I used my promarkers to colour in my image and then cut her, the mat and circle out using my nesties. I embossed the circle using my Swiss Dots folder, and embossed the dark turquoise cardstock using my flowers folder. I rotated the sketch and added ribbon, having punched slots in the cardstock to thread it through. I stamped my sentiment and added layered punched flowers and a swirl. The turquoise brads finish it off.Monday, 29 June 2009

Friday Sketcher
I coloured my image using promarkers. Its the first time I have done black hair ... not too bad. I inked the edges of my cardstock and image. I faux stitched the dp using a white gel pen, and added punched flowers. I made some paper beads using scraps of dp and added a charm. I finally inked up part of my Lavinia stamp and stamped the blossom in the top left and bottom right corners.
Ellie now has a ready bed ... she is watching Nick Jr lying on it (its not pumped up but she doesn't seem to care!!). We are off to friends' later so I am going to stamp up some images so I can colour them in while we are there.

A couple of magnolia cards
I made this card last night for the just Magnolia challenge, which is a fab sketch by Bev.
I coloured Tilda with my promarkers and then gut her out using my nesties. I love this dp ... even if it is pink!!! I faux stitched the dp using white gel pen and layered up some flowers. I used lace for the scalloped element of the sketch. No other embellies - still in to minimal! The second card I have made for this week's Sketch Saturday.
Again my image is coloured using a mix of promarkers and copics - the bee bled a bit, but hubby thinks it makes it look more that the fuzzy bumble bees we get in the garden! As the image is quite tall I rotated the stretched the sketch a bit. I haven't put a sentiment on ... I don't tend to put sentiments onto until I know what I am going to use the card for.Off out now to get Ellie a new inflatable bed - not sure who popped it ... cat or child ... but her last one is unrepairable!!

SCSC week #38
For this challenge I have made a Scallop box, which I use quite often for jewellry gifts as it is just the right size. However this box is going to have some very special chocs put in it.
I cut my box template out onto these papers by K and Co (I prefer to use double sided papers so I don't have to decorate the inside!!)

I used one side of the paper for the lid of the box and the other side for the bottom of the box. Having assembled the box I added ribbon, punched flowers and a swirl and some gems. I used my sizzix tag die cut to cut the two dies and stamped the sentiment on to it.
Here's a side view of the box with its scallops.

I can't wait to see what you come up with this week and do go and visit the other DT members blogs to see their pretty packaging.

Hamish has wheels!!
I coloured Hanish in and then took an ink pad to the background - he can't be looking too clean!! I have kept the layout simple, just adding a few button (no flowers for a boy's card!) and as I needed to balance it I added the wall rub on.| Reactions: |
Willow and Baby
I watercoloured thei mage and distressed the background using Tattered Rose and Shabby paint distress ink. I used lace and ribbon for elements of the sketch and punched some flowers. I loeft the tag bits off as their wasn't much room! Finally I stamped a sentiment| Reactions: |
DutchDare Card Challenge #54
I had great fun making it, but have left it quite simply decorated as I was getting short of time LOL!
Here's the front:

I used one of my latest Sugar Nellies and coloured her in and cut her out using my nesties. I did some faux stitching, something else I haven't done for a while!
And the side(s):

For the sides I used butterflies from my Magnolia Spring kit and decoupaged them and added some Stickles.
So here is how I made my card:
I have a template that I use - it is an isoceles triangle (I made it by folding the paper in half)
Using the template I draw it fiently out onto 12x12" paper so that the sides touch like this :| Reactions: |

More cards!!
The first card is for the Papertake Weekly and Truly Scrumptious challenges. I hardly ever use downloaded paper even though a fair amount of our hard drive is 'cluttered' with it!!! So i have used downloaded paper for this sketch.
I coloured Tilda in watercolours and distressed the background. I matted her onto some of the dp, and matted the patterned dp as well. I punched flowers and added gems to their centres, and cut a triangle for the photo corner 9a bit lazy there!! I was thinking about adding ribbon, but actually like it like this so I left it at that.My second card is for the WOJ challenge which is another card by Heather ... I am not sure about thisone ... but hubby and Ellie say its great, so who am I to think hmmmm?!
I coloured Willow with a mix of promarkers and my new copics and then cut her out using my nesties. I layered the backgrounds at an angle to mirror the angles matt behind the image. I used ribbon and brads for the detail on the middle band and punched the scalloped edge using my fiskars threading water punch. I added a copule of swirl stamps and some flowers and a swirl.Still not sure about this one!!

Splashing Maggie
I adore this Maggie - she looks so happy splashing in the puddles! I coloured her with my promarkers and followed the Papertake Sketch from the last challenge (loosely!). This is going to be for a friend's little girl's birthday so I have kept it simple and only used cardstock. I ran some of through my Swiss Dots folder. It doesn't show very clearly, but I glossed the wellies, part of the umbrella and the puddles.| Reactions: |
Wedding card
I watercoloured the image and distressed the background in antique linen and tattered rose. i added so greeny gold ink to the edges. I have kept it quite simple, using the sketch from Friday Sketchers again, and just adding some organza and a few punched flowers - I am definitely into less is more at the mo!!
Its a gorgeous day here so I am hoping to get out in the garden this afternoon - paddling pool is up and full of water for the girls to slpash in!

ABC challenge T is for ...
I watercoloured my image using distress inks. I orginally used Walnut stain for the brown but didn't like the look, so the browns in the image are lighter than those in the dp. I cut her out using my nesties and inked the edges of the blue cardstock. I chose co-ordinating floral dp and matted some of them onto co-orinating cardstock. I added blue organza ribbon and punched some flowers and a swirl. I inked the flower edges and added pearls to the centres of them.Recipe:

Wings
I coloured my image in using promarkers and inked the edges of the image and dp. I cut both the image and the sentiment out using my nesties. The sketch is quite simple and so I kept the papers and colours quite simple (I blame the SCSC challenge for having pink out!!!!) I punched some flowers and inked the edges. I layered some up and added adheshive gems to all of them. On the sketch the flowers would be in a straight line, but they wouldn't fit like that so I offset one.
Ellie went to 'big' school for the afternoon ... I think she enjoyed it ... would like to know what she did ... but that is Ellie!!!
Beth has been back to hospital today for an out-patients appointment following her little episodes over the last 6 weeks. The consultant can't find anything physically wrong and so is putting it down to Beth's "uniqueness" - very reassuring!!!

Sketch and Stash 13
.jpg)
Not a problem as I love my Penny Blacks and just happened to have one unused (yes I had not yet stamped!!).
Isn't it such a cute stamp? Vicky got it for me for Christmas and I hadn't inked it up as I wasn't sure when I was going to use it. However I have a freind who is a bit of a diary writer so its going to her with some bits and pieces.I watercoloured the image and matted it onto red cardstock. I matted the dp onto red cardstock too, and coloured the chipboard photo corners using a red promarker. I added blue ribbon and buttons (not a flower girl is my friend!) and threaded red ribbon through the buttons.
Its a fantastic sketch so do have a go and if you can grab an animal stamp too!

Summer
I masked Tilda and the summer background, and coloured them using promarkers. I matted the image onto pale blue cardstock, and matted some of the dp onto pink cardstock. I added white mulberry flowers with baby pink tea roses threaded through them. I twisted the stems round a cocktail stick. I added baby blue organza to finish the card off. I was going to add some swirls, but I really like the simplicity and cleanness of this - so no fuss!

Penny Black meets Sketch Saturday
I do make alot of clean and simple cards for commissions, but very rarely for blog challanges. I watercoloured the teddy and chose just to use white, pink and green cardstock. I embossed the white card using my Swiss dots and D'vine Swirls folders and drew two embossed lines between the embossing. I cut the scalloped edges using my Fiskers threading water punch. Rather than add a sentiment I tied some ribbon round some white cardstock. I added white and pink brads to finish the sketch. Simple but effective I think.
Hope you are all having a good weekend.

SCSC challenge 37

I coloured Tilda in using my promarkers and inked the edges in pink and green ink. I inked the edges of the white dp in pink and green and added punched flowers with pink tinged roses in the middle and pink ribbon. I punched some smaller flowers and added them to the bottom corner of the image, using pastel green pearls for the centre.

Paper piecing ... again
I coloured Melinda in using promarkers and paper pieced her top, trousers and hair band. I followed Dawny's sketch, although I omitted the sentiment as I want it for a friend and a sentiment isn't appropriate. I added a button, a bit of ribbon and a charm.| Reactions: |
Paper piecing
I have made this card for the following challenges:
- Just Magnolia - Paper piecing
- Stamp with Fun - dots
- A spoonfull of Sugar - sketch
- Cute Card Thursday - tag
I coloured Tilda in with my promarkers and paper pieced her dress. I used the sketch,m just changing one of the elements for a tag. I threaded the ribbon through my image as I stuck it altogether first - doh!! The flowers are punched with little pearls added to the the centre.I am finding it a little hard getting back into the crafting thing as I have hardly made any cards since the bank holiday - thats ages ago!!

DDCC challenge 53
This is my interpretation:
I focused on the lime and blue colours and the flowers in the photo. I watercoloured the image and layered it using my nesties. I chose some floral dp to tie in with the wallpaper in the photo and the pink relpicates the pink flowers. I punched some flowers and a swirl and added pearls and a butterfly charm. Its quite pastelly for me!!Do have a look at the other Design team interpreatations and I look forward to seeing what you come up with.

I carried the sketch onto the inside, using co-ordinating dp again, but kept the sketch as it should be.
And here's the inside.
Then I cut it out and score the two sides and rub any pencil marks out.
Simple as that.
