want this to be quite flat to post.

I repeated the papers and colour scheme inside. The ribbon is knotted and fastened using a button.
And another view!!
Do take a look at the other DT easel cards and have a go.
